It has nothing to do with what OS you are on. What kind of router do you have?
Well port forwarding doesn't, assigning a static IP does, which is VERY much recommended when you fort forward. That way, you won't have to do it over every time you restart your computer. However, I don't know how to do it on a mac, though I would imagine it would in System Prefences -> Network Settings (or something like that), Google or YouTube it.
Dec 7, 2011Hello community! I've had this problem for a while now, so I thought to ask the awesome Minecraft community. So I'll just get straight to it: My Minecraft launcher (and Spoutcraft too) has been having a problem downloading the client (lwjgl.jar, minecraft.jar, etc.). It starts to download, and then freezes. After a while, Minecraft gives up and tells me that the download has failed. Though for some reason, if I'm downloading a new update, it usually only takes 1 or 2 tries...Sometimes using the web client to download it works, and sometimes it doesn't. (Right now it's not) So, I'm just wondering what causes this problem, and how I fix it. (I don't actually NEED an unmodded .jar, I have one backed up, but this problem should still be fixed.)Posted in: Legacy Support
So does anyone know what the problem is with this?
Windows 7 64-Bit
4 GB of RAM (Not like Minecraft will use all of that without a custom launcher, but still)
AMD Turion™ Dual-Core Mobile M500 2.20 GHz (Processor in case you couldn't tell)
ATI Mobility Radeon 4100 With 256 MB of Dedicated Memory, 1662 MB Shared, so 1918 MB Total.
Oct 16, 2011So, first of all, if this isn't in the right place, I'm sorryPosted in: Mods Discussion
Anyways! Straight to the point! If you don't know what Spout or Spoutcraft is, here, here, or here. So as I understand it, Spout and Spoutcraft combined increase server-to-client communication. So, couldn't, for example, a server with Spout and BuildCraft installed, send the mod to the player? That way, you wouldn't have to install the mod for the player, just the server. You would just need to make the mod compatible with Spout and CraftBukkit.
Can anybody tell me if this is possible?
Thanks in advance.

It means that the stronghold was already generated elsewhere, this occurs on every startup after the first map generation.
I don't seem to get it every startup. Only sometimes.
Oct 5, 2011Ok, so sometimes I get this strange message in my server console. It reads:Posted in: Server Support and Administration
"Placed a Stronghold in Invalid Biome, at 46, 64 (I think those are correct)."
What does that mean? Why do I get it? What causes it?

I have been playing since alpha 1.1.2 and only a person without any creativity could be bored in this game. Seriously.
Even so, I don't have any creativity at all, and yet, I love this game!

This was true, however at the time of the OCMI I had a lot going on. Way more than would allow me to work on the project. That's why this time I'm waiting until I'm absolutely sure everything's settled and I'll be able to spend consistent time on this. That'll be soon, but unfortunately things keep getting changed around, which is annoying.
What (if anything) is done already? Also, what language are you programming this in? If it's Visual Basic, .NET or C# then it requires .NET, which isn't multiplatform.
