_Tom_ posted a message on [Beta 1.7.3] Minecraft Beta 1.7.4 Custom Update Mod!Posted in: Minecraft ModsMinecraft Beta Custom Updates:
I have not been satisfied with Minecraft ever since hunger was introduced and have started releasing custom updates for what I believe Minecraft should have been.
Re-live the dream like its 2011!
Images:
The all new Spring Block (Jump Block) that launches you into the air when you walk on it. (Also launches mobs so its good for traps )
New Custom Launcher with OTA Updates:
New brick variants (Good for prison places)
Bright Grass, so you can make that soccer field you always dreamed of:
Working Minecart Boosters:
More gold and iron block styles to chose from! (Place 1 type in crafting to get the other type!)
Here is the Inventory Editor (InvEdit) Updated to support Beta 1.7.4:
Crafting Recipes:Craft Gears:
Craft Jump Block:
Craft Jump Block 2:
Craft redstone block like any other ore block:
You can un-craft the redstone block by putting in in the crafting grid alone (Just like any other ore block)
Craft Polished Bricks:
You can un-craft them in the same way they were made (put 1 polished brick in the grid)
New mechanics, stone bricks break into cracked stone bricks on break and you have to smelt to get them back (How smooth stone and cobble stone work)
Craft Stone bricks like in regular minecraft: (Make sure to also try it with cobblestone and stone/cracked bricks!)
Download links:
Download Beta 1.7.4 Launcher: Download Launcher
Inventory Editor (INVEdit) Revision 6: Download InvEdit R6
New! How to install:
Download and run launcher, it will do the rest for you!
How to update to latest version:
The launcher will ask you if you want to update once an update is available for you!
Manual Install and older versions:
Mod Loader 1.7.3: Download ModLoader
Inventory Editor Revision 5: Download InvEdit R5
Beta 1.7.4 Revision 5: Download Update 5Inventory Editor Revision 4: Download InvEdit R4
Inventory Editor Revision 3: Download InvEdit R3
Beta 1.7.4 Revision 4: Download Update 4
Beta 1.7.4 Revision 3: Download Update 3
Beta 1.7.4 Revision 2: Download Update 2
Beta 1.7.4 Revision 1: Download Update 1
Instructions for installing manually:
You have to download both files and install them both to your Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 jar. Install Mod Loader first then the Beta Updates Mod.
See this page for more information on how to install the above 2 files. Make sure you do it on your beta 1.7.3 jar and not other versions!
Old Manual Install instructions:
Compatibility with other mods Info:
This mod uses Mod Loader in order to be backwards compatible with Beta 1.7.3 mods. This means you can install beta 1.7.3 mods on beta 1.7.4. However if you install a mod that changes the HUD GUI display the mod will auto revert to saying its Beta 1.7.3 for compatibility reasons. So don't worry if installing Zombe's modpack suddenly made it appear like beta 1.7.3, you are on beta 1.7.4! This mod uses low value block IDs, starting from ID: 97 so most mods made in 2011 should work since they used high block IDs in order to be compatible with future Mojang releases. And yes this does work with TooManyItems (so don't ask again).
Multiplayer:
The 1.7.4 client is backwards compatible with 1.7.3 servers! A 1.7.4 server does not exist yet that's why I am looking for server developers in order to make this a bukkit plugin!
Inventory Editor Info:
The Inventory Editor is included because the main problem with old Minecraft version is the lack of tools. That is why InvEdit is included and updated to support Minecraft Beta 1.7.4's Blocks and Items. The revisions of the Inventory Editor reflect the revisions of the mod, so R3 works with Revision 3 of the mod. If sometimes a new version of Inventory Editor is released before the mod it might include upcoming blocks/items. Please don't try using these before you update your client!
InvEdit used to be maintained by copyboy and was written C#.
Manually Updating to a newer revision Instructions:
If you have played Beta 1.7.4 Revision 1 then you can update it by simply downloading Beta 1.7.4 Revision 2 and installing it over your old install and the updater will take care of the rest.
You do not need to download Mod Loader again to update your client. You only need to download Mod Loader to install it for the first time on a vanilla b1.7.3 jar.
Multiplayer Server Mod is being worked on. (Hopefully bukkit compatible!)
Currently the mod works with Minecraft Beta 1.7.3 servers
Signatures:
Support the mod and convince others that Minecraft Beta was better by using this signature!

leangreen76 posted a message on What have you done recently?Posted in: Survival ModeStarted a new win10 edition world.
For anyone that knows me, they know my main world (On the PC version, refuse to call it java version), of 6 years, 9 months is a home inside a mountain, so I decided to start one in the win10 edition. Now, it's not going to be just an exact copy, because that would be boring, there's be no waterfalls or lava waterfalls/water-windows, I'm just going to find a suitable mountain and see how it goes and develops.
So to find a really suitable mountain I had to do some travelling from spawn once I got my basic tools, and spent a few night just travelling and looking around with nothing much really taking my fancy. Finding that mountain that's just right would be hard. I did see one on the distance that looked promising, so I said goodbye to the Llamas I'd made friends with and headed off again. It meant heading through a desert, and I almost, almost missed this as it was so submerged:
By now my inventory was already getting full carrying seeds to plant, various saplings to start farms and that kind of thing. I actually ended up with two golden apples. If that wasn't enough I was going to leave the desert when I see a village, but seeing as it was turning night again, I figured I might as well spend the night there. This is also the first time I'd seen the Acacia variety of the village spawn.
I spent the night there and dumped my valuables in the chest (Gave them another chest to make it a double as well.) and cut down an acacia tree to give the doorless homes security. I was also on patrol during the night to protect them from the zombies and give a few creepers a lick with my sword. In the morning I headed off to find this plains/swamp land and an ominous mountain in the background.
I love how it's not too high and slopes towards the horizon, and finding that ready made cave hole for an entrance was a big winning sign. After spending my first night and securing spawn, I knew I wanted some stairs going up the mountain to the cave entrance, and had so spruce logs cut down after spawn to do it with.
It may not be pretty yet, but it's home:
Hit a creeper through the front door once, closed it in front of me and was blown back like I'd been hit, I looked around but it was daytime so there were no mobs. I opened the front door again for a second strike and the creeper had prematurley blown! There was plenty of distance between us and I only hit him once!
Was lucky not to loose anything.I've a few ideas on what I might want to do. On a nearby hill top across the stream I've planted the spruce and birch saplings to start a tree farm - may have lost or left behind at the village the oak sapling.

dustyshouri posted a message on DustyCraft v2 [Updated July 8th, 2017 for v1.12!]
It's been a long time coming! I started my old pack, DustyCraft a few years ago and I'm still working on it! However, I eventually started taking the pack in another direction... it wasn't the bright and cartoony pack people originally saw anymore. So I decided that when I'd sit down and really turn the pack around, break away from the roots and turn it into something NEW. So here it is, DustyCraft v2! Ya... not a very good name.
It's still not completely finished, but it's almost there! I do apologize for having to play with an incomplete pack, but it is a lot of work!
But I won't detract you with lengthy talk!
Minecraft now supports high-resolution packs by default so no special installation mods are necessary. Simply save the ZIP in your .minecraft/resourcepacks/ folder and enable it in your options. However, you can get more bang for your buck by using MCPatcher and Optifine as you get such benefits as mob-variety.

A texture pack spotlight by Niels074:
]
Q) Hey.... HEY. You STOLE a lot of the graphics in this pack! THIEF! I saw all of these in GeruDoku's pack first!
A) Yes, that is unfortunate. You did probably see some things like... the tools and weapons and maybe the cake or such in GeruDoku... or TyDoku's or various other texture packs first. That's because those packs are much more popular than my own. But I gave the people who made those packs permission to use MY graphics. Please check their credits.txt in their texture pack and you'll see my name there.
Q) You need to fix your pack! The nether is water, bricks have fire!
Q) Some items are broken, like the compass and watch! And the diamond pants have the default compass on them!
A) Do not fret! It simply means you did not patch the client as instructed. Navigate yourself to the above section and follow the instructions please.
Q) You need to update your pack! After I updated Minecraft a lot of textures are broken, like bricks and the nether!
A) Well, there are a few things that could be wrong. The most likely is that after you update Minecraft you lose your patched client. Please repatch to fix the above bugs. The alternative is that my pack really IS out of date, and that could be likely as well! However, you'll know when my pack is missing new textures because you'll see a bright pink texture instead.
Q) Hey, can I use your graphics in my pack?
A) Sadly, no. I once used to love to share my graphics and help other pack artists out... but it ends up way more trouble for me than it's worth. I get way too many accusations about my graphics and it really cripples my packs ability to stand on its own when any sort of recognition is plagued with theft accusations.
Q) Can I use your pack in my video?
A) YES! I try to watch as many youtube videos out there as possible when my pack is featured in them. You don't even have to ask, but I do ask that you link to my pack in your description so people know!
Q) Can I use your pack for my adventure map I'm making?
A) Awesome! Please do! I don't play adventure maps at all really, but if you do create a map and use my pack let me know so I can check it out personally! Also I know that adventure maps may need customized graphics so if you need to edit some things, feel free to. Again though, please link/credit me!
Q) I don't like how it looks! You should do x or y!
A) Art is a touchy subject. We all interpret and percieve it differently, therefor there will be times when one person may like how something looks and someone else may not. That is the hard part about making a texture pack, trying to appeal to everybody. The best I can do is try to appeal to the masses... however don't let that discourage you! I try my hardest to read every comment I can posted in my threads and address them personally. It may take months, but I have tried my absolute best to take every single criticism into consideration! In fact, my supporters are the ones who shaped this current pack into what it is today, by voicing their input. So thanks! Oh, and I do hope to eventually have a fully-custom-made customizer made by a friend JUST for my pack that will hopefully let everyone pick and choose what textures they like best.
Q) I tried to edit some graphics in your pack for personal use and it's broken now!
A) Aye, that can happen. Chances are you opened it in a program that doesn't support transparency, like MSPaint. You'll have to redownload and try again with something like the Gimp, or Graphics Gale, or Photoshop, which supports and saves transparency.
- You MAY use my pack in your videos or reviews, along with a link in the description.
- You MAY use my pack for your maps with proper credit and redirection to this thread.
- You MAY NOT use my graphics in part or whole for your texture pack if you intend to distribute it to others.
- You MAY NOT profit off of my graphics in any way, shape or form.
- If you have any questions about the above or anything else, please PM me.
I don't believe in forcing ads or profit out of my work. I do it for fun, and to share my enjoyment with you guys. So you won't find any adfly links or the such here, but if you do feel like I deserve some support, you can donate via here:

Mr_N_Derman posted a message on What have you done recently?Posted in: Survival ModeMC Day 10767: Have been updating a village that was near a stronghold about 800 blocks away from my main Desert base. I decided to dismantle the village and leave the villagers trapped in the church whilst I made a new building for them, a kind of large monastery was my initial concept, using the motif's found in the desert temples. I've now moved the villagers into their new abode, and left the original church standing (plus one house I extended for my temp base here). There is also another village within 120-140 blocks of the monastery which will be my next project. Meanwhile I just need to add some banners i think to the walls then it will be complete.
Other pics
Daily Worship!
Central sections. The centre of the desert temple pattern in the floor marked by a blue clay block is directly over the centre of the portal room in the stronghold, about 25 blocks below, and can be opened by a secret piston door (there is also a secret piston door entrance at the long end of the structure).

If it hadn't been for these two logs, I'd never have even found it. The rest is completely buried. I don't even think a chest spawned either.
2
After looking around, I think they're the powered/unpowered states of redstone repeaters.
1
It's poisonous, though, so it'd probably make more sense for it to make a "Bad Luck" potion. Could then throw in a fermented spider eye to change it into a normal "Luck" potion!
To me, I don't see Luck potions fitting. Would probably make more sense as a poison of nausea. This would give the effect similar to entering a nether portal. Could be useful in PVP to disorient opponents, or for map makers with custom potions. For balance, could probably have it not last very long.
As for what its inverse potion would be, I have absolutely no idea. Maybe it doesn't need one (water breathing doesn't have one, does it?).
1
The crops in villages generate naturally with the world. To me, saying that taking crops from a village near your spawn is cheating would be like saying mining cobblestone near your spawn is cheating. If it's there, use it!

What I have. It's worked for me so far, but then again, I play only single player, so your results may vary:
Sword:
Unbreaking III
Sharpness V
Mending
Looting III
Knockback II
Diamond Helmet:
Respiration III
Aqua Affinity
Protection IV
Unbreaking III
Mending
Diamond Chestplate:
Protection IV
Unbreaking III
Mending
Diamond Leggings:
Unbreaking III
Protection IV
Mending
Diamond Boots:
Depth Strider III
Feather Falling IV
Unbreaking III
Protection IV
Mending
Bow:
Power V
Punch II
Flame
Infinity
Unbreaking III
Mending
Note that with the bow, if you're playing on 1.11.2, you can't have mending and infinity on it. Either one or the other. I managed to get one, because I made mine in 1.11.

Mostly because I can do whatever I want in it. I like games where I'm given a lot of freedom. I can shape the world how I want it to be. I can make whatever I want. I can go anywhere and do anything I want. Add in skins, and you can be anything you want! If what I want to do isn't in the game currently, I'm almost certain there's a mod I can install that will add it, thanks to the modding community! Plus, with each new update, there are more things to do, more sights to see, more things I can make. Best of all, it's endless. I can play forever.
Just my two cents.
1
Usually I will build near my world spawn. Otherwise, just depends on what I'm wanting to do. I usually like plains, forest, or mega taiga biomes. If I find some really cool terrain, I may build there too, regardless of biome.
1
I have some pictures of it some other pages back. It's a giant tree. This was taken from one of the stairs outside.
Screenshot was taken probably around the top right.
Currently redoing the top floor (the weird, dome shape up top). Wanted it to look nicer than in this picture.
2
It's been a while since my post as well, aha.
Finished this courtyard thing. Took me forever to gather all of those flowers, too, but I like it!
Redid a spider grinder I had. Made one out of a cave spider spawner. It's provided me a decent supply of string so far.
Finally finished my underground section, and added in a section to grow crops. Have some redstone wired up so it'll dump water on them once they're fully grown, and carry them to some hoppers.Breaks pumpkin/melon blocks, too. Took forever to get it wired up correctly, too.
Besides that, I've basically gotten the chests from outside sorted inside, finished the storage room, and am getting ready to redo the top of the tree, so it looks like an actual tree. I'm probably gonna spend the next month getting log/leaf blocks for this, too.
3
Really just want survival mode, with no pvp, some basic grief protection plugins, and a mature community that actually feels like a community and not just a bunch of random people talking to each other on some server (people actually playing the game together, most servers everyone just spreads out and no one interacts with anyone, chat is often either full of spam or dead). I don't really need 3 million plugins or whatever. Sadly, I don't think this exists anymore, haha.
