posted a message on Why Notch should just release the game when he feels it's complete.
    Quote from mid90smatt

It's never going to be complete, what you're asking is impossible.

This right here. Minecraft is a game of infinite possibilities. They could go on for several years before it reaches it's full potential. That's why they will be continually updating the game after its full release.

posted a message on Bad game design =/= Bugs
As people who paid for the game, we have the right to complain. And we all do it.
I think it comes down to the fact that we bought this guys pet project. We have been spoiled with all of these updates and promises for the future, but the reality is many features like skills and competent npc's will not make it until after the final release. I say, if you aren't satisfied and aren't having fun, don't play it. Minecraft is Minecraft. And though it has evolved, its core concepts are still there to be enjoyed. You pay for the game, but Im afraid you don't own it. Mojang does, and i couldn't be happier with that.

The game will be feature-broken at release.

    This has been discussed before.

It deserves a poor review for having broken and incomplete features at the moment of its release.

And millions of people will still play it. Because it's fun. Regardless of whether the game is finished or unfinished, this game is seriously one of the greatest games I've ever played. All of you enjoy the game as well or else you wouldn't spend hours digging through forums. I think all comments about how "terrible" and "unfinished" the game is need to wait until after the Release Candidate comes to town. You are completely entitled to your opinions and feelings on the game being "feature-broken," but that does not make it a fact. And that does not mean that the game is bad. I dare you to stop playing for good.

posted a message on Dragon Eggs?
Straight from the big mans twitter. He mentions eggs. Then he blatantly states the eggs he was referring to were indeed Ender Dragon eggs. HOW AM I GOING TO MAKE NEW TOOLS AND ARMOR OUT OF DRAGON EGGS?
I hope it's something more than "oh it instantly healz u!!!"
    Let the speculation begin! :iapprove:

posted a message on Your thoughts on code freeze?
I think a lot of people are looking at this the wrong way. Notch could have easily released the game as the sandbox version that we saw in Alpha/Early Beta. But he took a bold move and added a lot of cool RPG/adventure elements to the game. Ever since, people have been whining and moaning that it isn't enough. The game isn't being released as a full fledged RPG like Skyrim, it's being released as a very versatile sandbox adventure game. In my opinion it is completely original and creative and I would love to buy it on day one if I hadn't already payed for the beta. The game is not finished yet, so stop acting like your pre-release 4 is the final game. It's not. Plus, we will see many updates in the future to expand on this already solid foundation. Say what you wish, but I :Ham: Minecraft.

The End will get some minor additions this weekend but remain in that state for one year before significant additions are made.

I forgot the EnderDragon was a minor addition. Herp.

    It'll get ignored for months.

    Nether is proof.

I wouldn't really say it's getting ignored for months, considering he recently tweeted that he is working on it more this weekend :wink.gif:

    STOKED! :biggrin.gif:

Thanks. I was just making sure XD
I was definitely going to be bummed if there were no overworld dragons to slay. So do Enderdragons not shoot fire? I guess burrowing through terrain is powerful enough...lol

posted a message on Regarding Red Dragons
Notch has indicated that he will implement less destructive Red Dragons after "release." Does he mean the pre-4 release? Or the release of the full game? Either way I would be ecstatic to slay dragons in the overworld.

posted a message on My Theory on Endermen!
    Quote from KaztheDark

Hello, everyone! I've recently come up with an idea about where Endermen came from, and I think I've got an answer that make sense, more or less. Not only that, but updates are actually supporting it! I originally didn't know how they would've gotten the Ender Pearls, for example. So, here it is:

Originally there were more people in the land. They were quite advanced, building large strongholds and mineshafts. But then they found the Ender. They built the first portals by accident, and once inside found the Ender Pearls. Discovering they could be used to teleport, their empire flourished. However, there were some... unknown side-effects. You see, each time they teleported it took them into the Ender for a brief instant. Brief, but it started to add up. It distorted their bodies and minds, as well as giving them an innate ability to teleport. By the time they realized this, it was too late, and the survivors were wiped out by the new Endermen.

So, what do you think? It's a bit short, but sums everything up quite nicely, if I say so myself. Anyone else have any thought on the subject?

I really do like this take on the story. Although it is fairly likely that we will never know for sure.

posted a message on Enderdragons AND dragons?
I would be incredibly upset if we could only find dragons in the Enderlands. An Enderdragon could be larger, have scales and be tougher to kill, but I would like to slay a lower tier dragon in the regular world without having to go make a thousand Ender Eyes.

Hopefully I won't have to make a new map to get any new 1.9 biome features or something like that. On the bright side, I went to the Nether for the first time on survival mode. :cool.gif:

Last time I get my info from the wiki haha...Sorry guys. So enchanting does absolutely nothing to boost weapons in this pre-release right?
Of course I spend hours finding diamond and obsidian for nothing.

posted a message on Enchantment has weakened my diamond sword?
From what I understand, Diamond swords do 5 hearts worth of damage. And pigs have 5 hearts. So basic math tells me my Diamond sword should be able to kill a pig in one hit. I enchanted my Diamond sword with a level 6 enchantment. Now, it takes at least two hits to kill a pig. What is going on here?

posted a message on Enchantments have problems
I think the enchantments and potions have great promise when it comes to enhancing the depth of pvp.
However, you are not being forced to use these. I think that's a key thing that a lot of people are missing.

Enchantment table (work in progress) is wicked cool though.
