I think this has been suggested before, and Notch said it would propbably be added in 1.9, but i would love someone to make this mod.
Okay, so my idea for the mod is that random volcanos will generate in the world. They are about mtwenty blocks high and generate anywhere except under water. When you go to the top of the volcano, you will see a hole in it, filled with lava that cannot be collected. When you try to place water on the volcano, the same thing happens as in the nether and the water will evaporate. Every few days, the volcano will erupt and lava will flow out of it at around twenty-five blocks radius. The volcano would be made of cobblestone and dirt, also a new material called molten dirt, wich can be farmed on, making the crops grow two times faster.
