posted a message on Mojang Emails
So, I got an email the other day (saturday night) saying somebody tried to change the email on my Mojang account. I immediately went and changed the password, and everything has been fine since...except one thing. It asks me for security answers. I have 2 accounts. This one is my alpha account (username mistahardkill). I never created security questions for this account (I has just migrated it a couple months ago). The other one, I have security questions, this one I never made any.

Anywho, when I click "change security questions", it says "Error! An e-mail was already sent within the last two hours, try again in a while." I did have an email sent to me - a password change request...but it's been saying this for 2 days now. You'd think a company that is so "customer oriented" would have a working email system.

I'm extremely frustrated now. I did send Mojang an email using their form, but who knows if I ever get a response...any ideas?

It also frustrates me how a good portion of people are blindly supporting it just because it is what mojang wants. Please think for yourselves and form your own opinion on why this will be bad and good.

This. Mojang is now just acting like a bunch of Nazi's.

Even ELECTRONIC ARTS and ACTIVISION (okay, not really activision anymore, but back when they had dedicated servers in 2010) restrict against selling in game perks, like reserved slots, double XP etc; and you KNOW you're bad when you sink lower than EA. Valve allows it in ALL of their games, custom camos, more ammo, better guns to start etc. This is how communities survive in the gaming world, it's how they always have, and it's simply because people WILL NOT donate for nothing, and I don't blame them.

I've also heard there are a few big communities exempt from this EULA. If this is in fact true - then it's all about money for Mojang, and they've turned into another company who was built by the community and gave them the middle finger. Playing favorites and picking and choosing? In light of that, if I were any other server, I'd keep doing what I've been doing, and that's that. If Mojang is going to play dirty like that, I'll give them a bit fat middle finger back.

Mojang, you didn't build Minecraft, we did; and let's be honest here - Minecraft was a fluke. Right place at the right time. You're amateur programmers who fluked out on a good idea. I say amateur because you seem to make it worse and worse with every major release. Considering how LITTLE you've actually done for your own game, do you REALLY want to bite the hand that's been feeding you for the last few years? WE made you your millions. Not you.

Server owners just have to think of a different way to monetize their server now. If a server is really that good in quality then patrons will support it by donating. The only difference is people who are less attached to the server won't pay anymore because of no game benefits.

This effectively cripples any new servers ability to get started. It'd be like a quadriplegic trying to run a race.

If I don't see servers like The Walls and Woodycraft shut down, like immediately, I'll be calling shenanigans.

Not sure how anyone can defend this. Maybe Mojang is unaware that their game, which is boring as hell at it's core, is kept ALIVE by these servers, who have paid perks, and a lot of the money from those paid perks is not just to pay the server bill, but to improve the server with unique mods etc.

Without these servers, Minecraft would have died, two years ago.

Even EA doesn't prevent perks in their Battlefield games from being sold by players. This is nonsense.

Mojang are just a bunch of nazi's.

posted a message on Is Mojang getting lazy?
Old thread..but no. I don't think Mojang are getting lazy.

What I do think they should be doing is taking into consideration that they "Released" Minecraft as a full on product in 2011. They need to have a more "final" update cycle. Not just "random release, break everything"...they should bundle more updates and upgrades into say...yearly version updates. It's such a hassle on the community the way they do it now - and as a developer myself, I can say it's the most logical way of doing it.

Hmm... looking at the error log then looking at similar errors on Java's website it would suggest one of 2 things,
    1) It ran out of memory (most likely being it followed the same patterns of that on Sun's site)
    and
    2) possible virus running in the background

If you are running Norton or Mcaffee I would suggest removing that and going to http://avast.com and getting their antivirus for free. Their free was rated better than either of those two and most others for that matter. Do a boot time scan and let it complete. That would find and remove any hidden viruses. Personally I love their Internet Security Suite. If you get a clean bill of sale on the virus check, and many Java viruses will hide from most antivirus scans if the scan is done in windows, then it would point towards a memory issue. Being you HAVE 16gb of ram and you said you allocated more memory to Minecraft (did you use something like Minecraft Magic Launcher to do this?) that shouldn't have happened. I've found that my Minecraft will tend to crash if I don't have 3072mb allocated for my minecraft run.

Also, make sure ALL of your java (both 32bit and 64bit) are updated. If you simply go to their website with a browser like Firefox, it will only check the 32bit. You either need to manually download the 64bit and install it or run the 64bit Internet Explorer and go to their site to have it check. Personally, If you have Avast installed, it will do this automatically for you and keep it updated, along with flash player and many other common installed add-ons and important programs.

The final concern I have is this:

    OS: Windows 8 Enterprise x64

Are you using the evaluation or are you a Microsoft Software Assurance customers? If neither that MAY also be the issue as it may have parts that were pre-release or even altered.

I run bitdefender. Also, I have a technet account, and all i got in mine was 8 Enterprise:P No pro or anything. Full version. I'd blame a virus too, if this hadn't continued through reformats. I even reformatted for this specific issue in December. Before installing anything I got java and minecraft w/optifine, and the same thing happened.

It is crashing in the nVidia drivers.
Upgrading/downgrading the video drivers may help.
Setting Chunk Loading to Default may also help.

Have tried that, man. Tried using 6 month old drivers, tried using betas. No dice...That's my entire issue. It's always nvogl64.dll that it's pointing to, and I don't know anyone who can actually decipher the error log to tell me why, ha.

I posted this in the optifine thread...but I'll post it here for anyone who may know Java. Please help me...I'm desperate to fix this already.

    Quote from MistaHardkill

Perhaps you can offer some insight here. I've been having this problem with optifine. It only happens with optifine installed (it's the only mod I use now). I really just wanna play minecraft:)

    http://pastebin.com/xCvhN8SG

I'll be playing and my window will just close. It'll just be gone. After which I can find that above error in the .minecraft folder. Always points to nvogl64.

I prefer to use magic launcher, but it also happens when manually installing the mod and using the stock launcher. Tried SKMC's launcher too, same bad result.

    What I've tried:
    Updated video drivers
    Downgraded video drivers
    Updated/complete removed/reinstalled java
Tried java 8 (As you can see in the given error)
    Deleted .minecraft, redownloaded etc.
Running java and minecraft.exe in compatibility mode (xp, 7, vista etc)
    Dedicating more/less RAM to minecraft
    Tried with SLI disabled
Even tried removing my second video card completely
    Updating LWGL

This has actually been happening to me since 1.4.7. Just didn't have time to investigate and troubleshoot...now that I do, it's really frustrating.

    Here's a DXDiag:
    http://pastebin.com/Vederia8

You'll notice I'm using beta nvidia drivers. I've been using the WHQL drivers from nvidia, the non beta ones, with the same results. As you can tell, I've tried pretty much everything, ha.

This doesn't happen when using stock minecraft...but with 1.5 especially, optifine is important, otherwise I get mad stuttering:(

    My specs:
    CPU: Intel i7 2600k @ 4.7GHz
    GPU: 2xGTX 680s in SLI
    RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1600MHz
    Motherboard: ASUS Maximus V Formula
SSD: Crucial M4 256GB (Minecraft runs off this; have tried running it from HDD)
    OS: Windows 8 Enterprise x64

Oh and before you ask, I didn't buy dual 680s for Minecraft:P

    Thank you:)

I'm sure you've probably already thought of this cuz you don't seem like one of the noobs who doesn't read the first few lines of HOW TO INSTALL, but just taking a guess based on the error...
    STOP USING THEM OTHER MODS!!!!!
Details of the error that tell me this has mods.

    0x000000000cbc8800 JavaThread "Timer hack thread" daemon [_thread_blocked, id=6320, stack(0x0000000013ec0000,0x0000000013fc0000)]
    0x000000000cbc7000 JavaThread "Snooper Timer" daemon [_thread_blocked, id=7284, stack(0x0000000013ad0000,0x0000000013bd0000)]

Hmm... Timer hack? SNOOPER Timer? Sounds like u are using a virus mod...

    0x0000000002cf0800 JavaThread "DestroyJavaVM" [_thread_blocked, id=9532, stack(0x0000000002bf0000,0x0000000002cf0000)]

Destroy Java Virtual Environment? Wouldn't that crash Java and therefore the game?

Whatever mod you are using besides optifine, REPORT IT!!!
If you are absolutely certain that you are not using any mods, report this to sun (java creators) because it could be a problem with their system (although this is unlikely)

Based on details in the error Derrick, you definitely have a good computer so that couldn't be the problem.

I only use optifine. That's it...and I doubt I have a virus. That snooper timer and timer hack thing is in almost every other minecraft crash error log. I'm starting to give up hope...I need Optifine. Especially now that 1.5 is out, as apparently Mojang has no clue how to correctly optimize their game.

Well, the truth is, it's coming out into the open that while Mojang had a great idea, they have the programming skill of 20 year old college students who are still learning. Yes it's java, BUT it doesn't have to be this bad. I agree they should have written it in something else, but hey, they're one dimensional programmers.

Even the Cryengine 3 minecraft mod runs better than this:P
