I had a dream last night that I was playing a modpack (Yes, i'm that addicted to MC. Strangely, i played TF2 and not MC the day before), and Tinkers construct was a part of it. Someone was showing me a "record factory" they had that involved TC tools. When someone was confused by how it worked, I explained this to them:
Records can be made by taking plates of different materials and chiseling them in a crafting area. Different colors relate to different types of disks. For example, chiseling a gold plate gives record 13 (gold center), while pig iron gave chirp (A red striped disk).
I am dead serious. This appeared in my dream last night. I did not make this up for humor. For something that appeared in my dream, this actually makes some sense. The problem is that this might be a bit overpowered and take the treasure value out of disks. But some metals are somewhat hard to obtain. This might work instead:
A record can be made by an obsidian disk, a chisel, dye, and a diamond or a rare item from TC.
Broken disks (11) can be made by smashing a jukebox with a record in it with a hammer.
I wouldn't really post otherwise, but I thought this was interesting.

Dec 22, 2013I tried installing ChickenCore and NEI with the middle earth mod, and it crashed. I put the crash report in a pastebin and in the spoiler below. I also put in the data for the development console. All of the mods are the correct version and I have installed all of the mods required. Although I don't know anything about minecraft's code, it looks like the mcmeta files for other mods are being removed.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
EDIT: After actually reading the post, I went and found the most recent ForgeModLoader-Client file and put it on pastebin, which I assume is what Chickenbones meant by the forge log. This file was the result of ONLY ChickenCore and NEI being installed. All other mods were temporarily removed. I will read the post for NEI a lot and test to see if I can get this working
EDIT: Just in case anyone was wondering, I am using the latest forge. I may reinstall or see if I am using the right versions of the mods. May attempt to use earlier versions
EDIT: IMA GENUS! I UZED DEVELUPMINT VERSUN OF NEI WITH NORMALL CHIKINCOUR
I have installed the recomended NEI and replaced the development version with it. Sorry for not checking this first.
Dec 21, 2013I play the Middle Earth mod for minecraft 1.6.4, which adds it's own ores. Because it's not too well known, I a sure these ores won't be added anytime soon. This mod looks beautiful, so I hope that either one of these will be added:Posted in: Minecraft Mods
-A Config file for adding new ores
-Access to Forge's ore dictionary (Actually not sure if this exists, I've just heard about it)
-A tutorial for modifying this to add ores (Hardest for users, but easiest for you)
I know that making a mod isn't easy, which is why there are mods like the Layman mod maker and tools like MineCreator. I do not expect anyone to do something just because one person wanted it. I just wanted to throw these ideas out there and see if it goes through or suggests something new that you find interest in
Note: I have tested, and the ores added to not regen already. I didn't want to post and then see that they do. Even then, these ores exist in a new dimension, and may not be added to Forge's Ore dictionary, if it exists.

Okay, I HAVE Googled it, which led me here, and I still haven't found a defninite answer. Please don't use the "Let me Google that for you" if you can't find the answer through google yourself. You aren't helping.
I was finally able to find a resource that says that gold is equaly common between levels 5 and 20, but 12 is best for avoiding lava.

Update: This seems to be made with mcreator, and I am pretty sure that you cant post mods made with that here...
MCreator is not against the rules, but everyone hates it. I don't understand why everyone hates it, as they weren't the ones coming out with the bad mods and allows people who aren't that good at programming to use their imaginations

And it's created with MCreator...
So what? All MCreator did was give people without previous programming knowledge the ability to create mods.
Just because the printing press was invented at one point, it didn't mean that all of the books made with it were garbage because the people couldn't copy it by hand.

worst mod name ever. the author is even lazy to write proper description. not even images. i wonder, what kind of code mess inside the mod.

Sry if my english isnt correct. Im from Hungary.
Give the guy a BREAK. How do you think they would feel if you went on a Hungarian forum and wrote in bad Hungarian because you haven't learned it yet?
Sep 9, 201362: Try to create a adventure map in survival modePosted in: Discussion
63: Try to create redstone devices, either from your own or someone elses plans.
64(1 Stack of suggestions): Use obsidian to create a creeper-proof home
I don't like to list tedious tasks, such as "Make a pool with all of the lava from 30,000 chunks around your home with one bucket"
Sep 9, 2013The way I dig tunnels downward is by digging so that each stair has 4 blocks of space above them (I found that it is quicker to run down these and easier to find ores this way)Posted in: Discussion
One time, I was exploring a mineshaft, when I saw the start of one of my stairways. Except I didn't make it myself.
MAYBE the world generator did it, but I honestly don't know. For all I know, I could have made it, not lit the area around it, and forgot I made it.
Sep 9, 2013I wouldn't recomend not being someone's friend just because they believe that Herobrne exists.Posted in: Discussion
Part of being friends is having to deal with each other. It is really your choice, not ours.
I think the best thing to do is to not pursue the subject. Rather than force the notion that he isn't real, try to back away from the subject (Still talk and listen to them, but just lightly) and let your friend think about it, rather that strengthening their belief because you disagree with them and they get mad.
(In all honesty, I did find a stairway in a cave that was dug out exactly like I dig staircases, but I didn't make it. I won't instantly claim that it's Herobrine, but it is a little strange.)
Sep 9, 2013Quick suggestion. What if spider webs contained tiny spiders? They would be mainly black/blue, run away when the cobweb is being attacked or a player goes in/near it, and they will run to larger spiders when they come close enough.Posted in: Suggestions
Sep 9, 2013I like your suggestion, but I think that, like bats, they should be more decorative than a actual mob to hunt. They can be useful in finding jungle and swamp biomes to a extent.Posted in: Suggestions
Also, Maybe the witches randomly drop frogs on the ground? Also, similar to how a iron golum gives roses to villagers, witches could give mushrooms to nearby frogs.
Sep 9, 2013On one hand, The roses worked well with the yellow flowers and looked nice. They were a fairly easy way to get red dye.Posted in: Suggestions
On the other hand, we can always retexture the new flower. Also, Roses coming from bushes actually makes much more sense.
I honestly don't know what to say.
Jul 30, 2013This is a neat idea, but a few things:Posted in: Suggestions
-Tripwires are now in minecraft. Although they aren't 100% hidden, neither would this block.
-I think that the recipe should also require an eye of ender. This would make the block more balanced, and would also make some sense
-Maybe one of the variants of this block can have a distance that is decided by the amount of redstone power going into the back/sides, or it can at least be disabled.
