    I found a stage 5 in a cavern in an extreme hills biome but it was already dead. It wasn't a skeleton or anything, it was just lying there and at first I thought it was sleeping but when I got a closer look it had 0 hp. Also there were no eggs there

    I was thinking of the bit in the Hobbit where Bilbo is in Smaug's lair, invisible and came up with this:

    Invis pots work like they do in vanilla on stage 1 and 2 dragons, they are confused by the seemingly sourceless sounds and smells but are too young/inexperienced to grasp their significance

    Stage 3 dragons are starting to notice the connection between those strange sounds and smells and loot going missing and will sometimes attack invisible players that wander too close to their dens

    Stage 4 and 5 dragons are wise to the idea of invisible creatures that try to steal their loot and will attack players regardless of whether or not they're invisible

    I'm generally ok with the changes to combat in 1.9. The cooldown isn't my favourite thing in the world but I can live with it, the skeletons running away are annoying but wolves sort them out. What I'm not a big fan of is the nerf to armour and the protection enchant. So I was curious, what level of protection on diamond in 1.9 do you need to get the same protection that you would in 1.8? And how you create a villager that trades each piece of diamond armour plus 3 lapis for diamond armour with the required level of protection?

    I'm using the 1.8.9 version and I've been working things out mostly by trial and error but I've reached an impasse. I try to make paper tool parts by putting the stencil and paper in the part builder but nothing happens. The recipe that JEI gives me for firewood doesn't make a lot of sense: it says that it consumes the cast but I don't see on on the picture and it looks like lava is in the smeltery but I can't figure out how to get it there as opposed to in the fuel. Finally how do you get knightslime?

    A config file so people can set the IDs the different dimensions would be handy. It hasn't happened to me yet but if two mods added different dimensions with the same ID and neither had a config file to change them... Also the skystone seems to be interfering with other mods adding flight. My plan was to use the skystone until more OP but later game methods of flight were available to me.


    Having and infinite lava source is very handy for a tinker's smeltery and having ways of getting infinite vanilla resources like gold and diamonds is very useful for mods that require a lot of them

    Thing is, although I don't have an RF mod installed per say, I do have version 1.5.5 of Power Advantage and its Steam Advantage and Electric Advantage addons. The addons provide generators that produce joules and the base mod adds RF transformers

    posted a message on 1.9 PVE Tips

    I needed practise with the new combat system in 1.9 so I turned keepInventory on, gave myself a stack of steak, some stone swords and a shield. I knew it was going to be harder than 1.8 but I didn't realise just how hard. Zombies weren't so bad, if I time my swords swings right I can knock them back before they can do too much damage and keep knocking them back if I'm quick enough about attacking after the meter recharges. They only time they caused real problems was when I got a horde of them attacking me and this one pesky baby zombie. Creepers are interesting, I'll hit them once and then back away but they just explode anyway. I haven't fought endermen yet but I assume that the old strat of hiding under a 2 block space and attacking them still works. Skeletons though, they are a real pain. I can't rush them if I don't have a bow like I used to. I can block with my shield while I approach them but that takes forever. If I'm lucky I can get one backed up a against a wall so they can't retreat, it doesn't even have to be a wall, they don't seem to get that they can jump backwards up a block. I know I could use a bow but I would have to fight some mobs first to get the string anyway, so I thought I'd get the hang of sword and shield first.


    Overall, I am not the biggest fan of the new combat system but since the alternatives are to wait for either a 1.8 mod that adds the new features minus the new combat system, or wait for a 1.9 mod that adds the old system including unnerfing sharpness + armour I figured I'd at least try not to be completely hopeless at it
