This is tricky, it maters which SIDE you put what on. Minecraft will run certain command blocks before others based on where they are in a chunk. There are ways to figure out which one will be before the others, but I can never remember. I just put down my two command blocks next to each other, then pop a redstone block between them.
If the fill works, then a line of redstone appears!
If not, just swap the "redstone_block" and "air" in the command blocks and it should work for you!
This was super helpful! Also, I recently (accidentally) found out that you don't need to zip your pack if you're just keeping it for yourself. It will work perfectly just as a series of folders! Obviously you should zip it if you want to share it with others, but while you're editing your pack you can just go ahead and leave it as regular folders! Much easier for back and forth testing!
Cube Champion isn't a "normal" kind of server, this is an on-going video series of Minecraft PvP matches of various popular PvP maps, but with a twist!
Instead of watching one persons Point-of-View, Cube champion is hosting the matches with multiple invisible Camera-Players who can see all aspects of a match at once and a "director" can choose between the different camera players to show the audience. Along with that, we have on-air commentators to help explain what's going on and we can even listen in (and interact with) each team's teamspeak chat!
All of this is happening LIVE during the match, no post-editing or effects added after the fact!
Cube Champion is hosting its first round of game on February 23, 2014 and everyone is invited! Come join us on a team and fight to the death, or just join us on our live-stream and watch what we're doing! All the information is on our website, including the sign-up forms for the games.
Any word on stained glass for MCEdit? I am trying to use them for a "spectator platform" but when I build it over the area in MCEdit, there are TERRIBLE lighting glitches because they're not supported as transparent blocks yet.
Hey guys, Just wanted to open up a PvP Day to the community at large. A bunch of us are getting together on Saturday, January 12, 2014 to play The Walls 2 by Hypixel and Platform Power by Jarren. All are welcome on a first come, first serve basis.
What happens if you make a cage entirely out of fences?
That does work, but it's hard to see through. I hadn't thought of that though, good workaround! The Mining Fatigue seems to be working perfectly though!
MrNonExistent: I did it in Photoshop so I'm sure it was transparent. Unfortunately the game doesn't see it as transparent, only the players client. Would have been the perfect solution though, right?
Aedx: I'm LOVING the setblock command, but I'm talking about a platform that is literally more than 1000x1000 and I'm trying not to have any clocks running anyway. Great idea if I was only looking for a small area, but I'm trying to cover the entire thing.
Zaberz; That is PERFECT! I just tried it out in my test world and it does EXACTLY what I need! I never even heard of that even though I've already been adding potion effects with command blocks. I guess I only looked for the effects I already knew and never read down the list...
Thanks guys!

looks like it will work perfectly!!
I'm working on a PvP map and I want to create a spectator platform above the map for those who die.
My trouble is: with the change to adventure mode, players can now break glass, so I can't make it out of glass. And it appears, after some testing, that ice, carpet, and stained glass are also breakable in adventure mode.
The only other transparent blocks are either breakable or block just enough light (leaves) to make the arena dark after about 15 blocks from the edge.
I even tried making the platform out of sponges and making sponge invisible in my resource pack, but as expected, it still blocks the light even if I can't see it.
Any ideas for this? I really really hate this change to adventure mode. Or am I going about this the wrong way and there's a way to stop players from breaking blocks using a command I don't know about??
Just bought the Windows Phone app. Don't think I need it, but I wanted to give you some support. I use the desktop version of this app so much, and I love it. Thank you for all your hard work!
