posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)

I currently am using my work 3d modeling computer out've curiosity, a GTX 980ti, 24Gb RAM, 3.6Ghz i7 CPU, SSD boot drive. No texture pack, no shaders, and no other mods. I had an issue where even on medium settings chunks refused to load no matter how long I waited. I tried Optifine to see if if any updates would fix it and alas, same issues as before, random lag and occasional crash, and still the chunks would not load in my newly created world. I've had these same issues everytime I've tried Optifine previously on my other PCs as well.

Sadly in short, for some reason Optifine seems to negatively effect my fps even on multiple PCs regardless of mods or updates (considering this has occurred both times I've tried this mod before).

I wasn't saying people deserve harassment or anything (but ultimately everyone gets harassed on the internet, male or female), I just pointed out that women are quite rare outside of casual games, which may be why people often make a huge fuss over it.

I know, I wasn't implying you were. I was merely setting stance. I've seen you also acknowledged that of course they deserve the same treatment everywhere.

My Argument was simply stating that they're more common then you think, they may often: A: Don't care to reveal gender as it doesn't matter (or they simply don't play too many online games ie. Skyrim so people don't see them as often), B: Reveal gender and get the usual pre-pubescent treatment seen too often, or finally C: hide gender purposefully for reason B.
(Not saying they always get treated that way online but it's too common)

I'm pretty sure the statistic of half of gamers are women includes mobile games and facebook games. Yeah sure they are still gamers, but that isn't usually what people think of when they hear 'girl gamer'.

Maybe, but there are plenty of guys who stick to the same type of games as well, flappy bird, mafia wars etc. We need more statistics to provide an accurate data sample but I can vouch that half of my facebook female friends are real gamers, heck me and my fiancee got together because of our mutual love for gaming.
It's not quite even, there's still too much sexism (as this topic and the harassment towards females in games can no doubt be an easy example), but it's getting closer every year.
The main point being, whether or not female gamers should play video games, it's that they defintely are playing in huge numbers and everyone else should just accept that and have fun gaming as well.
To me the point of gaming is escaping reality and becoming someone/something else so who or what you are in reality no longer matters in my opinion.

I'm disin-favor of anything that reinforces labels of any kind.
    Come'on people, it's the 21rst century.

We have cars driving themselves, planned manned missions to mars, exoskeletons for paraplegics, and the ability to communicate with anyone anywhere through technology regardless of language or race.
So why are we still arguing or even asking if women should play video games?

I'll ask a better question, should people play videogames. If you answered yes, then you answered whether someone who by chance or choice doesn't identify as a male should play games.

According to demographics there are twice as many females to males in the United States, also according to various surveys (Here's one such: http://www.theesa.com/facts/pdfs/esa_ef_2014.pdf) females make up almost half the gamers out there.

So yeah, girl gamers... I think of them as I would any other gamer and will treat them as any other.

Malwarebytes is not intended for real-time use. Only scanning and killing.
MSE is made for an AV solution since it is in the background.

Malwarebytes Pro alongside SpyBot provides pretty decent real-time protection.
The free version of MBAM however, you are correct though. Mostly used for quick scan, I apologize.

Do you think Indie games are getting really over rated Example Rock Simulator, Goat Simulator ect?

As many have stated, those examples are definitely good examples of bad games.
However that's a hasty generalization logical fallacy.
The Mount and Blade series are indie games but really good in my opinion.

I think it's more fair to say that there are an increasing number of people looking to make a quick buck and therefore make stupid easy games.

Your reasoning? Its Definitely not a bad virus killer. I meant to say, It locks down the system and scans them for active virus's & root kits. Dr web has saved my computer from some of those serious virus's which lock down your entire computer. Namely the root kit Windows Defender 2012. This program was suggested to me by several IT technicians.

I've never used Dr. Web so I can't say yay or nay but I would take what IT techs say with a grain of salt. 'We' are usually only allowed to endorse the 'official' software used by the company/university.
I've been a IT tech for almost 6 years and we endorse MS Security Essentials when asked at work, which I would normally tell people Malwarebytes.
Just food for thought and a Google search tells me Dr. Web isn't bad for an anti-viral.

Past two Fallouts felt more like action games then tactical survival and strategy to be honest.

I don't mind the combat at all, but make the survival more realistic and interesting like adding a reason to survive. The Fallout series in my humble opinion has always seemed to lack a real connection other characters. Probably Amata and James (dad) from FO3 were the best but not quite to par.
I'm bias anyway to Bioware's characters.

But with all the survival games released and games like Last of Us, I think Fallout 4 will have good batch of fan feedback to get some good work in.

Fallout was never trying to be a survival game.

I'm aware, the originals true but 3 and NV had survival element. Consider New Vega's Hardcore mode for example.

I don't remember anything like that being in 3. New Vegas had some survival stuff, but it was just a little extra bit of difficulty.

For FO3 I refer more to the atmosphere rather then gameplay.
I've always played games for their story and roleplay values.

    Minor Spoiler Warning:
Fallout 3 had a massive atmosphere of people just making it day to day, Megaton, a quintessential junkyard haven in a nuclear desert with people fighting to get in and get water.
People attacking anyone who gets too close for fear of being betrayed (Minefield).
Small communities on the verge of collapse due to constant assaults (Bridge Town and Big Town).

New Vegas added the Hardcore mode in which you had to eat, sleep, drink, and use stimpacks more strategically.
Of course the Hardcore mode was far too easy once you got started. That's what I mean when I said "Make the survival more realistic and interesting".

posted a message on Why do people enjoy Trolling kids?
Nothings changed, just the medium. Before the internet age, people (adults and teens alike) trolled kids outside in other ways.

For various reasons, just for a laugh, to be a jerk, to vent for a bad day, or in honest attempt at a joke. Kids just make easier targets for this.
Which on that note, it's not that they are kids explicitly, it's that they're easy targets.
An adult who takes the game way too seriously may also be a potential target on minecraft for these people.

It's the same thing as before, just now the internet allows for greater interactivity and social connections.

Hyrule Warriors, yes, I really need to try this game. I'm essentially getting a WiiU for this game. Of course as a gamer I grew up on Zelda and Nintendo.
    This game looks amazing.

I haven't actually played the Orochi series.
    Samurai Warriors is really cool.
I actually liked the first one the best as its the only one with the CAW (Create-a-Warrior).
    Which was done pretty well.

But yeah, at first it's definitely overwhelming.
Everytime I get the next version in the series I relearn the new characters (which usually are the generic officers given more purpose)
    and their stories.

Sorry to hear you didn't like it too much.
Try the newer Dynasty Warriors, DW 8.
The story is better told. There are more characters but it's best to play through a few of the characters of the same kingdom to really get a feel for that kingdom's story.
There are actually several movies depicting the era too like Chi Bi (or Red Cliff on Netflix), The Assassins (also on netflix).

Of course lets be honest, the gameplay is awesome that's what's its really about in this series, going in full charge throwing down a few hundred peons. DW 8 hasn't changed the formula too much just the amount of weapons to choose from.

    posted a message on Cyberbullying
The largest issue I feel is that more and more people are now connected to the internet at a younger and younger age.
With cyber school, social networking, online gaming. The internet is the mainstream to connect to other people.
With the anonymity the internet provides their will no doubt be people who abuse it.

The point I'm coming to is that, some people live alot of their lives on the internet now. People who have more friends on facebook, forums, and online games than in person is becoming quite common.
So these people are the most at risk, people can much easier be targeted and attacked by others for little reason.

Once the damage is done though, especially to people who already have insecurities. This anonymity is now still working against the victim as it's so easy for them to hide the damage that the attack had done as revealing it more only serve to validate the insecurity to the world or to even themselves. With nobody able to personally see the person to counsel them, the damage becomes worse.

I feel there are two ways to mitigate this.
    A. Responsibility of parents/guardians and friends to teach some maturity to people. On both sides as well, the maturity to not bully someone simply because you're protected over the internet, and the maturity to not let some coward to afraid to show themselves in person get under their skin.
    B. For people to see they have escape routes. It doesn't take much to use a block button on some forum or facebook. If it's bad report them to a moderator or even the police if it's that serious and previous methods aren't working.

I do agree strongly that people shouldn't take people on the internet too seriously. There's alot of information out there and much of it is hateful, just stay true to yourself and learn to ignore the nonsense.
