Good to know that the Octopi will attack!

Octopus, from the greek "octo" and "pod", meaning "eight" and "feet, respectively, was a latinized Greek word. In being an English word, "octopuses" was made the 'correct' plural. However, due to its seemingly Latin spelling, scholars changed its plural to "octopi", with rational similar to the pluralization of "alumnus" which would be "alumni".

    That was completely wrong.

Octopus is a latinized Greek word, and therefore should be pluralized in the Greek form, akin to the "alumnus" pluralized in a Latin manner. Hence, following Greek pluralization rules, the plural of "octopus" should be "octopodes", which is pronounced "ahk tah poh dees". However, "octopuses" is valid, because it has been adopted into English, where the pluralization is sometimes modified for consistency.

    Not really.

And by what estimation do you come to the conclusion that this would be possible, anyway?

As it states in the article, it isn't likely. It is possible, but really I don't have a great estimation. Just as nobody expected some of the products Apple came out with, like 1984 Mac, this could be a huge surprise, or a huge dud. We will have to see.

I'd expect none of them. Expectations of games are increasing exponentially, and the gap will be even bigger than NES and now.

There's no law against downloading or uploading things, and piracy laws are not enforced. Irrelevent, anyway, because uploading won't get you in trouble, unless that is copyrighted material.

    Quote from Yourself

Quantum computers are also only useful if you have quantum algorithms to run on them. You will not be able to simply dump any software on it and see it magically run faster. Quantum computers will be no better than classical computers at running classical algorithms.

The problem is quantum algorithms are highly specialized things, so it's unlikely you'd ever see general purpose quantum computers because they wouldn't have any significant speed gains over classical computers.

It is possible, however, that quantum algorithms will be developed for gaming, in some way, and thereby increase speed.

Mobs freeze when there is no player within 32 (36?) blocks of their position. If you follow along behind them, they may wander any distance away, but if you take off and leave them be, they'll be right there still when you return.

    32 is correct.

It would be fine to leave them.
