I really like this new cobblestone texture! I think it looks a lot nicer than the other one that was made.

Oh cool! They actually made it! Now I can get this and play it on my 3DS when I'm out!
...except I can't, because it's a New 3DS exclusive, and I only have the original one. Oh well. I'm honestly surprised it even came out for the 3DS at all, even if it did wind up being a N3DS exclusive. Looks like a sort of watered-down version of Pocket Edition. Probably still wouldn't mind having this or the Switch version, just so I could play it on the go.

Um, April Fools was like a week ago...
In all seriousness, this really feels like Paid Steam Mods 2.0. There was a lot of backlash when they offered the ability to sell mods for games like Skyrim. They eventually removed this because of all the complaints. I don't see this working out too well, but I guess time will tell. Judging by the comments, it doesn't seem like many other people like the idea, either.

Um, color changing parrots? Haha I'm sorry, what? I like that they will dance now. Don't get the color changing thing, but the dancing part sounds adorable!
Guess I'm gonna have to put off finding a jungle biome now, until this update comes out. I want some parrots in my world, now! -

My hopes of a 3DS Minecraft are just about gone now. Oh well! Will probably pick this version up if I get a Switch.

I dunno, I feel you should get more back from smelting some items. Like chestplates. They cost 8 ingots to make, yet you only get a single nugget back? Seems like it should be 1-2 ingots. I understand not getting all 8 ingots back, but only a nugget makes it hardly worth recycling old armor. At least it makes sense for tools only giving back a single nugget!
Rocket-powered flying sounds fun! I'll finally get a use for all that gunpowder I've collected my entire playthrough!
I suppose Mending+Infinity on a bow was pretty overpowered. I've been using it on my world. I've almost never needed to use my sword now. Wonder if it'll remove one of the enchantments if I update my game version?

That's kind of how it feels to me, too. Just feels like stuff that didn't make it into 1.9. -

A pre-release already? That... doesn't seem right. This was a fairly quick update!

Minecraft 3DS Edition coming next? Would be nice to see, if it's at all possible!

Jul 1, 2013Metalwario posted a message on The Horse Update: 1.6 Is Now Live!Dunno if it's a bug or not, but when I checked my tame wolf, it looked to still have the wild wolf texture, just with a collar. I kinda like it, though!Posted in: News
EDIT: After logging off/on, it switched back to the normal tame wolf texture. - To post a comment, please login.

Didn't they already do something similar to the fake e-store thing? I thought that was what the 2010 "Locked Chest" thing was about.

Thorns is probably good for PVP, but doesn't it damage your armor faster? If you do a lot of PVP, then go wild! Otherwise it's kind of a useless enchantment in my book.

Play the game for what it is, not who plays it. Even if the "only 12 year olds play it" thing is true (which it isn't), the game itself is still really fun!

Nothing shameful or wrong about peaceful mode. I'd probably play on peaceful, too, if it weren't for the fact that the hostile mobs drop some good stuff sometimes, and that my zombie xp grinder wouldn't work. I like peaceful mode. I can play without worrying about sunset, and afk anywhere, without worrying about getting attacked.

What I have. It's worked for me so far, but then again, I play only single player, so your results may vary:
Sword:
Unbreaking III
Sharpness V
Mending
Looting III
Knockback II
Diamond Helmet:
Respiration III
Aqua Affinity
Protection IV
Unbreaking III
Mending
Diamond Chestplate:
Protection IV
Unbreaking III
Mending
Diamond Leggings:
Unbreaking III
Protection IV
Mending
Diamond Boots:
Depth Strider III
Feather Falling IV
Unbreaking III
Protection IV
Mending
Bow:
Power V
Punch II
Flame
Infinity
Unbreaking III
Mending
Note that with the bow, if you're playing on 1.11.2, you can't have mending and infinity on it. Either one or the other. I managed to get one, because I made mine in 1.11.

Well, I've been playing since like beta 1.8. I liked these servers. These are over the course of like 6 years. Most of the time, I usually stuck to 1 or 2 servers at a time. The first one I mentioned I stuck around with the longest, was even staff on it a few times. Stuck around at 1.0 through 1.7.10, through multiple closings, and reopenings. If they came back today, I'd be on there now, aha.

I have no strong feelings one way or the other. I like shields, though, so I guess 1.9+. I usually just adapt to game changes quick, and don't worry too much about it. It doesn't feel broken, so I'm perfectly ok either way.

Oh my, there's several.
One was made for an iOS community. It went through like a hundred different shutdowns, and revivals. Joined it back in 1.0, and had a house by the ocean, with this giant terrace with everything, and like 20 wolves (before you could breed them even. Had to tame them all!). Each time the servers shut down it was generally the same reason: Lack of donations to keep the server running. Finally, by 1.7, the community just didn't seem all that interested in Minecraft anymore, and so it's been down ever since. They planned on returning again in 1.8, but alas, no word from them since.
Another was the first server I ever played on. I think it was named "Deltacraft" or something similar. Was just a small server with a few people on it. I remember building a house up on a hill, and slowly, other people gathered around mine and built nearby. Turned into a village overnight! What was cool about it, was there was a castle someone else had made nearby, so it overlooked the town. One other person and I set off one day to find a new spot to build. We found one, and started work on making a new town there, in a taiga by the sea. I don't know why this one went down. May have been a server someone hosted on their PC, and everyone else just lost interest. Been down ever since beta 1.8.
Third one I stumbled upon accidentally. I had a server saved for a long time, but never accessed it until like 2 months later. It changed ownership. Not sure how true it was, but they claimed something about being for listeners of Maple Radio (I guess something to do with Maplestory?). They were confused how I even found them, but they seemed alright with me being there for the time. I think they were still setting it up, and weren't really open yet. One of them liked a house I built on a corner. Eventually it changed, and I think they officially opened. The community was pretty decent, and everyone was focused on building in town and making it look nice. Their IP changed one day, and I didn't get it, so I have no clue what happened to the server. Could still be up for all I know!
Last one on my list was a Pixelmon server called "Heartsilver", I think. They had a map of Johto and everything. Parts were unfinished, but they were constantly trying to expand the map. I liked exploring it, mostly. I remember on my first day, we found a Mew and caught it (not me, but I did get to watch!). It was pretty cool! It shut down eventually, since people stopped playing it. It came back later on, but I didn't bother staying around long. Not sure if it's still around today or not. It's been a few years.
There's others, but I don't wanna go on forever!

I like either having a specific building just for chests and storage, or mining out a big room underground, and putting the chests there.

Usually I will build near my world spawn. Otherwise, just depends on what I'm wanting to do. I usually like plains, forest, or mega taiga biomes. If I find some really cool terrain, I may build there too, regardless of biome.

I dunno, I find myself going through a lot more food now. I personally don't mind. I have so much, so it's good to be able to burn through some of it, and save chest space. Then again, most of the time, gameplay changes rarely affect me. I adapt fairly quick.

Poisonous Potato - Absolutely useless. Not even good if your hunger bar is empty.
Bat - Ambience. They don't do much, but it makes caves less empty and dead.
Endermite - Don't they spawn from ender pearls now? Kind of a punishment for using them too much.
Silverfish - Almost as challenging as baby zombies. At least they're slow and weak.
Polar Bear - Never seen them, but it helps fill in the world, making it less empty.
Llama - Item transportation. I like how they follow each other when you use a lead.
Snow Golem - Free, infinite snow.
Pig - Wasn't there a point where porkchops were better than steak? Thought they had more saturation. Otherwise, alternative food source.
Ocelot/Cat - Creeper repellent.
Wolf/Dog - Skeleton repellent / Body guard. Just don't take them into caves with you, or use arrows near them.
Clock - I always have this with me. It's handy knowing how much time until sunrise/sunset, without needing to be above ground.
Overall, poisonous potato is the most useless, and makes the least sense to me. None of the other crops have "bad" variants, so I don't know why the potato does.

Reminds me of a server I stumbled upon way back when. Ah, memories!
1.1 was a blast. May create a 1.0/1.1 profile, and go play an old seed I used at the time.

If the seed worked in 1.2.5, and you are playing version 1.2.5, then yes, it will work.

I have some pictures of it some other pages back. It's a giant tree. This was taken from one of the stairs outside.
Screenshot was taken probably around the top right.
Currently redoing the top floor (the weird, dome shape up top). Wanted it to look nicer than in this picture.
