Very nice work.
...Or could you use a dropper elevator? Am I the only one who uses a dropper elevator?

There are so many glass item elevator designs out there that their creators claim are 1.10 compatible, but their not. Here's one design by K1 Inc. that I've changed so it will work in 1.10.

Xisuma posted a guide to make a rather advanced system for solo sleeping. Features include thunderstorm detection, player notification, and ability to kick players out of the bed if you want the night to stay.
Preparation commands (underscored are things you can rename to your liking):
/scoreboard objectives add sleep dummy
/scoreboard objectives add KickBed trigger
/gamerule commandBlockOutput false
/gamerule logAdminCommands false
Command blocks (unmarked ones and A blocks are repeat/unconditional/always active, B & C blocks are chain/conditional/always active):
1A) scoreboard players add @a sleep 1 {Sleeping:1b}
1B) scoreboard players enable @a KickBed
2) execute @a[score_sleep_min=1,score_sleep=1] ~ ~ ~ tellraw @a ["",{"selector":"@p"},{"text":" is now sleeping","color":"white","clickEvent":{"action":"run_command","value":"/trigger KickBed set 1"},"hoverEvent":{"action":"show_text","value":{"text":"","extra":[{"text":"Click to kick!","color":"red"}]}}}]
3A) scoreboard players set @a[score_sleep_min=1] sleep 0 {Sleeping:0b}
3B) execute @a[score_sleep_min=0] ~ ~ ~ /trigger KickBed set 0
4) execute @p[score_sleep_min=110] ~ ~ ~ /time add 100
5) execute @p[score_sleep_min=230] ~ ~ ~ /weather thunder 1
6A) execute @a[score_sleep_min=1] ~ ~ ~ testfor @a[score_KickBed_min=1]
6B) execute @a[score_sleep_min=1] ~ ~ ~ summon Snowball ~ ~2 ~
6C) scoreboard players set @a KickBed 0

YES!! Finally they fixed it. -~-

Glad somebody finally fixed this, I don't know what I was going to do. Kudos to you, this is great!

Yeah... I can't wait for 1.9. No more hopping out of my minecart to run past the random ZPs in my nether tunnel out to the skull farm.

If you tried the second test (a Superflat world covered with rails) in 1.7 or earlier no mobs would spawn since back then a pack of mobs required an actual air block (not just a transparent non-solid block) in order to spawn, although individual mobs can spawn in them (the first test has air blocks adjacent to the rail-covered blocks; these air blocks do not have to be above a solid surface). Thus, this was not much of an issue prior to 1.8 as long as there were no valid spawning spaces near your rails:

Yeah. Having a 100% flawless design is neat, but then it just becomes a bulk. There's nothing like manual maintenance xD
1
Well, probably you could make a redstone clock that turns the powered rail on, but then that beats the compactyness.
Just fix it manually! :X
Or with a button

It does park, when there's stuff in the hopper, the rail turns off
On another note, I love how compact it is! But apparently there could be a problem where if the minecart is full but the hopper still contains stuff, it'll get stuck indefinitely.
Maintenance to cart #3!

Here's how to build a very simple and tileable minecart loader.

I really like this design and hope y'all do too :-)

Enjoy this tutorial I made, very simple concept being applied with some very simple redstone to create a very simple and effective farm.

I believe a piston extending takes 1 1/2 ticks, you could possibly use a sticky piston with redstone block combined with redstone repeater to accomplish this.
