Wow, I'm truly surprised this mod still gets attention after all this time without an update. People are still downloading it, so I'm trying to work on updating it for Minecraft 1.6.2. However, after all the changes Minecraft has gone through simply updating the source code is nearly impossible, which means I'm going to have to start from scratch. This means it will take some time, maybe a month or more since I have to learn how to use Minecraft Forge, but what I'll have when I'm done will hopefully be significantly better than the current mod. Since I'm now preoccupied and can only work weekends, I'll start this Friday/Saturday. Though it may be a while before I start adding features, I'd like to request that anyone who has any suggestions for additions/modifications to the mod to state them now, so that I can know what work I have ahead of me.
Thanks for the support and here's to the update!

Jul 28, 2012MinecraftAndMicros posted a message on [1.3] There is a direct link between VirtualBox and LAN servers not functioningHi, Just thought I would share this.Posted in: Recent Updates and Snapshots
I have found a direct link between having the program VirtualBox installed on your PC and non-functioning LAN servers in Minecraft 1.3. If you have Virtualbox installed, it sets up a virtual IP address for the virtual computers that it runs. You can see it if you open the command terminal and type "ipconfig", it will be labeled "VirtualBox Ethernet connection" or something similar to that. If this happens, when you open your minecraft world to LAN, it will find this IP address, mistake it for the computer's IP address, and bind the server to it. Considering how minecraft 1.3 doesn't have any evident way for you to change the IP (that I know of), the only solution I have found is to remove VirtualBox entirely. This will remove the port and allow Minecraft to bind to the proper IP.
If this has been pointed out before, sorry for reposting. If someone knows how to solve this problem without removing VirtualBox, please post.

I've fixed the link (thanks Gadgetman!) and I hope to get the updated version of this mod for MC 1.3 uploaded soon. I haven't worked on this mod in quite a while, but here are some things I hope to accomplish with the update:Posted in: Minecraft Mods
- Full MC Forge porting. This will make it work with SO many more mods!
- Multiplayer support, though you would be a maniac to put this on a public server, it would be great for LAN war servers
- Combustible lemons
Due to the fact I have to go back to school soon, I will be open-sourcing all the source code and I will give consent to a worthy undertaker to update it for every new Minecraft release. You may apply in this thread.
Thanks to all downloaders!

I'll get a test server up and send you the IP so you can test the connection. It *should* work, but since I've never had anyone outside of the local LAN network connect, I'd have to test it before I started working on getting a server established.Posted in: Server Recruitment
Jul 17, 2012MinecraftAndMicros posted a message on Looking for a someone who can bring this server idea to life...I actually own a computer that is capable of hosting this size of server, and a 10MB/s internet connection, but the server would most likely not be a 24/7, due to actual *work* that has to be done on that computer a few times a week. Not to mention that though it does have Port forward, it doesn't have a static IP so that would be a problem as well.Posted in: Server Recruitment

Also, I'd like to know if there is an admin panel accessible via internet connection. A terminal at least. And full FTP access to the files.
Jul 16, 2012If you did it, you would have to be willing to give some initial investment toward the server. Someone is not simply going to pay your way in full. If they did pay in full, you would get the rank of "guard" (or similar) and they would be "Dear Leader", considering how all you did was supply the idea. Even if you did a 50% investment on the server, you would have a duel-dictatorship with the person who covered the other 50%. Once you have the server up for 1 month, you may be able to get donations to run the second month, so the first month is all you need to invest in getting.Posted in: Server Recruitment

Jul 16, 2012So let me get this straight:Posted in: Server Recruitment
You want to host a MASSIVE PvP server. This will require a dedicated hosting service, as no home internet connection is fast enough for a server of this magnitude. It will have to have at least 48 slots to be any good, and about 3GB of RAM. This, at the cheapest, is about $35 a month. You expect someone to pay for this, AND install/set up all necessary plug ins, and this person only gets SECOND in command?!?
That being said, it's a good concept, but I doubt anyone would do it for you if they would still have to rule under you despite the fact they are the only reason it exists.
Not hating here, just questioning. BTW, I'll consider it.

Jul 12, 2012UPDATE: It worked! Server response is fast and there is almost no lag when breaking blocks! There must have been something consuming resources in the old server world. Enjoy!Posted in: PC Servers
BTW, please to not explore too far, in order to keep the server fast until we can upgrade.
Jul 12, 2012There isn't a world size limit, and yes, the server is very laggy. So much, that I don't hardly play it and I own it. I may need to start over with new map just to make it playable again. However, this is just a temporary fix. See the note I posted in the title thread, I really just need to upgrade my server host company. I picked the cheapest one at the time, which was fast originally, but is now slower due to the fact it uses a shared system (multiple peoples servers running on the same computer), and some other user is maxing out their server as well.Posted in: PC Servers
I'll restart the world and see if that fixes things.

Jul 10, 2012OK, a lot of our original players have left so the whitelist is open again. I've whitelisted both of you. Have fun!Posted in: PC Servers
I added this in the initial post, but I'll add it here as well:
NOTE: Due to the expanding world size of this server, the server has grown annoyingly laggy. We need to upgrade the server before July 26 or we will be forced to revert this into a less-demanding Vanilla survival server. Upgrading cost more money each month. We need a kind donor to donate $10-$20 BEFORE July 26th. How much is donated determines how much longer we can support the server. This is not a matter of pocketing money for me, all donations will go directly to paying the server host. If you wish to donate, contact me via PM. You will be made an admin if you wish.
