Nether blaze isn't a mob...
True, but it is a suggestion to change the game in regards to a mob. How it spawns, what it is, all that is moot. Since that specific thing can be filed under Mobs (Enhancements to be precise)
Quote from unitedsquadron3
Mist is a rare weather event.
(Emphasis added)
http://www.minecraft...weather-update/
We already have a thread for weather suggestions. This "event" should be in that thread, since that is the thread for weather suggestions.
Quote from unitedsquadron3
The only way I can see this in a category is if a there was a category for topics that don't fit in any general place.
I could remove black chicken, and make it's own topic. It would be good.
We have an area for black chickens, it's the Mob section (First one, as a matter of fact!) Note that the section is divided into subsets, such as "Aggressive" or "Passive" etc. The chicken would fit fine in there.
I still stand by my first assertion, it's too much of a wish list. Remember wish list = more than one section. Break down a thread, can it be placed in more than one section in the list? (If so, then it is a wish list.)
There is one exception: Gameplay Changes

Strottinglemon posted a message on Witch Overhaul! Broomsticks, Bat-splosions,Snowman Power-Up, Hats, and Cats! (Derpy Concept Art Included!)Posted in: SuggestionsWitch Overhaul
Greetings fellow Minecrafters! Whilst browsing these forums I have noticed distaste and hate for the witch, a mob commonly seen as a half-baked afterthought. Well I say we should shove it back into the oven until baking is complete! Here's a pile O' ideas that I came up with to improve them! (And one that I stole from another thread)
Location
Currently the Witch spawns in a simple two block tall hut.
(rarely, often times these huts are empty)
I believe that the hut should be a place where a portion of the fight takes place, not just a spot to stick a witch. Here's an imgur album of a wonderful hut created by Marken4 on Reddit. Not only is it more aesthetically appealing, it provides more space to fight.
The hut is now protected by a witch's curse, and you cannot destroy any part of it without killing the witch. You can open the door, however.
Combat
Currently you can kill the witch easily with a stone sword, no armor, and a bucket of milk just by spam clicking it. A witch should be more of a mini-boss. As you're traversing a swamp, you should keep an eye out for them just in case you accidentally bump into a witch that you're not prepared to fight.
When you first walk into a witch hut, you're greeted with this.
You came to the wroooong neighborhood. (also pretend that brewing stand isn't there)
Cats! That's right, cats! Witches are known for keeping tons O cats around. They also serve a purpose! When you first enter the hut, the witch will chuck potions at you like normal. It will have a new animation, however. Its folded arms sort of thrust outwards as it throws, giving the player a chance to slash at the potion with his sword before it explodes, though it throws potions a bit faster now and will buff itself more frequently while backing away from the player like the new skeletons do.
Once the player gets the witch's health down to a certain point, which should take about 15 or so hits depending on difficulty, POOF! A cloud of black smoke arises and the Witch becomes an identical cat. All the cats in the house enter panic mode, running about like frightened ocelots.
(in that chest there, there's some normal goodies like glowstone dust and brewing stuff (rarely potions) that the witch currently drops)
You have to remember which is witch! (hehe) If you hit the incorrect one, POOF! It 'splodes in a poof of debuffing black smoke, giving you minor weakness and slowness, making you susceptible to the witch's potions. The effects stack with each incorrect cat you smack. When you hit the right cat there is a poof and then the witch comes out again. This repeats 2-3 times, the cats becoming increasingly more frantic. Next comes my favorite part!
The witch hops on a magical broom and flies out of the door! If you blocked the door, the witch will break any blocks in its path to escape.
The witch will fling potions at you from above! It takes 7 shots from a skilled marksman to down it on easy, 10 on normal mode, 15 on hard. If you're not a skilled marksman, the witch swoops lower occasionally where you can get in a few swipes with your sword. When at last the witch is defeated a new death animation plays! The witch explodes into a flurry of black smoke, twenty or so bats spawning on its death point and fluttering about.
As requested by UnleggerDripper22, witches WILL NOT despawn. If you go after it, get owned, and run away, the witch won't dissapear.Once a witch dies, it dies permenantly. The hut does not spawn any more witches.Due to popular demand, witches will now respawn in their huts after a long while as long as the hut is intact. A new witch will have a 5% chance of spawning every day 2 minecraft weeks after the witch has been killed.
Squirrelboy pointed out something interesting. Every player has different play styles, so theoretically someone could just run up to the door and pour lava inside. My idea for a countermeasure is if the Witch detects that it is being burnt by lava, it will automatically deploy an 8:00 fire resistance potion to make it invulnerable to your attack, leaving you open for potion bombardment.
Reward
When the witch is engulfed in the batsplosion, the broom slowly drifts down to the ground, ready for a new owner!
Don't flip out yet- the broom is NOT something you can zip to sky limit in half a second with! Think more of a hovercraft type deal. Since you're not as magically powerful as the witch, the broom only hovers 5-15 blocks off the ground. The broom is not craftable! The only way to get it is killing a witch.
It functions similar to a boat. If you crash it into a wall or are shot by an arrow it returns to its item form. Unlike other items, the broom will never despawn both in item form and entity form. You have to be very careful when using it, though, because if you die riding it somewhere far away from your house you may never be able to find it again.
The broom is further balanced by the fact that you have to enchant it to keep it flying. When the witch dies, the broom has zero durability. If you stick it in an enchanting table, you'll find one enchant available: Flight, a level 10 enchantment. Enchanting it brings the durability up 1/4 of the way. You can enchant it multiple times to get the durability higher, meaning to get it to full durability you'll have to enchant it 4 times and spend 40xp. As you fly around, it slowly goes down and you lose speed and height. With a broom at full enchant you can travel about 500 blocks at full speed, which is a bit faster than a boosting pig at 15 blocks off the ground, 500 blocks at the normal speed of a pig at 10 blocks off the ground, and 200 blocks at a speed between walking and sprinting 5 blocks off the ground. When the durability runs out you can hover 1 block off the ground and travel at walking speed. You can also boost by double tapping W (same as sprint) to add 1/2 your current speed to the broom at the cost of durability.
The turning controls for the broom should be touchy, so it feels magical and unpredictible. Acceleration should be from 0 to max speed in 2.5 seconds.
(These numbers are NOT set in stone and they can be tweaked further)
Hopper Qidditch in Minecraft, anyone?
Hats!
This is from thread by avisioncame, go there to look at some ideas people posted and rep him and stuff.
My thoughts: When wearing it you look snazzy AND it adds +2 blocks/sec to the speed of the broom regardless of the durability.
ANY (good and bad) Potion effects applied to you while wearing it will be multiplied in strength and time by 1/8.
It should also upgrade snow golems to potion throwers. Right click a snow golem to put a hat on it. Right clicking a hatted golem will open up a GUI similar to a dispenser that you can drop potions in for the golem to throw.
D'aww, isn't he adorable? Who's my cute potion throwing death machine? You are!
An alternative to the potions, as suggested by peppertyce, is to have the golems throw magical snowballs instead of potions as to not change the base attack. Let me know which you like better!
This is not only awesome, but provides incentive to track down multiple witches for your potion hurling army. To get your hat back, strike down the golem like the cruel ******* you are. Again, give this guy and other posters in his thread credit.
Think that the broomstick and hat are waaaayyyy too rare? FEAR NOT! Due to popular demand, normal witches like we have now will be changed so that they're a semi-rare swamp enemy, perhaps 2.5X rarer than endermen, and they only spawn in swamps. They function more or less like they do now, only their skin is tinted green and they're named "wandering witches". (name not final) They will drop brooms 1% of the time and hats 3%.
So yeah! Any criticisms? Did I get my numbers massively wrong? Is the whole thing stupid? Let me know! -

FutureNyanCat posted a message on The "Updates" button in the Minecraft Main Menu (One-click installation of updates and snapshots!) (Pictures)The Updates Button: One-click installation of snapshots and updates!Posted in: Suggestions
I was on a topic about the texture pack button being removed and placed in the Options menu. I've opted to place a new button in the main menu.
I've got you the updates button.
Wait, there is already a snapshot feature in the Curse Client!
The Snapshot implementation in the Curse Client is different from the Updates menu interface in this suggestion. Minecraft is not equal to the Curse Client.
What does it do?
It redirects you to the updates menu which allows you to download the latest updates and snapshots without having to restart the minecraft launcher and use the Force Update button, or just manually download a snapshot.
What are the buttons doing here in the updates menu?- Snapshots button allows you to download snapshots with one click.
- Back button brings you back to the main menu.
- Back button in the snapshot menu brings you back to the updates menu.
- Mojang's website button brings you to the domain mojang.com with the currently default browser you're using.
Click on an update to download it. It will show the details of the update and a download button.
However, before downloading the update from the updates list will ask you if you want to quit Minecraft first. There will be a warning saying "Playing on a different version of Minecraft can make worlds from upcoming versions unloadable! Are you sure you want to continue?"- If clicking Yes then it will close the game and show a progress bar.
- If clicking No it will bring you back to the updates menu.
- An update with an orange "COMING SOON" banner means that is not released yet.
- An update with a blue "Click here to download" banner means that it is released and available for download.
- An update with a gray "Outdated" banner and its icon grayed out means that it is outdated.
- The Minecraft version at the bottom left will turn red, and put Outdated on it.
- At the bottom right corner, there will be a balloon saying "A new update is released! Click here to download it"
- In the updates menu, the new update will slowly flash red and yellow. The previous update is outdated.
- There will be no changes to the in-game worlds.
- (suggested by NitrogenSnow) The updates button will turn green indicating there is a new update.
- The previous update will be grayed out.
There's a button at the bottom that says Snapshots. When you click it, it takes you to the Snapshot list menu, where you can download all of the snapshots. Click on a snapshot to download it. It will show the details of the snapshot and a download button. Press the download button.
However, before downloading a snapshot it will ask you if you want to quit Minecraft first. But also it will show a warning saying: "WARNING - Snapshots can delete inventories, or corrupt your maps! Please backup your stuff first before testing a snapshot"
(as said by Sambaru, if the warning wasn't implemented then too many people will just mess up their worlds, thanks for the information)- If clicking yes then it will close the game and show a progress bar.
- If clicking no it will bring you back to the snapshot menu.
Will it be a better way to download snapshots with one click?
Of course. It can be useful for newbies. But however, if they don't like this idea, then they can choose to download the new snapshot manually.
Will it be a better way to download updates with one click?
Partially yes. People will prefer using the force update feature. Some may use it rarely. Or just simply Yes.
Is it the same as MCNostalgia?
No! It's different from MCNostalgia. MCNostalgia is based on command prompt and the Updates button is based on Minecraft.
I'm a beta tester of Minecraft Realms, but the Updates button belongs in the empty spot!
The Minecraft Realms button will replace the Texture Packs button if you're a beta tester of Minecraft Realms. If you are, then the updates button will be under the options button instead.
Does this interact with my worlds?
Of course not. However, downgrading to older versions can cause some worlds to break so you'll need to take caution when doing a downgrade.
If clicking on "Mojang's Website" button, which browser will it use?
Any browser that is your default browser will be selected automatically, or, if you don't have a default browser, you will be opted to pick a browser before visiting Mojang's website.
There's already snapshots and updates on Mojang's website!
However, Minecraft will lose focus when trying to visit Mojang's website, so if you want to focus only on Minecraft, you can install updates straight from the game.
Checking if worlds needed a higher version:
If you're downloading a world for 1.5 and you're using 1.4.7, the world will be grayed out and there will be red text saying "Has 1.5 content. Please update to Minecraft 1.5" when you try to play the world. This is to prevent crashes and corruptions when using other versions.
Do I need to downgrade to Beta or Alpha?
Since they are outdated, you can't.
If I have a world that uses a snapshot's new features, can I still load it when I downgrade to a previous version?
Of course not. Your Minecraft will crash if you try to load a world that has a snapshot's features.
For example: You download snapshot 13w21a and play around with your world spamming horses and creating a stained clay house. You downgrade to 1.5.2, then when you try to play your world, the game crashes.
Can I use the Updates button in the Minecraft demo?
You can still use the Updates button in the Minecraft demo.
Pros:
- Makes updating Minecraft simplified as it should be!
- Snapshot testing is much easier!
- Can be available in the new Minecraft launcher.
- The button is always available to all users (non-premium and premium)
- Is also available in demo mode
Cons:
- Breaks the force update feature in the Minecraft launcher.
- May be obselete when the Mod API is out.
- If the people don't follow the warnings, of course their worlds will break.
CONCEPT IMAGES:

Snapshots menu.
I like this idea/I don't like this idea.
If you like this idea, please give a +1 and if you hate it or like it, give constructive criticism. We hope to hear from you!
Will it be added in the next update?
If Dinnerbone finds out about this, then he will.

WIth controllable pigs comes the urge to race.
INTRODUCING: Mario Kart (Pig racing) in Minecraft!
***For all you aspiring track builders, a good rule of thumb is to have the track at least 9 blocks wide, to allow easier turning.
THANK YOU MOJANG!
Now, switching to an item other than your Carrot-on-a-Stick will not abruptly stop the pig!
Say hello to powerups such as snowballs and splash potions! (In the future...)
NOTICE:
I will not be quitting this project!
I will return to building tracks and buildings after I take my final exams for school!
Patience, my friends.

(You don't have to, but looking for the ladder will encourage players to explore a bit)
-Find the 6 keys to unlock the tracks
(You don't have to, but looking for the keys will encourage players to explore a bit)
-Use the H Portal to teleport to the lobby
-Use the teleport totem to teleport back to the hub, or find the pig/saddle totem to get a pig egg and a saddle.

-Give each player 3 Carrot-on-a-Sticks by pressing the "Give pig control" button in the admin room.
-Locate the "Start Race" lever/pressure plate, and flip the lever/leave an item on the pressure plate.
-Powerups are active if the Redstone Lamp is LIT. To fix a broken Redstone Lamp (DIM), locate the trapdoor, descend, and click the button near the bottom of the hole.
Please FOLLOW this post so you can be informed of updates quickly!
Currently I am Working On
-Viewing rooms
-Death rooms
-Simpler powerup systems. (1 powerup every one in a while isn't really fair.)
Bugs/Problems
-Moving over stairs, slabs, or any other block that is not a full block will make the pig jitter/shake up and down
-Falling off the track currently has no fix but disqualification
-Earth's End is a bit difficult
-The Yogscast did not give me credit for the maps
-Pigs will sometimes not jump over a 1 block high obstacle

MacUser123456789 posted a message on Bring back the color codes for all players! D:I think it was 1.2r when they made it so you cannot type any colored/scrambled text anymore. The feature was fun and even useful, and my friends and I used it a lot, but suddenly, they made it so you can't even type the § to do it. This was a feature since the MC Classic years. Now, it only works in books and world names. Needless to say, this made me very sad relative to how sad I'd typically get from a video game.Posted in: Suggestions
For those wondering what I'm talking about, typing §, the section sign, then a hex digit (0-9 or A-F) would make the text you are typing colored depending on what digit you entered. For example, §6 was orange. Typing § then k would make it moving like the letters in the End credits.
If they're going to get rid of it to prevent over-use (wasn't a problem anyway but may be now that it has spread), they should have at least made it a server.properties option. -

Basically, the viewer of the video, will put there hand on their screen and follow my steps. I will tell them to move there finger a certain amount of spaces, then I will hit a button. One of the spaces will disappear. I will say another number, then I hit the button again and another space will disappear. After 15 button hits, it will funnel my prediction down to the point where I know exactly where your hand is on the screen. It may be quite confusing right now, but watch the video and you will understand it.Posted in: Redstone Discussion and Mechanisms
I hope you enjoyed the video! It works 99% of the time so I bet it worked with you! I also have some pictures below, showing off the redstone that goes on behind the mechanism. Here are some pictures:

sugarmaster1 posted a message on Placeable bowlsEver wanted to make that banquet/feast in your castle set out on a table, but the only thing you can place is cakes? Sure, you can use item frames, but who puts food in frames on the wall? That's why I've come up with placeable bowls.Posted in: Suggestions
The main gist of this suggestion is that the wooden bowl would be placeable, as would mushroom stew. When you placed an empty bowl, you could right-click it with every eatable item to have a bowl with that food in it. Each food item would have a value out of 100, and you could put any combination of foods in as long as the value does not exceed 100. Here is a chart:
Apples - 25
Bread - 100 (appears as loaf)
Raw/Cooked Porkchop - 100
(Enchanted) Golden Apple - 25
Raw/Cooked Fish - 50
No Cake - It's already placeable!
Cookies - 10
Melon (Slice) - 25
Raw Beef/Steak - 100
Raw/Cooked Chicken - 100
Rotten Flesh - 100 (appears as mass of flesh, not one piece)
Spider Eye - 10
Carrot - 20
(Baked/Poisonous) Potato - 25
Golden Carrot - 20
Pumpkin Pie - 100
Any Potion (not Splash) - 100
Water Bottle - 50
Glass Bottle - 50
The food would be rendered in 3D with the new 3D item rendering, but only on Fancy graphics mode.
Please leave comments, support, or criticism below. -

The only reason you should ever give up is when it is impossible, or at least not have enough effect to be worth it.

Still a loose definition. If 20 builders showed up when we needed none, I'd say no to all of them.
