Sep 2, 2011A Minecraft Let's-Play series filled with awesome, sprinkled with greatness and then deep-fried in a mix of pure gaming delicious-ness. Coming soon this fall:Posted in: Let's Play (and Live Stream)
Happy Minecrafting :smile.gif:
Aug 26, 2011Sounds cool, I'll sub :smile.gif:Posted in: Let's Play (and Live Stream)
Me and a friend are actually filming a Let's-Play series as well, so it's cool to just be able to see what other community members are doing with their vids
Aug 25, 2011I know this is a really weird and out-of-the-norm question for the discussion thread, but here goes nothing:Posted in: Discussion
Me and a friend are editing together the first video of our Minecraft Let's-Play series, and we need some short intro music to add to the beginning of the video (for the titles). We'd like it to be:
- ...on acoustic 6-string guitar
- ...no more than 10 seconds
- ...preferably a similar style to the Red vs. Blue intro theme
- No plagiarism please! Make it original!
- Be creative with it! :smile.gif:
If you've got anything you think sounds cool, just post below, and we'll figure out a way to get it to us (YouTube, DropBox, etc.), and we'll give you full credit in the video!

Hmm....Well, other than a creative story, the only thing that can set you apart is how the people in the videos act. There's plenty of comedy in Let's Plays, but it also matters how well everything flows together. But I'm not really sure how good of advice I can give on how to make a video appeal to the public, I think, unfortunately, there's just a lot of luck involved in that. The only thing I can think of is to maybe play a few adventure maps to get started, then go into a more in-depth Let's Play. But if you do want some kind of creative story at some time, just let me know and I'd be glad to think something up.
Sounds cool, I'll be sure to message you if we need help :wink.gif:

Unfortunately, so many Let's Plays are out there. Most are bad, few are good, and most of the baddies killed off most of the good ideas.
My idea would to be to look for a way to add a twist or something unique to it.
A good example of something small, but amazing from the YogsCast, is when Simon says "What's a very nice house you have there" in that awesome voice.
Just try to find something small to get you apart from the rest of the crowd.
That's exactly what we want to do, to add something small but unique that could potentially set our series apart from everyone else's. It doesn't even have to be anything grand and intricate, either, just a creative twist :smile.gif:

When you want ideas, do you mean this is going to be a story, or maps you play through. If it's the first, I might be interested. But I'll ask this, how much input would you need from me. Would it be just the starting idea, or coming up with more in depth points to a story?
At the moment, seeing as we're starting at rock-bottom, there is no story, but we think it would be a very cool idea if, in the future, we started getting somewhere with it. We're just looking for something extra that's unique that we can use to mix things up. It doesn't necessarily have to be a map thing, either.
Aug 23, 2011Me and a friend are planning to do a Minecraft Let's-Play series on YouTube, but we want to do something unique and totally different from most other Let's-Play series. Does anyone have any cool ideas on what we can do to make things interesting and to add a creative twist to whatever we do? Also, please note that at the moment we have 0 subscribers, but a reliable 2-player server that we own and can use for whatever we do.Posted in: Let's Play (and Live Stream)
PS - I'm not posting this in the Let's-Play section of the forum because we haven't posted any videos yet, so there's nothing else that interesting to write :tongue.gif:
May 31, 2011The last point in the Minecraft Beta 1.6.6 change list states:Posted in: Discussion
"* Removed Herobrine"
Joke or for real? What do you guys think?
In my opinion, Notch probably just threw that in there as a joke to see how people reacted, but... that's just me... :wink.gif:
May 22, 2011It was cheaper whilst still in Alpha, but the price went up when it entered Beta.Posted in: Discussion
I don't understand why so many people complain about the price of Minecraft (or ask why you have to pay for it in the first place). It's hardly expensive compared to other games, and it's not like Notch is just gonna write all of that code for free :tongue.gif: and besides, for free updates and an almost infinite source of mods and customization, it's more than worth it.
