As I said before, basically booting Java Edition in favor of the "M$" editions will cost them way more than it worth at this point in time.
Will it hit the fans? Yes every single game always and WILL hit the fan. It just WHEN they do. But I highly doubt it will be M$ just cutting the cord while it steaming hot.
The cross isn't happening because M$ just looking to cash in MC while they can. If that doesn't means shutting down Java Edition it means putting it on other platforms and using Java Edition as a loss leader.
Maybe not directly but all they have to do is pull the plug on the authentication servers - even singleplayer requires that you log in at least once in order to play (I believe you need an account to play even demo mode) and while that can easily be bypassed without cracking the game* multiplayer would require using a cracked launcher, which is illegal (so is distributing the game unless it were made open source, so no new users would legally be able to play). Of course, they let you switch a server to "offline mode" simply by editing a line in server.properties so you can log in without an authenticated account so there's that (one can only imagine the security issues though, especially on a large server, unless there are plugins for that).
*The game itself does not care if you are logged in or not; in fact, if you play 1.6.4 or earlier versions on the current launcher they do not receive a session ID; the only effect that I noticed was that the Realms button no longer appears, not that it works anyway for any version older than the latest.
But the AFTER EFFECT is what not going to be easily absorbed. Cutting the line is easiest thing a business can do. It's the PR, legal fights (people and even businesses that revolves around the game), and even their rep at large.
Why would anyone wanna pay for a M$ product again knowing that they simply cut a product hot? I don't know about everyone else but I wouldn't go near a company that could one day just "cut me off" of my dependable services (M$ OS versions, software packages, and etc).
I don't get it. From my understanding and several years of playing Minecraft, it comes down to this imo:
-Mash left click
-Strafe a lot
-Get lower ground
-Use bow every now and then
-Use fishing pole every now and then
-Hope you win
Sure, 1.9 pvp isn't perfect, but I enjoy it far better than the button mashing present on almost every server. I just don't understand what's the hype. From my experience it always comes down to who has the better jitter click and ping.
Can someone fill me in on what makes 1.8 pvp good and 1.9 pvp bad?
To sum it all up, we as humans don't typically enjoy changes.
But people will just has to move on if they wanna enjoy new contents and stop being on Swiss Cheese software...
Assuming that all Microsoft is doing is discontinuing updates for Minecraft, some people would actually be happy because the modding community for the discontinued Java version would be able to thrive without constantly updating their mods. (Of course, until people inevitably stop joining this tiny modding community.)
Now, from what I've heard, the pocket edition actually has more people playing it than the PC edition. This may not be true, but if it is, that means that a lot of people won't be effected by this change at all.
I'm not sure if Microsoft is legally able to stop people from hosting servers of their game, although it would be pretty pointless...
What about all of the Plugins Developers? Hosting Providers? Configuration Shops? Map Making Shops? and so on?
It not JUST the players get the impact, everyone getting the impact, from the players down to the underlying operations of the JAVA edition.
Shutting it down overnight would be a nightmare. Over months "dying out" sure, but that's assumed with any game. Even major games like WoW will eventually hit "00:00" on their zoom device...
The fear that everyone has is that Microsoft is going to discontinue the Java version, and is going to port the C version to Linux and Mac. (Or worse, they won't, so you'll have to get a Windows 10 PC, iPhone or Console to play Minecraft.)
The PR disaster alone would destroy the rest of the products. Imagine how mad everyone would be if M$ makes Hypixel, Mineplex, and other servers hit the fans.
I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about with mirroring or how it relates to what I was asking. Could you explain a bit more?
Also, I'm not really concerned with whether or not my server is "high rolling" enough to need to worry about it. I'm interested, so I'd like to know.
As the saying goes, it is advisable to keep your setup as simple as possible. You will thank me later about it when you run into many issues. As in that case the troubleshooting process is smoother.
Think of like that... You wouldn't have BungeeCord server if you only had one actual server running right?
Anyways what I meant is when you advertise your server updating doesn't usually take long if you just copy and paste. Especially since formatting TENDS to carries over.
In order to do this sort of setup, you would probably has to monitor how often the DOMAIN get a connection instead of the IP address itself. They do it on websites so I thinking there may be possible with Minecraft too.
So at the end of the day, unless there a real benefit for monitoring traffic sources (like advertisement budgeting to what site to pony up for a premium slot or something like that). Then this shouldn't be something to worry about.
Definitely get the Java/PC version. Easy to mod, and no worries about microtransactions. Also, as mentioned above, you get the Win10 for free if you get Java.
Hope you enjoy the game for years to come.
Not to mentions that you join BOTH Java servers AND realms.
You do not need plugins/mods/whatever to do this - Mojang added the Customized world type just for this reason; to create a Customized world click on more world options when creating a new world and click the world type button until it says Customized, then click on the customize button that appears and on the first page you'll find a list of various settings including structures - just click on the yes/no buttons to change them. If you want a Large Biomes world change the biome size to 6 (4 is default, 5 is between them); as long as you do not change any settings other than enabling/disabling structures the world will generate exactly the same as a Default/Large Biomes world (you can simulate Amplified but it will not be the same since Amplified excludes oceans, rivers, and swamps from having higher terrain but Customized does not).
(I'm a bit surprised that Customized is so little-known, it has been in the game for 3 years now)
We live and learn my fellow, thank you for informing us of such!
how do I get rid of the water at the bottom of a quarry? I have died twice trying to get to the source block but no luck yet. must be better way. not sure where this post should go so feel free to move it.
Pour a few lava from the top and let it do the honor?
Hey guyz do anyone know any ways or LINK to get to know about how to speak in Minecraft Java Edition rather than typing. Like I saw the YT Unspeakable Gaming always speaking or muting his voice to others and how does he do that? Plzzz I want to know how to do it??
I want it generally in minecraft hypixel server so that I could speak with them rather than typing as I type very horrible when I m in some tensed situation.
It was probably via a third party application (like TeamSpeak or Discord and others alike). As far as I am aware there isn't a "built in" VoIP that would allow you to use speech in game itself.
While I can understand sometimes there are acceptable means to use speech. You has to remember the "the other side"of the situation. For many circumstances the simplest way to communicate is by typing to each other. Exceptions exists but by large if the person is in MC then chances are they will be able to understand text better than speech.
What I has to wonder is what so difficult about "mirroring" everything on different sites? It literally only took me 15 minutes to "mirror" my new banner I found from a banner maker. "regular" updates only about 5 minutes or so.
In short as a "typical" owner you shouldn't has to worry about tracking like that. Now if you were high rolling in players and such then I could understand the need to expand to such monitoring.

Personally I don't see the point of one but I do respect everyone for who they are. That why I included them.

Why not right? To boost you can probably re purpose the tracks as well to get "around" your new underground base.
