Have you ever built a house and thought it looked a little lonely?
Ever needed inspiration on how to decorate your place?
Ever wanted to recreate something but couldn't work out how to do it?
This thread is all about pimping out the interior of your crib with furniture, made using the vanilla Minecraft game.
The aim is to provide as many bits of furniture in as many interesting designs, styles and periods as possible in one easy to access thread. If you have some ideas for cool looking furniture (using vanilla Minecraft) please post it in this thread to help others fill their homes!
When I see good designs that aren't already posted I'll add them to this post!

Flooring
Whenever decorating a house try and separate the walls, floor and roof by making them all a different material. Using wood or cobble for all sides looks incredibly boring and makes the room look smaller. My recommendation is also to break up your living areas with a few different flooring ideas, separating your rooms with different colours looks great and makes it seem more homely.

Did you know furnaces make good flooring? It's also a way to hide them if you don't like the look. by Deadalready, on Flickr
Pay attention to flooring, the last thing you want is too much detail that makes it look messy. Balance your plain floors with borders in slightly more detailed blocks for a nice effect by Deadalready, on Flickr
Patterns: There are infinite patterns possible on flooring, mix them up a little. by Deadalready, on Flickr
Traditional Checkerboard: Sometimes plain black and white is too overpowering for rooms so try using greys instead. Some rooms will even work with other colours. by Deadalready, on Flickr
Checkered Chests: Besides looking really nice you can hide a huge amount of equipment in the floor without taking up more room. by Deadalready, on Flickr
Checkered Chests: Logs make excellent flooring but if used in excess confuses the eye, mix them with plain blocks like chests for a pleasing effect. by Deadalready, on Flickr

Maybe if you wanted instant money and to do nothing for yourself then this server isn't for you. The prices in the admin shop encourage players to trade with each other rather than using the admin shops for buying while still providing an easy source of income. We're not the only server to use this, not by far.

Seriously do you people not ever read these forums properly?
2
To the first quote: This is experimental, these snapshots are designed so people can quickly find all the bugs and get ready for new features, the ssp server feature is brilliant and i'm 100% sure they will make it able to play offline aswell as online.
NB: I also find it quite funny that I know the majority of people flipping out about this aren't running the true game and are using cracked clients hehe
To the second: People have been able to host server from there own computers forever but that has never stopped server hosts. This is because server hosts offer extremely high data speed and usually higher amount of RAM with the advantage that the server is 24/7. Also this server ssp is for use over LAN networks so basically it means we can invite people around and have LAN parties for minecraft which is f*cking boss!
