One of the major bugs with this snapshot makes every entity freeze, making the game unplable...I'm disappointed.... There has to be a b version
Same thing is happening for me. My comp isn't the greatest, but it has always played the game fine before. I think the RAM update is helping with chunk rendering, but it does seem that there is a consistent lag of a second or two every 8-10 seconds. For now, I just learned to swing my sword like crazy when the zombies would suddenly stop moving for a bit. I hope they get this worked out for 1.3 or at least offer updated video settings for those who are experiencing this (i.e. java XMS RAM, fast graphics, OpenGL, etc) because the current methods aren't cutting it.
On a side note, I think I have fallen in love with extreme hills on Large Biomes. There was a large thread earlier about how biomes were lacking. Now, I feel Large Biomes has in a way fixed it. Now that a biome fills half a map, there is so much room to put content in each type of biome. Extreme Hills have some scattered trees, Tiaga has large mountains, not to mention you can find ruins in both desert and jungle now. Though, if they are going to make sandstone villages in desert, I wish they would do something like cobblestone villages in snow. Seems like villages are only limited to plains and desert. At least put them in swamp! ... or are they already?

For example, I prefer the default pack, but I do like having a more realistic sun/moon and if I could even get a cool set of night sky stars in there by simply dragging the pack in, that would be awesome!

When you use a program like Amidst, it will show you all the Nether Fortresses near your spawn. Sometimes you get lucky and see one right away, but many are 200-400 blocks away and when you are trying to explore in the Nether, they can be trickier than in the regular world to just stumble upon one.
Like others said, just keep looking. They are there.

Your count of rude replies to users on this thread is getting pretty high. Maybe you should take a break and blow of some steam outside for a while. You stated your opinion and it's been heard loud and clear. There is nothing more to benefit from you continuing to trash Mojang and this community.

Thanks! I was wondering if pics had already been released.

There are two purposes in this game, building and surviving. Surviving out in the wild is a big broad term that can mean a lot more than zombies. This is why "hunger" (although many folks seemed to hate it) matched up with the game because it is something you deal with when surviving off the land. Safety indoors at night is another great foundation of this game and should remain that way. I'm just saying they can do it better ways than adding buffs to zombies. (i.e. Skeleton improvement was good)

And why is everyone still hating on gravel? Gravel is a perfectly realistic material found in the real world, whether useful or not. If anything, I'd like it if gravel replaced sand in icy or taiga biomes along the beaches. As for a use, gravel is still my primary material for making roads.

I agree with this from Pxex. Anyone who threatens to quit the game is doing so in vain. No one will care and no one will miss you. I'm not trying to put anyone down because I don't know any of these folks personally; it's just the truth of it. I played Blizzard games for years and people used to do this on the forums there all the time. Not a single person quitting had an impact on the company OR the player base. There are too many people playing this game now. Even if 10,000 quit today, it wouldn't be enough to make anyone blink an eye.

Also, can pigs drop leather too? Pig leather is still used today so it's not unrealistic.
