It's my friend hosting the server for me, however yea that isn't a reason to stop checking out providers. So while it still up on it I considering a provider as a fail over.
Just a simple question.
From a pure GHz perspective, how do you have 4x 3.6GHz?
Not sure any processor (Including Overclocks) does this.
Im looking for server host preferably a dedicated server with at least 8 gigs of ram MultiCraft and a gigabit connection with unlimited bandwidth, 100% up-time and around 50-75 month. Make me your best offer. Ben
We can offer a VPS which is basically a Dedicated Server.
Looking for a server in Seattle or LA with close to or above the following specs: 500GB disk, 1TB preferred - 500GB Disk is a $35 fee. Are you sure that you can't move some of your data? 8GB RAM - This would be $32/m Quad core CPU, with reasonable usage - It's fair share, but for $10 I can give you a Dedicated Core. 100Mbit (1Gbit preferred) - 5TB @ 1Gbps Xen/KVM virtualization, or OpenVZ with FUSE - OpenVZ with FUSE (On request)
150GB Disk, 8GB RAM, Dedicated Core of E3-1270v3, 5TB @ 1Gbps, for $50/m
I've been told a 4GB dedicated server would be able to handle upto 60 players with these plug-ins, so I would probably be looking at getting a 6GB+ vps. - 6GB is just $24 ($4 / GB)
Can you (the host) setup multicraft w/ bukkget so I can easily install any other plug-ins? - In the $10 /hr work, I can.
Would I be able to remote desktop into it? (Such as a Windows server) I am running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate and know a little about remote desktop (Windows) - OpenVZ can not run Windows, but in the $10 /hr admin hours, I can include a VNC Server and some sort of Desktop environment (xfce, etc..)
What is the bandwidth limit? With minecraft hosting and maybe a teamspeak server running would I run out of said bandwith (if there is a limit) - I would allocate 4TB of bandwidth, you would not even come close. If you hit it, you can simply pay for more.
Dedicated ip and prefer minecraft to be on default. - VPS come with a Dedicated IP for free, $10/hr admin fee applies.
Low lag, reliable, hardly any downtime. - 100% Uptime so far! With RAID, SSD's, and 1Gbps ports you will have no lag!
I would like to be able to ftp into the server and ftp into the minecraft server if possible (to easily backup and even restore worlds) - You would have both SFTP and FTP (if using Multicraft).
I don't fully know what I am getting into, so support is number 1! I can learn pretty quick, but wouldn't mind an initial setup, even if I need to pay for it as long as it isn't too high, but would really like free. (Who wouldn't?) - . With a server at just $24 you have plenty of budget to spend on those cheap $10/hr admin hours. Replies to support tickets (Non Sales) are ALMOST always within 24 hours.
A vps was just kind of brought to my attention due to the fact that I could use it for minecraft and possibly mumble and will, everything all rolled into 1. Possibly even host multiple servers (with help in setup most likely) if I wanted to. - Yes, you just have to set it up or pay an admin fee ($10 / hr)
Price is a little open, but maybe $50-60 a month at most. I know vps cost more than just a minecraft server, but again it's been pointed that it would be able to be used for more than one thing. - We can do 6GB RAM for just $24.
I estimate this will take 1-2 Admin Hours ($10-20)

How much work would it take to get Windows running on OpenVZ? (JK)
