I'm having the same problem as Tigermisu, 2 posts up.

Windows 7 Pro, 32bit. After patching with a vanilla/uneditted .jar, it stops at 6% with an error in bm.class.

    Yes.

Thanks so much for this mod. I have been using it for ages and I love it but I think it's about time I upgraded to 1.8.

I am currently using 1.4 at the moment and I can't work out how to uninstall it and reinstall 1.8 with out losing all my existing world data. I can't find the backup file in %appdata%.

Can somebody really nice and helpful give me a quick step quide to uninstalling 1.4 and reinstalling 1.8 please?

    Thank you so much.
    Regards
    Kid

All your saves are in .minecraft/saves/, and the minecraft.jar and all of that lives in ./minecraft/bin/ so you can delete the whole ./minecraft/bin folder and it won't touch your save files.

I'm getting this error on a fresh minecraft install (Windows 7 64)

    Patching class: bm (bm.class)

    Outdated patcher.

Thinoxygen/reminer, Mac+"bad version number in class file"=wrong version of java, or at least, so they tell me. It could be you have the latest version installed but for some reason its not using it when it tries to run the patcher. But I'm afraid I cannot help more than that as I am not an apple man.

mr messiah, is it within the bounds of possibility that you contribute to McMod until it has all features your patcher uses and integrate your mods there?

    Whats McMod?

Alright. I understand that you can't use BetterGrass without BetterLight.

I understand that if you use BetterLight on its own, you will see green-tinted sides on some dirt blocks.

People have said in this thread that the solution is to simply use them together and it works fine.

What I don't get is that when I use the two together, only some blocks have the BetterGrass effect applied to them as seen here:

    Halp? >:

That is 100% how its supposed to look. BetterGrass gives grass on the side of a block only if the next one down is a grass block. If there's a drop of more than one block, or the block is not a grass block, you get edgegrass. This is to give you nice unbroken grass on rolling hills, but still give you edges where there's a more defined drop.

    MASSIVE LIGHTING ANOMALY HERE

You using the very latest version of Optimine? It has broken compatibility with this mod - I've got to do a work around for it.

OK I have to look into this in a bit more detail but I think that the "ugly shading on the side of non bettergrass edgegrass" bug is something to do with a change Notch made to fix biome shading on those little fringes of grass. I can work around it, so not a problem.

More importantly, there's an incompatibility crept in with the very latest version of Optimine (1.2v2) so if you use Optimine, make sure you don't update to that version just yet. Earlier versions are fine.

    <snip>

They should be in SMGUI.properties. However, I've just realised they're not in the SMGUI.properties I include with the mod. Whoops! OK In game you have to do "/ui save" and that will resave the SMGUI.properties with everything included. You can then edit them (no need to quit minecraft) "/ui reload" will get it to reload them and from then on they should be picked up automatically when minecraft starts up.

    Will do. Thanks much. :happy.gif:

EDIT: So, I've been fiddling with the key settings and I was wondering what keys can't be used with SMGUI, if any? I tried to get it to use backslash a minute ago, and it wouldn't have any of it.

You can use most keys, though any non-alphanumeric keys have to be named by the name that LWJGL gives them, so \ is "BACKSLASH", tab is "TAB" etc. The full list is here http://www.lwjgl.org/javadoc/org/lwjgl/ ... board.html (Just take off the "KEY_" prefix and whats left is what you should use)

Okay, so.... I can't find where you can rebind the buttons used by SMGUI. I use Tab for my inventory, and I want it back. :/

I checked the properties files and I didn't see them there. Is there some other file somewhere with that in it?

I have no idea what the hell is happening, but I'm mad.

I worked on my house for like 2 hours this morning, finishing the roof and other stuff, and I backed up my world prior to patching with this mod and optiminer. So I load up the mods, patch succesfully, load my world, and it reverts to a previous version. This happened with the patch earlier, (hence me spending 2 hours finishing my house), but I thought it wouldn't happen again. It's weird because even with the backed-up save, nothing changes. I'm kinda pissed, but also kind of happy (My mines got sent back a bit earlier)

Does this make sense to you? I'm not sure if I'm rambling or what.
    Trying to simplify it...

    1. Patched to 1.2
    2. World reverted to a previous version
    3. Re-did work
    4. Patched MrM mods and Optiminer
    5. World Reverted to the save BEFORE updating to 1.2

Any ideas about what's going on?

Won't be anything to do with my mods, though that won't help you obviously. Are you sure its not something to do with MCRegion being installed/uninstalled?

    Hi,

I get this error when using MC patcher

Multiple classes match for RenderCore: f.class, h.class

I'm using optimine and mcregion so far

This one is hard to explain. Each major game update every class file changes name - thats what breaks all the mods. What used to be called f.class before today, is now called h.class. What is called f.class today was presumably something like e.class before today.

What it looks like you've done here is copy an old version of Optimine into todays minecraft.jar. So now you have two versions of the same class with different names, and you've overwritten something you shouldn't have in the process. My patcher has spotted the mistake and is complaining.

Hm.. the new patcher gets stuck at 7% for me, using the latest version and an unmodified bin folder. Here's the log:

    [code]Input: /Users/xxxx/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.mrm2011-1-13-0.jar
    Patching to: /Users/xxxx/Library/Application Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar
    Patching class: bm (bm.class)
    .

That's the old patcher. New one patches bt.class.

No but you *nearly* can. I moved a lot of code around and theres one little complication stopping me from turning it off selectively.

    MrMMods v1.8

    http://www.multiupload.com/ZJWVAP6EUB

    - Works with Optimine
    - Slight speed improvement with BetterLight
    - NEW SMChat commands
/ui map save - saves your config for simplemap (including which way is up)
/ui map load - reloads it
    - SMGUI now has its key for toggling maps on and off, and Reply-to-last-MSG in its config file. If you want to use the default keys (Tab and M) for something else, pick new ones here.

Will redo FancyPack compatibility when they update.

If I chose not to do compatibility first it turns it all into a competition - my mods vs theirs. Why do that? Especially when the fixes are so minor. (In fancypack's case, changing 5 line numbers. In optimine's case, changing two bytecode signatures).

Plus, I mean, Optimine is a great leveller for performance across different machines. It actually HELPS me to make this mod compatible with a mod that takes away a huge performance issue for a lot of people
