So you're saying that Linux, which in you have to use the command line a whole lot more is better than Windows? I have a feeling that you've never actually used Linux because you're saying "Linux is brilliant", but Linux itself is not an operating system. You can't download "Linux" and run it, you have to download a Linux distro. Some Linux distros are quite different from others and even someone who liked using Linux in general would not say "Linux is brilliant" because some distros are crap.
Can you tell me why you think Linux is so much superior to Windows? Besides being free there are really no upsides.
I think you may be hanging out with closed-minded people who can't get past the face that Microsoft changed the start screen. Windows 8 isn't much different from Windows 7; the only change in it that I can really see people disliking (Unless you like having your computer boot and shut down slow?) is the start menu. Anyone who dislikes it because of that has either never tried it and thinks it's a much bigger deal than it is or has only tried it for a very short time. Tip: you can right click the bottom left corner of the screen to bring up something that resembles the start menu in Windows 7 and older.
Quote from Frankuro_The_Great»They would probably also completely recode it in C++ or C# Because Java isn't good enough
You say that like recoding a game from scratch in a different language is easy. Microsoft wouldn't buy Mojang if they wanted to completely recode Minecraft. They'd just make their own game resembling Minecraft in C#.

I'm not telling OP to get Windows 8; he had it in the list and is getting yelled at for no reason.
Then why are you saying "Don't get windows 8 it's a nightmare!11!"?
I never said that you were on a bandwagon, now did I?
I was talking to that other guy, who just said "Do your self a favor and don't mess with death (AKA Windows 8.1) Get Windows 7.", which is quite obviously written by someone who's never used it.
All of those are already assembled... Buying a barebones is not "building your own".

Lenovo y510p/y500.

8GB.

It runs quieter and has equal (arguably better) features, and it's also cheaper.

There's no heatsink on the VRM, plus the DS3P has a lot more features.
It's a lot more than 2FPS. 5-10 FPS on most games according to AnandTech's benchmarks.
So why are you suggesting it over the much superior Source 210 then?
Oh no! One person dislikes Windows 8 so the OP can't buy it now!

The 970A-G43 is not a good board. Just get the GA-970A-DS3P for one pound more.
For 10 pounds more you can get a much better R9 270x.
The 200r is not worth that much. Get the Source 210 for around 30-35 pounds.
The 430 does not have the required plugs. I don't care if you have an adapter, molex to PCI-E adapters are not a good idea. Plus running that system on only a 430w PSU isn't the best idea either.
Please show me where you can get laptop cases, motherboards, GPUs, CPUs, etc. Oh wait, you can't.
AKA still overpriced.
No, they're worse...
Definitely not. Alienware is crap, but they're better than Razer.
Which you won't be able to game at anyway.
Ah, yes. I forgot that my suggestions don't count.

No it isn't...
No, if anything that's worse than the Alienware.
I have given OP suggestions and he ignored them.

Both of those are pretty awful, not to mention that the first one won't even work. The CX 430 only has one PCI-E power connector and the graphics card requires two.
The second one will start at least, but has quite a few issues with part choice:
The 212 EVO and that motherboard are not good enough to get you an overclock that is worth the extra money.
16GB of memory for no reason.
2TB hard drive for no reason.
The GTX 780 is for multi-monitor setups or a single 1440p monitor, not a single 1080p monitor. A 770/R9 280x would be better.
Expensive, low-end power supply which is overkill wattage-wise.
Cheap-ass monitor in a 1200 pound build why?
You're also assuming that OP is from the UK (Which he is not, as he's linked to US websites on this thread), and that he wants to build (Which he obviously doesn't/can't, since he wants a laptop).

Not hot enough to make it shut down, though. The b960 has a maximum recommended operating temperature of 85C, and it'd probably have to get to around 100 or so to actually shut off.

If you aren't, this is only $10 over budget and still much better than the one in the OP: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834313718

Not for $2000 it isn't.

So they don't want you to go outside or play video games?
What do they want you to do then?

One host is overpriced! That means they all are!
You don't.
Have fun wasting your money.

That's only semi-accurate.
