Oct 6, 2011MewMew34 posted a message on 1.9 (Pre-Release 3) is Ready To Test!I wish more was known about the black stuff. Don't really want to run into it when it seems to have no purpose right now. What does it currently do? Just sit there looking strange? I know there's a youtube video about it but my comp is being too laggy to run it properly right now.Posted in: News

Sep 27, 2011MewMew34 posted a message on "Scrolls" Lawsuit Goes To CourtHopefully the judge involved will have the brains to tell Bethesda to go to hell, and that they can't be going after anybody who dares use words like "elder", "scrolls", "Oblivion", etc in their titles. Things like Morrowind and Skyrim I can understand, as those are more unique, but the other three are common words seen often enough that any of them on their own can mean a lot of things.Posted in: News

Sep 24, 2011MewMew34 posted a message on 1.9 Pre-Release is Out for Testing!@TrampMan123: Like everything else, it's just a matter of exploring until you stumble across one. I haven't managed to find one myself yet, though I haven't been playing much lately until they get some of the big changes done. Don't want to have to keep re-seeding the world I'm in. I like my current one so I don't want to keep making new ones.Posted in: News

Sep 24, 2011MewMew34 posted a message on 1.9 Pre-Release is Out for Testing!Have they released the 1.9.2 that adds the "bunny hop" back in by holding space? Notch said on Twitter he was going to add it back in yesterday. I'm not playing any version of 1.9 until that gets added back in.Posted in: News

Maybe it's because I don't have any real experience with the nether, but I don't see anything that looks different than what I usually see in screens of the nether., Can someone point it out?

Sep 13, 2011MewMew34 posted a message on 1.8 Updates: Second Pre-Release Update Available!OMG I love you Jeb! I just noticed fog toggle seems to be back! I hit it out of habit, and it actually affected the screen! *does a happy dance* I can actually enjoy the update, now. It was horrible having it get so laggy and having to click through the options to change things.Posted in: News

Sep 13, 2011MewMew34 posted a message on 1.8 Updates: Second Pre-Release Update Available!@Rin310 Once you transfer the new file over why on earth would you take minecraft.jar back out? Unless you didn't bother to tell it to overwrite the old version there's only one minecraft.jar file in that folder, and it's the update you just installed, so you're only taking the update back out and leaving the game with no .jar file to work from. If you're telling it to leave the old one then maybe it trying to add numbers to the file is what's causing your problem, because it CAN'T have two of the exact same file in the folder, so one would have a number tacked on to it. Instead of taking crap out of the folder, just download the update, transfer it to the folder, and tell it to overwrite any pre-existing minecraft.jar file. It will replace the old with the new and you can play. If that still doesn't work then I don't know what to tell you, because there's no reason it shouldn't be working.Posted in: News

I'm currently trying to play 1.8 but it's being really laggy and with the Fog toggle gone, it's hard to try and fix the lag. -
Jul 28, 2011MewMew34 posted a message on 1.8 Updates: New Mob...Revealed?Agreed. I've had some ideas for my base for awhile but at this point I think I'm going to wait for 1.8 *hope they make it so squid stop despawning so I can have pets!* and impliment them then. I'll want to make a new world when 1.8 comes out so I don't have to explore so much for a chance at the new stuff, so I'd need to remake my base anyway.Posted in: News

Jul 28, 2011MewMew34 posted a message on 1.8 Updates: New Mob...Revealed?I hope they won't be able to take apart our houses or I'll have to make a point to set up a good defense perimeter around the roof of my house. I've considered it before anyway so I may have to now. May have to learn to use pistons and set up traps.Posted in: News
Maybe they're good guys, even though creepy looking, and they build new areas for you to explore? They aren't taking blocks but placing them, giving you more chance to gather resources even after you've cleared an area of anything useful. Probaby not, but it's fun to think. I mean, squid are pretty creepy looking if you get a good look at their mouths, and they're completely harmless. - To post a comment, please login.

Finally decided to play a version of the game newer than 1.8! Had to find a new texture pack since Painterly is no longer updated, but I really wanted to check out the new underwater update. I've already found a few treasure maps, and started building a large aquarium. As soon as I manage to find some diamonds I'm going to start on the process of making my own village via curing zombie villagers. I've got a small farm started that they can help me expand as I grow my village. Just need those diamonds so I can make a portal.

This. I spend most of my time in peaceful mode, simply because I prefer to explore without being harassed by skeletons and creepers all the time. I only turn mobs on if I need stuff from them, or am ready to cure Zombie Villagers and thus need zombies to spawn.

Not a whole heck of a lot, as I'm not as creative as pretty much everyone here. Started a new world to play around with the Lucky Block mod, and am currently trying to get the last bits and pieces I need to be able to start a village around my spawn point, since my current world didn't give me any nearby like my last two did. Trying to get another couple apples, and I'll need some more gold ingots to be able to make two more golden apples. Also need to build some houses that I can trap and cure zombie villagers in, and for them to live in after being cured. Hoping if I can cure three or four zombie villagers, that will be enough for them to start breeding without having to wait for weeks on end. Only curing two never gets me anywhere.

Ok, stupid question time. If I'm using a resource pack like the customs ones from Painterly, will the Lucky Block still show up properly, or will they not show up because the resource pack doesn't have the Lucky Block included in the new textures? Currently playing a world I made just for the Lucky Block mod, so hopefully I'll find out on my own by stumbling across a Lucky Block, but figured it can't hurt to ask anyway.
*edit*
Ok, so I CAN see Lucky Blocks in my game while using a resource pack, so that's good. Also, I love this mod. I've had a couple Supercharged Creepers spawn from the LBs when I hit them, but I also got a bunch of Prismarine related stuff (regular, dark, shards, sea lanterns, etc.) and just now opened a Lucky Block that gave me several enchanted books for skills like Looting II, Blast Protection III, and Silk Touch I, among others.

I checked the wiki. Unless I missed something I didn't see any mentions of if it were possible to control what type of villagers you get when you breed/cure them, nor did I see anything Specifically about villagers and snowballs. Just that snowballs don't damage anything but a certain Nether mob, and so they're a good way to push things around without killing them.

Also, random question, do villagers get angry if you throw snowballs at them? I don't want to try it on my lone villager and have him not trade with me anymore or something, but I was wondering if it was possible to throw snowballs at them without negative consequences or not.

That post is fairly confusing. All the examples of acceptable houses just show doors. No walls or anything else. I had a hard time making sense of the posts.
