new mob suggestion to spawn in cities: Mimic
the mimic would spawn somewhat uncommonly in the ancient cities and would look like a spawnpoint statue upon first approach, however as you came near it would spring to life, it's eyes would glow a bright red and it would make coarse sliding sounds like stone and metal grinding together as it moved towards you methodically. it would have a lot of health and be difficult to kill, however upon killing the creature it may drop some of the material it is made of as well as a bright golden-colored blade of cincinnasite,

I’m afraid you’re mistaken. There’s already an image for the nagas in the spoiler.
Even so, your image shows a non-vanilla sky. I can’t use this to showcase my mod, as that would be advertising features Mowzie’s Mobs does not include. Also, as a personal preference, I like the spoiler images to show the mobs in the environments they can be found in. Thanks anyway!

    Thanks!
That would be fun. I can’t make them light up their surroundings but they would still make good decorations. I’ll have to think of how.
Ah, I don’t have one. I appreciate it, but I can’t ask for community support because I can’t promise that I’ll work on MM consistently. It would be unfair of me to accept donations and then wait another year to develop more content.

I suppose I could look into this. It would be fun.

Did you check again? Sometimes forum images have trouble loading. Maybe try using a different browser?

i am using google chrome, the images arent just failing to load, they arent there. the same happens when i load this page up in Microsoft Edge which is garbage anyway.

That is a really nice image, but Mowzie already has his own.

It doesn't show them up close, but it's there.

    not on MCF

this isn't going to be a very well thought-out suggestion but i know you are very good with making do, this mob is based off of something i plan on adding to The Sleeping Lands, but im going to modify it slightly to meet the needs of your mod.
from what i notice, all the mobs you add into the game currently are very aggressive and mean. why does everything try to kill you? those creatures that dont try to kill you are sentient. where are the super peaceful herbivores or peaceful giants? im here to present you one, now humor me for a moment please.

Cornubull [cornu - meaning wing, and then uh... bull]
there would be a creature that lives in the extreme hills biome. it would appear to be a large gray bull with the front legs in fact being wings similar to a bat. it's head is large with forward-facing horns which extend far past their head and get wider towards the ends, it's shoulders could be covered in thick, shaggy fur but these are just my thoughts on the design, you could do what you want with the design as the mechanics of this mob are what is important. it uses it's large bat-like membranous wings to not fly, but glide between the cliffs. and it uses it's horns to dig into the dirt and stone and gather up food. sometimes, however, it would bring up valuables in it's digging which could be anything from flint, to iron, and even diamonds. however, if you attack it, it will try to knock you off the cliff with it's large horns. if you manage to kill it, it will drop it's wing bones, which you could put on an elytra. this would allow you to generate a little bit of lift using your elytra by flapping the elytra a maximum of 5 wing flaps, this would allow you to get about 10 blocks off the ground before gliding away, making the takeoff using an elytra much easier. im not sure how much sense this post makes as im quite tired right now, but im hoping you get something, even if it's just inspiration, out of this suggestion

posted a message on I was playing modded Minecraft (1.12.2) with my sister over LAN and something broke.... really bad...

you could delete her player.dat file in the server files to force the game to reload it, then the next time she spawns in the server in theory it would be as if she where joining for the first time. just a thought though.

posted a message on @all modders: Do not make your mod end game only

the fact that you think an enderpearl is a late-game item or difficult to obtain in any way shows a lot about this post in general. you cant just demand modders to make their mods easier just to cater to your noobishness. as a modder/aspiring modder myself, this post came across very rude and angry over a problem that you created. if you dont like a mod, dont install it. and if you like a mod's features but not how the developers handle the mod, make your own mod. a mod creator has a right to make their mod however they like, and not only is your post disrespectful to the creators who have put hours, days, months of work into the mod, it is angry and unhelpful.

there where a million different ways you could have made this post in a way that was helpful to future mod-makers. a condescending post telling people who put hours of work into their mods that they're "silly" and that they need to "stop making their mods end-game" is not it, my friend.

you should upload to curseforge, this would allow people to use your mod in twitch modpacks and you can gain curse points which i believe are worth 5 cents each. it's overall a better idea instead of using this independent download on MCF https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft

posted a message on [CONTRIBUTORS NEEDED] The Sleeping Lands

okay. i dont like going on and on so im just going to go straight to the point. our team is looking for people with skill in texturing, modeling, and of course programming. these people can get involved in an experience the likes of which, when finished, could be equal to that of the Aether or the Betweenlands.
we're still in the brainstorming phase but this is a Passion Project, which means that all of us get to contribute it, and since 99.9% of the content takes place in a separate dimension, we can have as many people adding as many things as they want, as long as they play into the world building that is already in place and builds itself into the dynamics of the world.

here is the basic rundown of the world. (quoted from our doc)

    "Mod Concept:
A world with 2 extreme weather types. winter / summer. So half of the time it is summer, it’s hot, you can burn to death if you stay outside too long, plants flourish. The other half of the time it’s extreme winter, snowfall, snowstorms, plants die. Water has to be found within plants. (or by melting snow during the winter) Special plants can be extracted for their honeydew. Would serve as water.
    Each season is 4,380,000 ticks
So summer lasts for 4,380,000 ticks and is extremely hot during the day, but goes down to more bearable temperatures during the night.
And winter lasts for 4,380,000 ticks and is extremely cold during the day, and even colder during the night. Do not go outside at night in winter without lots of gear.
However days/nights in the sleeping lands last for about twice the amount that they do in the overworld
Whenever the season changes from summer to winter or vice versa, or a new weather effect is incoming, you are given a warning on the top of your screen.

In the sleeping lands there are 2 new weather events planned so far:

The Scorch - only occurs during Summer, causes all wood, plant, and entities to catch on fire, the sky turns a fiery reddish orange and there is a haze effect. Also the only time that Solas Spirits spawn.

Blizzards - only occurs during the Winter, a large amount snow, coupled with dangerous rogue winds (which are really just entities that look like white puffs of smoke, make howling wind sounds, and fling you across the ground, effect can be negated with snowshoes) and very low visibility due to the sheer amount of snow in your face, when you are outside during a blizzard you are given slowness 1 and your temperature goes down super rapidly, temperature decrease can be slowed with some sort of fur pelt item, which would be equipable by other means than armor equipment (meaning it can go on over your armor)

so when you're in this new dimension you have 2 new bars you need to manage, temperature and water. if you get too hot (which happens by being exposed to the sky during the summer) you burst into flames, potentially burning to death if you fail to get your temperature down well enough. if you get too cold (by being outside in the winter without a heat source) then you may get hypothermia (be inflicted with slowness 2 and start taking damage) until you can get back up to comfortable temperatures. and then water, certain foods in the world can give you water, which when eaten or drank, will give you points in terms of water. you'll have to be diligent and manage both if you wish to survive"

if you are interested in getting involved with this project, please join our discord and PM either Codabear or The Traveler, show us some of your work and we can get started on this fun project.
