I think the recipe is a bit too expensive (the iron block, which would cost 54 iron ingots). Other than that, the idea is pretty decent.

To play "Minecraft Wars," you would basically add an amount of soldiers to a fortress (as recruiting or backup) and/or subtract an amount of soldiers from another fortress (as invading). They may only add or subtract only twice per post! The example is shown later in the post.

Once a fortress' soldiers count reaches 0, it will be eliminated from the game. The last fortress standing is the winner of the game, and if so, restarts.

Forest Fortress: 20
Ocean Fortress: 20
Desert Fortress: 20
Jungle Fortress: 20
Taiga Fortress: 20

Extra info:
There would be random events, such as beneficial ones that raise soldier counts or to zombie attacks or sabotage or espionage that would lower soldier counts.

You may launch a propaganda campaign on your own fortress, which could either end in success or failure. If success, then you will gain soldier count, while the opposite will lose soldiers. Should you launch a campaign on another fortress and succeed, you will gain more soldiers and they'll lose soldiers.

You may also launch an sabotage or espionage attack and you may specify the target, but the results may be either success or failure.
(Since I'll be considering the results, I will not be allowed to launch a campaign or launch sabotage or espionage.)

Nevertheless, let the wars begin!

A better solution would be to simply add ebony trees to jungles, while also keeping the current jungle trees. And if that name is too much of a problem for some reason, then they can be called "cocoa trees". (But then I'm sure there would be people who say "but cocoa trees don't grow as big as the giant jungle treeees" and a whole other can of worms would be opened.)
