I'm curious as to when the server will be back? Is there another ETA?

Me2005 posted a message on [Design Aid][All Systems] A Method For Designing Buidings...I've recently assembled a Sketchup component, which contains every single block in Minecraft - and I did it in such a way as to give good-looking results in Sketchup (Read: The textures aren't blurry). All the blocks and textures are sorted by block ID and have their names in the file, and some blocks even snap to their proper position (i.e.: Ladders snap to walls, and won't attach to floors).Posted in: Minecraft Tools
Here's the link to my site explaining the details, and here's the link to the component (links are in the "Here" if you can't find them).
ALL the blocks lined up
An example of what you can do with the block set
Edit: Apparently I forgot to mention that this block set uses My Texture Pack, which is why it looks different that default. I'll make a default version if there is demand, but personally, I don't like the default and don't use it :wink.gif:
As an added bonus, I could also make it in any other texture pack, providing enough people want me to (this thing took some time to make) and I can get permission from the original author of the pack. -

Redstone Block.
=Block
Let's face it, if you've been playing for as much as you say you have then you should be up to your ears in redstone. It's just sitting there in a storage chest or four, not doing anything but collecting dust. Why not be able to save some space and make a block of the stuff? You can make blocks of iron, diamond, gold, lapis... hell, you can even make a wool block out of string. So why not redstone? It could serve as a decoration if you really wanted it too... maybe a red version of the lapis block. Would it have any of the electrical properties of its dusty self? Maybe, I would say no.
Wheat Block.
= Block
This one also makes sense. You've got this large backup of wheat and it too is taking up space. This too could be used for a decoration on a farm or the like. A big stack of hay blocks to add some farm flare to your farm!
Pretty simple concept. Put 3x3 into table, get block. Put block into table and get nine of said item. - To post a comment, please login.

I'll call you an idiot then.
Next time suggest that they should throw it in some folder on their desktop. It's just a buncha files that won't do anything, while in the meantime they can search for alternatives.
That being said...
I feel it's possible that your laptop overheated, and then the map file became corrupted due to the sudden shutdown.
Overheating is a common problem, but corrupting maps are not.
However, there is a nifty thread somewhere on "Corrupt Map Recovery" so go ahead and hit that up.
Be sure to let us know if this works.

Am I the only one who thinks the combat in multiplayer is the worst?
I'm constantly finding myself being domintated by spiders who teleport 3 blocks and hit me at a 2 block distance, while i'm trying to run away.
Or arrows from skele archers which just kinda appear in your face. Which also makes it incredibly hard to defeat them, since you cant get close or dodge the arrows!
75% of the time you can't hit a zombie without at least taking a hit, or half the time lethal damage.
And the mini slimes are hilarious. They just exist on 20 seperate blocks, pushing you around, even though they are supposed to be a floor above you.
Combat has never really been fantastic.. You're just hitting a mob with a stick and doing x damage, never impressed me.
But SMP combat is just wildly swinging your sword 50 times, or shooting 40 arrows at once, hoping that enough hits register to do lethal, and that you didn't get hit TOO much.
Also, I can't imagine how terrible and fusterating PVP must be..
It's nice and all that notch is gonna try to expand upon combat, but I really think they should redesign how the server and client send the hits between eatchother to NOT have a half second block lag. It would make the game so much more enjoyable, and so much less fusterating..

This is how the industry works. Everywhere.
There is no perfect way to plan out the game design process, as shown by like every company ever.
Mojang is no exception. In fact, you can literally see mojang getting into some form of game design process. Slowly.
If Notch is going to delay updates, split them up, and give vague release dates.. Then it's a good sign!
It means they are putting more thought into how the game will be formed, and how content is going to be added
It means they are realizing that certain features are yet ready, and need to be pushed back
It means that they are giving a buffer for testing and bug fixing before the game comes out (At least thats what I think)

In the future, you should use the search bar located at the top.
These are spider jockeys, probably the most terrifying mob in the game. I mean, spiders climb walls and hunt you endlessly, archers snipe with infinite arrows.. Couple that with good ol smp combat lag (The most ****ing aggrivating thing ever), and you've got the most terrifying mob ever.
As they said, pretty rare.
