posted a message on The Internet 10 Years Ago
It freaks me the hell out that I was using the internet 10 years ago. I wasn't involved in many communities at the time, probably because the extent of the communities were forums, Yahoo Chatrooms, and eventually MySpace. Now we have bigger communities, and the more people you shove into a room with a microphone the uglier it can get.

Big fan of Vattic's 32x faithful pack. Glad to see someone's attempting a 64x one, and it looks pretty damn good. Great work, keep at it. I can't seem to get the download link to work, but the pack isn't completed yet, so I'd rather wait anyway.

I like it. Neat and compact, but you'd better get that thing inspected before some kid gets his pant leg caught and ends up sucked under.

so what do you need a gun for?

A gun is like a condom.

I'd rather have one and never need it than need one and never have it.

posted a message on Just some questions
One: How would you react if someone you loved was killed or killed themselves (anything that causes them to die)?
I don't have many loved ones, but I'd mope around for a few months and eventually get over it once I realize I can't keep whining forever.

Two: How would you react to a near death experience? Just shake it off or would you change in a deep way?
Probably the latter, but I'm also dumb and rarely learn from mistakes.

Three: What is your favorite color?
    Probably a dark green.

Four: What is your last happy memory with your family, and when did it occur?
    Can't think of any.

    Some other stuff:

y for yes, n for no.

    [N] Are you religious?
[N] Are you close to your family?
[Y] Do you have anything troubling you in your life right now?
[Y] Should I stop making threads?

posted a message on What do other countries think of Americans? (USA)
    Quote from Breadlord

It's called Nationalism. Americans are indoctrinated with an "Us vs Them" attitude from an early age. It probably happens elsewhere too but I've never been outside of the USA so I can't verify that.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

I didn't even know what that meant when I was a kid.

Americans are, in general: Blind, ignorant idiots who aren't willing to learn about anything unless it directly involves them in some way. They don't see that the country is crumbling right in front of them and that it's their own fault for voting for shitty politicians who aren't fit to run a country. Then there's those incredibly patriotic "AMERICUH, **** YEAH!" types which make me facepalm and laugh at the same time.

Mind you, I don't think everyone in my country is like that, but a good damn portion of them are.

posted a message on Gay marriage. Y/N?
    Quote from Breadlord

All "marriages" should be "civil unions" as far as the Government is concerned and what people call it amongst themselves is their concern.

    THIS.

No one should get benefits for being married. The government nor religion should have a place in the ceremonial bond of two people. It's unfair to people who don't get married, it's unfair to people who CAN'T get married. Do I even have to mention the fact that the system can be abused? People can get married without loving each other and reap the benefits. Oh and don't get me started on gays ruining the "sanctity" of marriage, because divorce rates will tell you there is no "sanctity" to ruin.

I remember the day very well.

It was dark and cramped. Then suddenly...

    "McBeeferton! I choose you!"

    Release.

Also my friend made it. It's part of a Pokemon Monopoly photoshop.

    Quote from whutsurnaym

But they don't fully explain everything. Do they ever actually tell you how fast hyperspeed really is?

Well, it takes a much more plausible approach. Gene Roddenberry came up with equations for things that could, in theory, actually work. Even simple things like transparent aluminum were discovered after he thought them up.

The Star Trek franchise was mostly a TV series, so it had time to explain things. The Star Wars franchise was mostly three movies (and about 6 hours of afterbirth.) A movie is supposed to be fast paced and entertaining. A series can do better to immerse you in the universe of the franchise. A book can do better too.

Also, the two aren't even comparable, really. I never understood the Star Wars/Star Trek war. I like both for what they are.

posted a message on Your teeth
I need braces and they're definitely not white.

One thing is that there's a cavity on one of my teeth. It's very visible. It was actually filled in, but the filling popped out about 6 months after the dentist visit. Haven't gotten it filled back in yet. Need to. Also need my wisdom teeth removed, but that's way too expensive. Hurts like a ***** sometimes, though.

That said, last time I went to the dentist, I didn't have as many cavities as I thought I would, considering before that I hadn't been to the dentist in many years. Probably why my teeth are so crooked today. ...that or my habit of chewing ice.
