I'm not sure what would qualify as sufficient interest, but I'll throw mine in there. This is by far my favorite server, and I'd be glad to see it stay around.

If it doesn't, though, I'd like to thank Mithion for keeping it up as long as he did. (I mean, even if it continues thank you for keeping it up as long as you did, but in particular prompted by conclusion.) I had a lot of fun playing on here.

Having a Technic option is a recent enough development. I don't know why you so vehemently don't want to use Technic, easy as it is, but the only other way available is downloading them all individually. It really doesn't take that long.

Not having a bed or a book doesn't stop you from having weapons and armor. This is what I mean about how you should play smart. Punching spiders to death is clearly not.

Carrying a backpack is optional. Being anywhere near monsters ever while trying to find a place to set up is, ultimately, optional. I can't remember the last time I died while I was looking for a location for my base, because I'm careful. Also, it usually takes more than an hour. Doing things in a way that works takes effort, and, unfortunately, time. I find that it's usually much better than doing them in a way that doesn't work fifteen times before you succeed by sheer luck.

I think that Tinker's Construct adds a recipe for books that uses a pattern, paper and string. I could be wrong. Notably, wool can also be crafted with string. Also, if you go in an oblique direction, you're very likely to encounter animals just a few thousand blocks out. And beds can be remarkably unecessary. I've gone for ages while setting up thousands and thousand of blocks out, and just avoided dying, without a bed.

I can't help you with the magic beans.

I've joined fairly late in several incarnations of this server. It makes it harder to set up, yes, but not by that much. Just play smart.

Edit: Also, the server site's changed styles three times that I've counted today. What's with that?

Not going to waste the admins' time suggesting mods (though I will add a 'I second that!' to MineandBlade and CustomNPCs, mostly I'd jsut like to see the server resources "fixed" I literally had to walk like 2-4KM from spawn to find cows and twice that to find a magic forest with silverwood --- and still found no magic beans (which would drive some less responcible players to start destroying nodes for ethereal essance........) Otherwise, I'm quite happy with the server ^_^

That's fairly tame, honestly. What you're asking is, I guess, for the area near spawn to have its resources replenish periodically? Which would be hard to accomplish. Increasing resource density wouldn't change much, except to make people who find their own areas even richer. I honestly find the idea of walking less than 5000 blocks or so before setting up base kind of odd.

Neither of them seem like them seem like they would be too much to me. Diamonds aren't exactly hard to get on this server in the first place.

I'm not in favor of adding it, but not strongly so. I just disapprove of adding mods that don't add that much to the game to an already-very-large modpack.

The last time I was playing actively, I couldn't have Optifine with the modpack without Minecraft crashing on startup. (Or possibly on loading a world. I can't remember.) I'm fairly certain I had tracked it to a conflict between Optifine and BoP. It may have been TConstruct, though. TConstruct seems to be rather belligerent towards me. I'm sure it could have been stealthily interfering.

I still honestly just don't like the mod. It has a handful of biomes that I like, and another handful that are unique enough for me to think that they deserve to exist. After that, there are seemingly dozens of samey forests and plains and mountains. Some of them (enough of them for it not to be interesting) have snow. Perhaps ten percent of the biomes are worth having.

I have to concede that it makes exploring more interesting, though. It also makes it much more necessary.

I suspect that it's a bit late, but I just remembered I never got around to petitioning for the removal of BoP. There are a few reasons that I'd like to do so. The first is that it reduces the availability of biome dependant resources. Desert novas, for instances, are less common with it, because there are proportionally less sand-based biomes. Resources that are actually biome-dependant are even worse — desert novas just need sand. And there have been a few times when someone complained about not getting any moonstones, and I later found out that they were in a biome like a lavender meadow or a sacred whatsitcalled where there wasn't any uncovered grass. That's a rather unpleasant noob trap, especially considering how rare they are regardless.
The second is that it conflicts with Optifine, which is a rather useful mod, in my experience.
The third is that, for all those downsides, it doesn't add gameplay. It makes the world look prettier, but its presence isn't going to change how long any given player stays active on the server by much. It doesn't make the game more actively fun. There wouldn't be much more lost if it was removed.

A few other players have expressed that they would like the frequency of its' biomes to be reduced, and I think someone a few pages back even expressed an opinion similar to mine. If it's not too late in the server set-up process, I think it should be removed from the mod list.

Does anyone know when the server's updating? It doesn't have to be to the minute, but it would be nice to know if it's updating this week, or next week, or in october, or so forth.

Hi. I'm back. Or, more accurately, I'm trying to be back.
I've installed each mod successfully except for the two TConstruct mods. I'm getting a class not found errors either originating from or referring to tconstruct/library/tools/ToolCore.class. I assume that it's originating from there, because the class in question does exist.
I seem to be digressing. If anyone has information related to this minor plight of mine, please share it. I'll see you on the server, later, with luck.

After continued experimentation, I've found that the TConstruct version required is the only mod that isn't working for me. I replaced it with the up-to-date version without changing any other mod and that worked. It didn't let me connect to the server, though, so I reverted. Then I removed every mod except for it, and minecraft still crashed upon startup. I reverted to an earlier version of 1.6.4 forge, and it's still not working. I'm still trying to figure out a solution.

During my time spent between playing on this server and attempting to, my dislike of TConstruct has grown and grown. Every time I've been unable to get the mods working, it's been responsible.

I have summoned a shade elemental to do battle with, and, erm... It seems to have crashed the server somewhat.

The mods in the parentheses are the exceptions. Those not mentioned are those that are not... Again, likely with a few exceptions.

You do realize most of those are almost entirely pointless fluff mods that won't serve any significant purpose but to make it take longer for new players to get the whole package installed? The rest, with a few exceptions(CraftHeraldry, Craftable Horse Armor, Ropes+), seem either not to fit the theme or be very questionably balanced.

Did the Server Crash? Are they doing maintenance? I came in to check the server while the Niece and Nephew got their baths and its been down for 20+ minutes now(possibly longer) Hopefully the server is getting worked on. I'll check back in a bit.

When it closed it was with "Server closed", not a crash message, so presumably it's being worked on. That was about two hours ago, I believe, so it may or may not be back up when you check back.
