They are leaked to be like the NPCs they new patch is going to have so I think they are like them and live in mountain-desert area, in my opinion be an active people but not to be messed with and also like to steal bricks for their buildings. That seems to be the just of everything that has been leaked or rumored.Posted in: News

Jul 27, 2011MrGamerMan1324 posted a message on 1.8 Updates: New Mob...Revealed?It looks like these things will tear down buildings or cut into early game caves and holes. If that is so then I think it would be a smart idea to build a watchtower to look out for these things and/or a wall to slow them down.Posted in: News

I blew through the first layer, then put a few blocks of TNT right by the second wall, I was determined to see if it was completely TNT proof, but it broke through.
Why would I put a disclaimer there if it was completely TNT proof?

I just learned it a few months ago... Like I said it isn't something amazingly minecraft changing, just something I made to protect my own building, but when it saved a building from TNT raining from the sky I had to share it.

To save time the main idea of this wall is simply a wall filled with water, but if you want you can read the following steps.
(Disclaimer: This wall design has protected my bunker from a rain of TNT, leaving the interior untouched, though testing has made clear that enough TNT can break through almost anything, if you really want TNT proof walls use bedrock. This design has not yet been tested against creepers, through has saved my bunker. I wouldn't suggest putting your faith into it to protect months worth of work, through this is a cheap and quick sollution to protect interiors from explosive damage.)
Step 1: Dig a hole about 4 blocks down and make it the length of your wall.
Step 2: Fill in the trench with your material and make it the height of your desired wall... You should end up with a single block wall that is 4 blocks deep.
Step 3: Dig another trench behind this wall, make it the same depth as your other trench.
Step 4: Build a wall around this new trench and your should end up with a wall that has an empty center.
Step 5: Fill this empty space with water, cover it and it should end up looking like this...
I lit two blocks of TNT next to this wall and as you can see the interior wall is perfectly fine, it would only take a few minutes of repair to fix the outer wall.
This wall may seem like a static defense, but with a little creativity you could add windows and make it fit on the walls of some more abstract building... if you wanted you could even be a bit devious and fill it with lava instead of water... give your enemies a nasty suprise.
So yeah... it is a wall filled with water, nothing special, but has protected my bunker from my own supidity (House made out of TNT).

What time zone are you in: PST
How long have you been playing Minecraft: Since the 1.7 beta
What are you particularly good at (PVP, mining, farming, redstone, etc.): I am not particularly skilled at any job, so doing slave labor such as farming or mining would fit me nicely.
How much experience do you have in that field: Only in my singleplayer worlds
What exact job/position do you want to have: Farmer
Have you read the rules: Vae Victis
Name any clans you've been in: None yet, that is why I am hoping to apply to this one and start a humble beginning, perhaps even work my way up the ranks?
Are you a fan of the historical Roman Empire: I am a Roman history buff, I started watching the history channel before I could even walk, I recently read a whole website on Roman history because I was bored (roman-empire.net) and I will start taking Latin next year.
How active can you be throughout the week: My weeks are normally open, through certain days I may not be availible.
Do you promise to download one of the civilian skins: You have my word.
What do you think we expect from you: I believe you expect me to be on time to events, be loyal to my leaders, be mature and of course have a good time.
What do you expect from us: I expect you to be historically correct, to treat your memebers with respect and always understand where they are coming from for any reason.
Do you understand you have to check this thread regularly for updates: That makes sense, I will do it.
Do you understand you must read the new members' guide: That makes sense also, I will do it.
Tell us why you think you'll be a great Roman (in a small paragraph): Romans where very obsessed with their self image to others, something I am not, I couldn't care less about gossip and I respect people no matter how socity views them... I would make a horrible Roman.
Anything else you want to add: It is nice to see something historically correct, Marino you just an exellent job putting this clan together and I hope you overcome all those pathetic barbarain scum and show them the true might of roman steel!... just promise me somthing... don't have the same outcome of Rome.
Hail Marino!

Alright I will try it, should I put the stone bricks around my windows, use them for the frame, or just make it completely out of stone bricks?

These are screenshots from all angles of my future house, I apologize for the bad angles and the snow, I didn't realize how annoying snow is in screenshots until after I uploaded them.
Any suggestions would by gladly accepted.

That is... amazing. I am on a survival world and I am a noob. I just want to make houses that aren't all wood and cobblestone.

To the right is a simple plank shelter, and to the left is a quick storehouse I built.
To the left is a cobblestone house, not much different from the later houses in my old village and to the right is a the watchtower, which is a major advancement over my old one.
Coming into bay
Coming into port, with a view of every current building...
As you can see I really need help.

I got minecraft about a year ago, but I am still a noob... I built a village in 1.7 I called "Gamerman bay", but it consisted of square cobblestone houses with wooden roofs... With 1.2 I am trying to remake the village, but with better looking buildings.
I have tried to make good looking houses on creative mode, but they all end up looking like complete crap.
I am horrible with art and color blending, so please help me out.

I built a cathedral out of diamond and gold which was honoring me; the great and wrathful god of gamerman land.
