I am a bit older than any of you, and i saw so much changes in computer area, software area and games ofcourse. If these changes do not occur, i mean if the makers of graphic cards stood by cga (if anyone knows what that was) we'd still be looking at 8 bits processor and zero graphic capacity.
So, 1.9? Yeah, let it come, develop more and more to satisfy your senses.... (and i mean to all those whiners, go play Pong! if you can find it!)
As the title says when there was a time that i used a realweather plugin, and deleten it very rapidely after i found out it not only hit everything with lightning, but also put it in flames... A bit too realistic. So now i still find areas at night that still lit up like a glowstone, and it is emmitting from the ground, trees and leaves... I even deleted trees and ground, but it makes it hard to remove...
Is there a way to let MC recalculate the real light sources, and not the ones some old and nasty plugin made happen?
Have you tried the other possibilities? /gmc, /gma, /gms, /survival, /creative or /adventure?
Have you been restricted to a groupmembership where the permission was left out? (happens early in server setup stage when entering another group and not aware that those basic commands can be blocked)
I guess taking Essentials under a magnify glass might shed some light...
I agree on JanschD, it is impressive what they accomplished here on Java, but i also have to agree on what they accomplished on Windows10 edition, which runs very smooth. I do not know any background in the programming of both versions, but i can see what processes do with the computer's utilization. For instance, i run a MC Spigot server and at one point i tried to make a church with a clock on all 4 sides, but that did not work rather well, either the clock was to thick for the tower, or the wireless redstone i used got no power when time progressed. I therefor tried a clock plugin, and how beautitifull it ran, it let my Intel i5 Windows 2012 server jump in utilization from 8% to 58% !!!! because of 1 plugin... Now there's a bad way of programming...but i told him that he had to change the cycles on the plugin, hope he does, otherwise it's no clock-plugin.
I have a number of months now a MC server, went from vanilla to Forge, made a sidetrip to minigames and ended up through Bukkit on Spigot. Pfffew.
I have a number of people playing on my survival server and was till last week depending on MYMCADMIN, but that seems to shorten your knowledge instead of broaden it. I have now 5 groups where i handmade put users in the right group, but i tried to get the Admin group so that he who is member of Admin, can change gamemode.
I thought it was Essentials.gamemode.*
I had this working like a week or so ago, but the little bugger went into specmode and that i did not want. So, gamemode 0,1 and 2 must be allowed.
Now i read that some plugins conflict commands like /help, which does not work for me, but i can handle that. I want the gamemode settings so that he who is member of Admin, can only change those three modes. I googled blisters on my fingers but got no success.
But before you all start yapping about pastebin etc and pluginlist, i have to ask you, as member in the highest group i can switch with no problem to whatever gamemode i want, and that group only has ' * ' permissions....
All comment is appreciated, even the part that i don't use Op, ever... Except if you want to place a commandblock and pull everything back from backup to find the "why the heck can't i place any block!!!" Well, you need OP for that, but the rest i can so without it. (-:
I tried PEX because it regulates also the rights within groups, and i think it is a good structure if it connects with other plugin's to make everything like prefix en suffix work. It is a handy tool, and sure there are people who like the 'other' program, but it'll do piggy, it'll do! (From the movie Babe)
I read a lot about permissions, especially when i found a problem and solved it through sifting all plugins on the server, you know, move them all out and one by one trying. Well, PEX wasn't the culprit that made me as an OP still invunerable. When entering and leaving the game, i kept being God. But what's the fun of getting out of harms way and try to survive, if that is the setup then playing minecraft has no use for Op, but i found it so i can go to survival and survive. The thing that was responsible is Essentials, i noticed that the option remove-god-on-disconnect: was set to false, so i changed that in true. Pex gives a nice hierarchy in your server environment.. The thing i run up against is promoting and demoting, well, it is my server, i want to be an owner according to Pex. So i could only put myself by example from the makers of pex in the group administrator. I want higher!!!!
So how am i gonna do that if Pex keeps saying i have not a high enough rank. Ultimately i added myself in the Owner group, but it still gives me thoughts about there is something the makers of plugins forget. At first a question should be 'Who is the main responsible character on this server?' and by entering your playername or multiple owners-name (you installed it all), it should set all rights and put you on top of the list. So we don't have to sift through multiple plugins in search of 'where the heck is that setting?' I wanted to have a nice structure for others, i know there are plugins who can do that, but i hope future plugin-builders see what i mean and take a huge step foreward in making 'the boss' very clear in it's hierarchy.
Well, nobody else found it, so here it is: In config.yml in the plugin folder of Essentials is a option remove-god-on-disconnect. This says false by definition, but when i changed it in true, i could get hurt... Deeper than this i won't dig for now, because my list is very long still...
I have moved all plugins and tried in phases to check if i can get hurt, the last one was essentials. Now i'm going to dig through that plugin's config file. I hope i find the culprit.
I am at a impasse at this, i tried the options that were shown in a DINOSAUR thread, i find that idiotic because the problem was maybe solved without telling us, what's the need to keep that unsolved info. However, I am Op on my server, and so is my daughter. I can't get hurt, she can. I can put DE-OP, /UNGOD /gamemode 0, 1, 2, 3, standing in lava, underwater, jumping from the skyscrapers... nothing. So if there is anybody who can tell me where to look.... that would be helpfull...
The plugins i use on my SPigot server are: Plugins (34): dynmap, WorldEdit, AfkBooter, BlockLocker, Lift, ClearLag, PluginManagerReloaded, SmartSpawn, WorldBorder, HolographicDisplays, StopSpam, NoDupeChat, WorldGuard, SimpleBackup, ServerMotd, PermissionsEx, mcMMO, Vault, WirelessRedstone, AreaShop, Essentials, MobArena, FamoustLottery, PreciousStones, SignShop, SilkSpawners, Fe, MobHunt, OnTime, SimplePrefix, SignShopHotel, ServerSigns, Dynmap-PreciousStones, Autorank
I know there are some overdone plugins aboard, but i am still in the process of setting things right. I'm gonna unplug every plugin and hope i don't destroy my world if plugins that are used ingame are switched off and does the server deal with it as something unknown and paste random blocks?
I had sended a personal message to the maker of this mod, if you put sticky repeater against a block with redstone torch and power the repeater, normally the redstone torch should go out, it won't with the sticky version. I got no reply anyhow.... I guess he is either not interested, or away from life or something... Maybe someone else would like to give him a call and tell that people asking for feedback... I guess also that if you make something, take action on it when problems occur. (hope this triggers something... and i hope not bad....)
How do I install this? All that downloads is a .jar-file. When I try to run it, nothing happens.
Well, by now i hope you figured it out, and when not, put the jar file in your MOD folder, that should be recognized by MC (With or without Forge, can't tell, maybe creator has some explaining)
All of the movement AI taps into Minecraft's own pathing code. This can lead to some strange results even in coded for.
Most annoying is when they want to run away from me even if I tell them to follow or stay still. >. <
Yeah, i know, they told me that earlier, but i still find some annoying behaviour. I mean, why is there a metal door if the only logical thinking person in the minecraft world (YOU) is able to understand and open the door with tools. Villagers, nor MCA villagers do quit understand how doors should work. Iknow, i know, it's not that simple.... I hope something wonderfull happens and the gentlemen who do the coding come up with the suppurb solution... I still hope!
