posted a message on Aussie Non-Whitelist Vanilla Server 106.68.147.77

This server is still currently in development, so if you'd like to see what it's like, you're free to join! Vanilla gameplay is going to be the core of the server. All ages are welcome, but I'm hoping the conversational climate remains at an adult level.

To focus on simplicity, ive created only 5 main rules.

    Do:

    • Respect everyone. This means that you must respect anyone regardless of anything about who or what they are. Disrespecting players or upsetting the chill will lead to a short mute then possibly a temporary ban depending on the severity.
    • Report rule breakers. Bystanders are considered to be on the side of the offender and can result in the same punishment as the original offender.
    • Keep the chat neat. Spamming is not permitted and will lead to a medium length mute; the same going for advertising.

    Do Not:

    • Grief players, or the server. This will result in an instant ban no matter what. There is not much point griefing as it can be automatically undone with one command.
    • Abuse PvP. It is recommended that you show some chivalry by not spawn killing, spam killing, etc.

    The IP: 106.68.147.77

posted a message on EULA Donations?

You're allowed to give gifts, but they shouldn't make the game unfair. You can't limit functions behind paywalls, and you can't give items in exchange for money. Only aesthetic upgrades are allowed (apart from capes, which are also illegal to gift)

Id never limit things to donors, that's just stupid. I usually just give instant rank ups, where others would have to wait for a bit before getting the same ranks.

posted a message on EULA Donations?

Who said I was selling bits of Mojang code? It's just using their code as a thank you gift for a generous donation so I can keep my expensive server running. ;) If I'm not allowed to give gifts then that's just insanity.

posted a message on EULA Donations?

The main reason they change the EULA was just when children stole their parents credit cards, the parents cant file disputes against Mojang. Thats why you need to accept the EULA to run a legal server now. They have no way to actually enforce it and I doubt they ever will. People have the right to give rewards based on donations for work they put lots of effort in to. Mojang might not be able to see that, but they aren't exactly one of the best developer companies out there.

Edit: Apparently I'm wrong, it can be enforced.

I guess theres the possibility of danger if more installation processes involve opening .jar and .exe files

posted a message on Is minecraft stagnant?

Minecraft's communtiy is spoiled, that's the problem. It gets so much, while the largest part of it doesn't even realize how much it gets. Mojang gets taken for granted.

With the EULA changes I honestly dont care what happens to Mojang at this point.

I think he wants them for free. Anyway, can you find where it says its illegal? I hate it when people spew out 'facts' with nothing to back it up.

    posted a message on The Grand Spencorian Empire {RECRUITING}-{Light roleplay}-{Mature Community}-{Allimore}

1.Your In game name (Minecraft username)
MathewPerth (Would I be able to have my characters name as a nickname?)

    2. Skype (required)
MathewPerth. My name is Mathew Stone and my picture is the same as on this forum (or if it didn't update it's Floki from Vikings).

    3.Age
    16 and 8 months.

4.What can you do to help the Grand Spencorian Empire Prosper? (what can you offer to improve the Empire?)
Initially, I'm not entirely sure, but I seek guidance in the matter. Obviously, I will be loyal and can input several hours of my time into the empire.

    5. A little about yourself
I am a student on holidays looking to fill my time. When I am back at school, study will have a higher priority but I seek to be a part of this empire.

    6. what is your preferred starting occupation and are you aware of how occupation advancement works (a simple yes or no will do)? Miner, due to my character's strength. And no, not really.

    7. How many hours a day can you be on for?
1/2 on weekdays, 3/4 every second weekend and holidays (which I'm currently on).

8.A brief (1-3 sentences) description of your role play character (Recommended)?
Ranulfr av Skån is a strong, hardworking man that originated from a tribe in a cold climate. After being banished, he migrated. After a few years, he came across the GSE and decided he wanted to be assimilated into the empire (assuming he gets accepted). If it isn't clear, he's in a way simulating the Germanic migrations into the Roman Empire.

    9. Have you been apart of any other clans? If so, which one(s)?
No, I literally just found out that clans existed an hour ago.

    10. Why did you choose the Grand Spencorian Empire?
I love complexity and this server/clan presents just that. It also seems to be based on the Roman Empire which was an important period in history. The Oligarchy didn't seem like the clan for me, either.

If you were talking about the other servers, then go to their forums. It is unrelated to this topic at this point.

That's just their individual server. The login servers are hosted by Mojang and have nothing to do with player hosted servers.
