Hey um, can I get the exact link to the download for 1.6.2? I have a virus that whenever I press download just brings me to a website with a chance to win things.

Just press "Skip ads" to download it

posted a message on UK government announces that developers will only receive proposed tax relief if games are sufficiently 'British' enough.
    Quote from A_British_Gamer

Peter Molyneux probably can't get the smile off his face, if I am understanding this correctly.

To be honest if this results in a game having full blown posh British stereotypes complete with rich, posh accents, bowler hats, monocles, and voices by Stephen Fry and Brian Blessed.... I will totally buy it.

Yes, that will totally be my sort of game.

(And I will slap Peter Molyneux's smile right off his face, he should be working on game designs, not smiling with glee.)

Its surprising how the UK government are such asses, AND they have an ego for their country. I do not give a damn if a game is based in the UK or in the US, has English characters or American ones. This is absolutely crazy. And worse, they call it culture.

    Here's my specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (6.1, build 7601)
    Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
    System Manufacturer: WinFast
    Processor: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz (Not overclocked)
    Memory: 3072mb RAM
    DirectX Version: DirectX 11

Display device: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
    Chip Type: GeForce 9800 GT
    Approx. Total Memory: 1777MB
    Current display mode: 1600x900 (16 bit) (60Hz)

    DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
    Direct3D Acceleration: Enabled
    AGP Texture Acceleration: Enabled

I have 2 monitors, DirectX said there is no problems found.

I think the error might be because I use 16-bit colours? I'm going to check.*

Programs that use D3D work fine on my machine.

    Thanks in advance.

EDIT: *Problem solved, it was the 16-bit. Put this in the a FAQ.

posted a message on How paranoid are you about internet security?
    Quote from Zontafer

Personally, I am in nearly no fear of internet, I don't sign up often, I visit trusted sites mostly, the majority being YouTube, MCForum, and occasionally Twitter.

I have no AdBlock nor security other than what is provided by system defaults. I welcome all viruses, gives me something to do. It also gives me personal experience with how I get them, and how to stop them and fix them. I loved my Vista for this. I got viruses up the Yin Yang. I loved it, despite what you may say, it gave me a lot of experience in the virus field.

Yes, and I burn my house down every 2 weeks for fire safety training.

You shouldn't "welcome" viruses. They steal your identity, passwords, system info, IP and other stuff while they make themselves at home.

Eh, isn't this Hansiec's GML block engine?
    Quote from Stere0123

Yes, although I didn't use the latest one you'd find on the yoyogames site.
I picked an earlier version that had fewer features, so I could make it more customized.
I also added/changed alot of stuff within it, so it is very different.
He is credited on the update screen.

You know that the block engine just creates arrays and stuff, you dont need to "edit" it to make it look good.
Also, picking an earlier version for LESS features?! What sort of programmer are you!?

posted a message on Is it weird at all to like prgramming a lot?
No, there is nothing wrong with it.

Its a hobby and part of your personality. Its also powered by a primate instinct to solve puzzles, and programming is a great way for creating and solving problems and puzzles.

(It might also be due to the attention that you may get from the ability to program, its always nice to get recognition)

    Quote from souljabri557

Actually, yes. It has amazing pixelated graphics, good text, good colors/shading/contrast etc. Your game does not.

That is very true, this must be said. Using Minecraft as an example for graphics is a very bad idea. Using any game as an example in general is a bad idea.

Isn't it worth it?! Its a brilliant game, you DEFINITELY should buy it! You'll have a great time.

The game is getting old, but the community is still stirring.

(Did I mention, it has breif mod support?)

    Note: This is my opinion.
