Must I put his name in my credits if I use his code?
You would have to read his license files to know that..
It may be that you aren't allowed to use his code at all, depending on the license.
Some licenses may restrict which licenses you can have on your own project as well as put demands on how you show which code is yours and which is not etc.
Minecraft.* and ModLoader.* are both ClientSide only methods, this means that if you use this to heal your player then the player will seem to be healed but the server will still say he's not healed.
This leads to a mismatch between the client and the server, and remember that the server is always right so therefore your player may suddenly die when the client thinks he has much health since the server knows he has none left
That would without a doubt be: http://courses.vswe.se (Although the website is a bit confusing to navigate at first, it has courses you sign up for and you can complete assignments to test your self. The lectures are of A+ quality )
I recommend that you watch the VSWE courses here: www.youtube.com/user/VsweGoesMinecraft/videos?flow=grid&view=50&shelf_id=3
And then sign up for the course assignments on the webpage, complete each assignment as you complete each course.
That would be the best introduction to modding you can get these days.
PPS:
When you are done with VSWE's courses you will need tutorials to tell you how other things are done, then I'd recommend checking out the forge wiki's tutorial list and my tutorials database (see signature).
Also you would probably want to bookmark this blog: http://greyminecraftcoder.blogspot.no/p/list-of-topics.html
It's a blog dedicated to how minecraft's code works, and it's been of great help when trying to understand concepts used in the minecraft code
Good luck to you, and have fun on your coding adventures
but I think the major point is to help correct any issues there may be.
Not so sure about that, the major point would probably be just to show what's done so far and nothing more.
It's not like most of these errors needed any testing to find, they are quite visible to the developers as soon as they enter the game themselfs. So there's not really much to test and bug hunt yet... what needs to be done is an overwhelming bunch of obvious stuff
For larger schematics you will reach the file size limit for java files with the above linked program.
Besides LibSchematic you could give CoolAlias's structure gen api/tool a try

PS:
If you are new to programming, you would want to start with that instead:

CS106A Is a free online course in programming which I recommend that one is able to complete before starting to mod.

Guess what spend more time studying java and programming and it would be no problem understanding it

Incorrect, you don't need forge to make mods.
The above just means it's no way to make a 1.7.2 forge mod.
@OP:
Forge will be out in a few weeks,
Spend the waiting time on learning the fundamentals of programming and enjoy the winter

Without the crash report we can only GUESS at the reason for the crashes
Just remember that until next time
