Jun 27, 2011Just wanted to say, this is absolutely amazing! So much content and such a massive expansion of the game! Honestly, I feel like I should pay you for this. Have you considered putting up a donation link for yourself? (perhaps you have and I've missed it - sorry if that's the case)Posted in: Minecraft Mods
Apr 21, 2011Great looking pack! Definitely captures the rustic feeling IMO. Also, what map are you using for the screenshots (not the bottom two)? I've been trying to create something that amazing for a while; any chance you'd want to upload it if it's your own creation? I'd love to look through it for inspiration and ideas.Posted in: Resource Packs
Mar 12, 2011Posted in: WIP Resource PackQuote from Chichen »I just did it..changed absolutely nothing. Here's what it looks like: http://oi56.tinypic.com/2agm0zn.jpg Basically wherever that was a brightish green color in default texture pack there is this bright lime green color.
Try making the whole thing red or something; then you'll know for sure whether something just isn't working.
Also, if you used the HD texture patch (to get new water and lava), make sure you repatch it with the new pack you've made.
Mar 12, 2011Posted in: WIP Resource PackQuote from Chichen »Hey I'm having a small issue with your pack..well not really 100% with your pack..but let me explain. The default grass gradient seems to make a lot of the grass look REALLY lime green and just makes me want to tear my eyes out. Now I know this isn't your fault but this is the only pack I'm really having this issue with while every other pack looks just fine to me..I just think it needs to be darker..any way I can change this or if there is a gradient mod you can point me towards?
What you're looking for is the grasscolor.png file in the misc folder. Open minecraft.jar (if you don't know, you can get to this by clicking on the 'open texture folder', going up a folder level and opening the 'bin' folder) using 7-zip, WinRAR or WinZIP and look for the 'misc' folder. Copy that folder, open the Lucid texture pack and paste it in there. Now, open the 'misc' folder and open the 'grasscolor.png' in your chosen image editing software. You can also adjust the foliage color if you want.
Let me know if I didn't explain that well enough. Hope it helps :smile.gif:
Mar 7, 2011Posted in: Resource PacksQuote from ytsejam »It's aways a popularity contest, but Eld is winning, so I don't think it's all about popularity, that's high quality stuff right there. Pixeludi and Moontrain's Lucid are on the poll, witch is nice. Those are great textures packs as well.
Personally, I don't get how packs like Painterly and Quandary Reborn got in when amazing stuff like LZ Pack are just ignored.
I think is hard to make a poll that would please everyone.
Yeah, I've got to admit, of all the texture packs I think Painterly is the absolute worst I've seen. I can see that others like it, but it's just ugly to me. It's like the vanilla textures, but even more noisy and senseless (no offense to the creator; it's clearly just a difference in taste). I hate noisy packs!
Quandry Reborn is fine, though it's weird because some textures (like the wood planks) almost look like those 'simple' texture packs, while others (like the cobblestone) look noisy - and the dirt looks extra noisy. Just seems odd.
Eld, I just don't like the style (again, taste difference). Besides, the dirt is purple/pink tinged. Maybe it's just because Eld's avatar is hideous though lol.
Anyway, my vote goes to moontrain's Lucid pack; I especially love the dirt/grass and I love the pack because of its low-noise (but not lacking in detail) textures. It makes the game so much fun to explore and build in. My only issues with it are the Netherack brick texture and the mossy cobblestone (single-direction moss makes it look silly on floors).

This is one of the better trolls I've seen. I know because of the rules of trolling, you can't admit to it. But you have pulled off a very successful troll. It had all the elements...
People played along, things got emotional, there we're links to wikipedia, even the youtube of the russian singer made an appearance...
My hat is off to you, sir!
All the novice trolls out there should take a lesson from you.
Once again... the russian dude... (this guy is awesome, I want some of whatever this guy is smoking)
If you think this is good trolling, go check out the two (one got locked) Assassin's Creed texture pack threads. Some guy makes a really obviously crappy texture pack, pretends to listen to advice and makes everyone rage - and I've only seen one person call him out as a troll; the rest are just a bunch of idiots who couldn't detect a troll if they were walking under a bridge and one bit them on the nose.

I'm in Advanced Math, -- a 11th grade level in 7th grade -- so please don't say I'm not good at math.
I don't believe that for a second. Are you a year 7 in a class full of year 11s? Why would your school ... i'm not even ...
No. I'm in a class with a bunch of 7th graders. They can do math at an eleventh grade level.
You sure you haven't just repeated several years worth of maths and these 7th graders are just doing 7th grade maths?
Mar 4, 2011Mattressi posted a message on [1.3.1] GLSL Shaders (DoF, Bump Mapping, Waving Wheat, Dynamic Shadows, and More!)Hi guys, I'm trying to get the working with the Balea texture pack. I've followed the instructions posted there and installed the shaders with no errors. Then I ran Minecraft, the Mojang logo came up and after a while it quickly flashed to a black screen and crashed with no error message. This happened every time I tried it. I tried using a backup minecraft.jar and starting again, with the same results.Posted in: Minecraft Mods
I've got XP, a GeForce 9800GT and 4 Gb of RAM. I tried using that heap size change for Java and it still crashes. I can run 128 and 256 texture packs fine, but the shaders seem to cause the crash.
Any ideas about what the error could be? (I checked the first post and the wiki and couldn't find anything).
Mar 1, 2011Looks quite nice so far. Looking forward to the finished product. Any chance you'd want to retexture the brick to a more uneven, brown medieval texture instead of the default ugly, straight red brick? Something more like this or this?Posted in: Resource Packs
Keep us posted :smile.gif:

Pi is also somewhere around 3. 'Somewhere around' is pretty subjective and all your value is, is an approximation just like the OP's. You are as correct/incorrect as the OP.
Jan 28, 2011Awesome! I found it again! I couldn't remember the name of this pack, but now I've found it! YAY!Posted in: Resource Packs
Anyway, thanks for the great pack. It looks like some amazing modernist mosaic - I love it :smile.gif:
Dec 17, 2010Mattressi posted a message on [64x] GLIMMAR'S STEAMPUNK v.22 NOW RELEASED! + Latest Newglim City Download! + GS Redstone Pipes Add-On Pack!I just found this texture pack (through the RiverC settings of the BiomeTerrain Mod) and I've gotta say, it's absolutely amazing! I never really cared for steampunk, until now. I don't know what it is, but all of the textures just seem masterfully done; easy on the eyes, well-themed and great detail. I love every texture in the pack; usually I have to switch up textures from all different packs (and usually stop using it anyway), but this pack is just too good for that. Also, the Nether is truly magnificent with this texture pack.Posted in: Resource Packs
I look forward to your future versions too; the Wild Grass looks awesome in that screenshot and I really like the rusty metal look of the clay (I don't care as much about clay looking like clay as I do about having more steampunk-esque blocks).
Sorry this post isn't more useful, but I just wanted to thank you profusely for this pack - it's really inspired me!
