I'm actually from Nova Scotia, Canada. It can get hot during the summer months.

I have some pills to manage my blood pressure. I've heard that drinking lots of water helps too. I'm trying to eat less and I'm trying to work out more. Though I'm not sure where in my area that I can find personal trainers, or how I can even afford one. I don't have a job or a lot of money.

Well, eating less is good in a way but if you have high blood pressure you should read up on diets that help lower blood pressure naturally. Most of these diets will have less fat, salt, etc the things that out of moderation are bad, and will help with your health in general.

Be careful with working out. there's lots of hidden dangers, you should really read on fitness stuff. (Since there's so many "lose weight now!!!" sites it's best to find several reputable sources and average the results of your readings)

No, I'm not trolling. Even my own mother thinks I'm ugly and smelly.

I thank you for telling me that. I'm actually studying for a major in Biology. But, whenever someone outdoes me in any way, I feel like a total waste of life.

My weight is affecting my health, but most of my overeating is comfort-eating. I don't know why I do it, either. There's nothing really bad going on that I know of.

How often do people normally shower? My boyfriend only showers every Sunday. If I go one day without showering, I look greasy.

    That's good, I don't think I could do Biology.

Why should you care? people will always be in a better situation, it's just a fact of life. So getting worked up about it is like being upset that the sun is hot, at least that's how I feel.

If it is affecting your health then go see a doctor if it's something you can help then you should go to a trainer and get a work out regime that will work for you. The doctor may also point you in the direction of a therapist as well.

I shower two times a day, but I also live in Texas where it is hot as ****.

Not sure if troll... Either way, just shower more often if people think you smell. (Showers are awesome) You are obviously not stupid as most people on here are barely able to use proper grammar and you have done that quite well. As far as looks you shouldn't really give much of a ****. For weight, get with a personal trainer and a doctor if feel you are unhealthy otherwise it doesn't really matter.

It's just that you would get better performance overall.

    Which generation of Pentiums though?

    Quote from Serpential »

There are a small amount of situations in which actions such as those carried out by the male described in the OP would be justified, and this isn't one of those situations.

As for the entire feminism debate going on, the views being expressed are extremely ignorant, So much so I doubt most of you even know what feminism actually is, and haven't bothered to find out. So allow me to tell you what I know.

I feel this needs to be addressed first, so if any of you are creating a judgment on feminism solely based on the name of the movement, I'll have you know that the name doesn't goddamn matter, and disregarding the feminist movement because you think it's named incorrectly is profoundly stupid.

Moving on, the crux of the anti-feminist zeitgeist being displayed in this thread seems to be based on the false notion that feminism is only for womens rights; this is simply an untruth. Feminism is the fight against the ongoing patriarchal society we inhabit, it should be noted that this patriarchal society is at the center of the causation and continuation regarding both womens and mens rights issues, women are oppressed by patriarchal society more so than men, but oppression of men is still present in a patriarchal society as is displayed by the world we inhabit. Since feminism is the fight against the patriarchy, (not this singular "womens rights only" movement as most of you are describing it) this means that feminists are fighting for both mens and womens oppression caused by the patriarchy. Feminism is a movement to end exploitation and oppression based on sex and gender. The focus on women within the feminist movement is due to the fact that men are for the most part privileged by patriarchal society in comparison to women. However, this doesn't mean that feminism is solely for womens rights.

I keep hearing around the forum and in this thread that the feminist movement is no longer necessary... Tell that to the over five million women abused based on gender or sex per year just in the United States. Tell that to the children of the mothers amongst these abused women who had to witness and grow up with sexual oppression and discrimination. Tell that to the rape victims amongst these abused women who are told not to "dress like sluts" if they don't want to get raped. Realize that society promotes women to be passive objects who's primary role is attract and control men so they can make babies. Realize that men discrimination, despite being awful, isn't oppression, and comparing discrimination of man to the oppression and discrimination of women is ludicrous. Realize that the discrimination towards men is at the fault of the patriarchy and that feminism is working to end that, whilst the currently rising "Men's Rights" movement has no position or philosophy on the patriarchy, let alone finishing it and bringing equality to men and women.

I'm going to leave some resources so some of you can make some proper judgment on feminism rather than the current reactionary ********:

Interesting post, I never said it wasn't needed, or I didn't understand what it was for, but like any movement there is corruption.

Also, why would you say he is unjustified?

Studies suggest this, but what about the "minority"?

If we are capable, we shouldn't get more punishment than necessary, and certainly not more than a woman in the same boat.

You see, this is a good idea, but this world is ****ed up.

hence the knife i hide up my sleeve. no, i dont go randomly ripping throats out, but i like good knives... not so much as weapons, but as tools. i cook, i carve things, i use it as a lever for getting the tea kettle open since the handle broke off it. i use it to open things, to cut things, its really the most important tool ever invented, the knife. but the one i keep up my sleeve... just in case. tis for self defense, something an attacker would never see coming, or have time to react to.

im sure most on this thread about guns would think a knife to be a ridiculously pointless thing to carry for self defense, but... its what ive got to work with, and i really dont ever plan on having to use it, its more... just in case i need it. those who carry guns however, do plan on using them most of the time.

Nope, I am sure that most of the people here who carry guns carried knives when they where unable to carry guns.

I'm not sure why people think men are so much more incapable of change than women.

Because psychologically, we (Being those [males] who are capable of violent crimes.) ARE less capable of change (Change being, change in behavior.)

They have removed whole diagnoses from the DSM because of this reason and the fact that males mostly fit the criteria (See: Sadistic Personality Type*).

I speak from experience, you are most definitely allowed guns in Canada. Manitoba is the easiest province to get them in, and every other province you need quite a bit of registration, but you can have them.

I don't think there's a word for how much I agree with you

Yeah, I'm one of only a few teenagers that actually care to research weapons/weapon laws and not go, "Hurrhurr, Second amendment, blah, blah, blah, dads a lawyer, blah, blah, mom's a judge, I-will-sue-you-for-no-reason-because-I-am-an-entitled-ass."

A little more research also suggests the "21 foot rule" is mis-interpreted, it only means "A suspect with a knife within 21 feet of an officer is POTENTIALLY a deadly threat. He does warrant getting your gun out and ready. But he cannot be considered an actual threat justifying deadly force until he takes the first overt action in furtherance of intention..."http://www.policeone...e-valid-Part-1/

At the end of the day, I would rather carry a baton than a gun. It gives you distance, no training is really needed, no risk of injuring yourself, can be both lethal and non-lethal, and has less of a psychological effect that can cause you to freeze, it is also deployed quickly and has a ****ing terrifying sound when it does.

However there is really no defense against a random knife attack, you are just ****ed.
