Thank you, but 1gb isn't really that good. I also would prefer a vps since they are much better. Now for any sort of minecraft hosting, I would need to see that you are not overloading your servers.
Really is no way to prove it, everything can be oversold. (Yes, that means KVM and Xen)

Hi I run a small group and we are looking for a server for about 99.99 or less and with 32GB of RAM preferably but 16gb is ok as well. We need to have a half off the first bill kind of offer right now just for December because unfortunately we all work at a school where we vacation for 2 weeks. there is about 5 of us each pitching in about 20 a month and right now everyone has 10 so that's about it. We can do about 105 a month all together just need the first month to be about half or less. I know the request may seem unreasonable just throwing it out there for right now. We need something setup today looking to start right away.
Wow.. some of these hosts have no idea how much RAM a FTB server need just to idle I would save up and get at least 2GB preferably 3GB. Good support doesn't come cheap like that either that just my two cents because seriously some hosts are saying small memory allocations to fit your budget would works. Trust me and rise your budget for that 2GB server and go from there.
Not always.. You can yield some great things even if a host is in the "bargain bin". You know what they say? You should not judge a book by it's cover.
You just don't understand, do you?
If you pay $7 per month for a server you can not get $150 worth of support.
Usually, if I ever go to buy dedicated minecraft hosting, there are a few things I look for.
- The first is value for money. I know the usual response from hosts around here is "Oh, you get what you pay for". This absolutely does not give you any good reason to charge an arm and a leg for your hosting.
- The second is a fast setup time, with minimalistic downtimes, and in the case of an extended downtime, you should receive a the time you lost back for free.
- Optional support which is worth the money. I don't need support, ever. There are others that do, allow us to choose and make damn sure you're not charging ridiculous prices for it. I'd imagine it should be about 10-20% the price of your hosting, depending on your package.
- Another thing I really like to see is support for lots of payment options.
- Another thing that I like to see, but have yet to, is support for development builds. Really, this is something that just Astounds me. When there is a development build out, there are at least a few things you can do, yet most hosts just leave their customers high and dry. I mean, if you understand any kind of java, you're at least able to say "Your server is spring OOM errors, this is because you are on a development build, suggested actions: x,y,z,swap back to an Rb/BB" etc.
- Lastly, I support any host that uses small node sizes. 128gb/64gb server nodes are usually terrible.
This is basically the market we want to be an active part in. Good hardware with minimal downtime and cheap prices, but, minimal support.
It really just depends on what type of host you need. If you want a host that will hold your hand and give you reply's to tickets within 1 hour go with a more expensive host like DigitServers or MinecraftServerHost.

I completely agree, however, a minimal installation will use under 256MB RAM.

You can have a DC / ISP announce your IPv4 Blocks in their BGP.

For Windows you'd need KVM or Xen which we don't offer. However, you can install a VNC Server and XFCE for a Windows-like experience.
Our prices are just $4 / GB and our servers are in Chicago, IL. Just submit a ticket asking for a 1GB RAM VPS and I will be sure to assist you.
