It is new dimension. I had an idea about same world, but decide to choose other way.
EDIT: Dont fly up (down o.O) in the other-side you will die and crash...

Its the other side of the world. Now it's just reversed normal world, but i will use other mods for it, twilight forest for example. I enjoy jumping from one side to the other through a hole. Try choose "other-skylands" as the overworld, that's funny too :smile.gif: Also, redstone schemas that exist in both worlds look awesome.
When you port this to 1.9 (or 1.0) I would love it if you kept the Sky dimension and just added the end right above it! That would be amazing! Alse, an idea for the portals: a portal of obsidian with fire in it would take you down a dimension (skylands to Middle Earth, Middle earth to Nether, etc.) and a portal mad out of Glowstone with a bucket of water in it would take you up a dimension (Nether to Middle Earth, Middle Earth to Skylands, etc.). Kind of like Aether portals. Anyway, This mod is GREAT! Thank you!

Height is not a problem. All lags born in the nether, and when lava fall stops, they're gone - that's my lag warning. Second problem is the "Far" rendering distance, i need to reduce rendering radius, cause now player see more than 128 blocks height. All other problems i solved, and i will include Opti only for it's graphics mode customization.
I haven't tried this mod (Optifine incompatibility) but I have a question. Where do the Skylands start? I saw in the screenshot in the OP it is too close to the overworld.
I suggest you to wait next version of Mine Up, 0.3, it will be less lagging. I know what lags removed by Optifine, i did the same. Mod will not be compatible with Optifine (too many conflicting changes), unless i include Optifine with permission of the author.
Skylands start at 128 or 256, it can be customized in "More world options".

Are you going to keep the ability to create portals for each dimension there or are you going to omit it entirely? And what about other mods that add dimensions to the game? Will we be able to configure wether they appear in the stack or not? If so, what about the order they appear in?

Mine Up is going to be compatible with a lot of mods, and by default it will not contain new blocks and creatures, but i think that his mods will require Mine Up as a core.

Awesome mod! I use optifine MT, so unfortunately I can't use it.
you said that you would make it optifine AA compatible, but you couldn't make it for classic or smooth. Is it impossible because of the code?

I made too many changes in the same classes as Opti. The possible solution now is to merge the code and include Optifine by default, i'll ask the author.
