posted a message on More in 1.7: Resource Pack Selection
I think some RP creators will like this because many only make specific things but have to include all the other textures so that it is usable. Now, they can just alter the ones they want and leave the rest.

For example, I prefer the default pack, but I do like having a more realistic sun/moon and if I could even get a cool set of night sky stars in there by simply dragging the pack in, that would be awesome!

posted a message on Nether fortress
Terrain is more difficult to explore in the Nether. In the normal world, there is a defined sea level that covers a large chunk of the explorable Y dimension. In the Nether, the lava level is lower so you have to cover a lot more Y range. Also, the Nether is essentially designed like one giant cave so while you may cover a large open area and see nothing, there could be another massive open area above or below you.

When you use a program like Amidst, it will show you all the Nether Fortresses near your spawn. Sometimes you get lucky and see one right away, but many are 200-400 blocks away and when you are trying to explore in the Nether, they can be trickier than in the regular world to just stumble upon one.

Like others said, just keep looking. They are there.

Just revert the AI to the old (non-crazy) AI for Normal and Easy. Simple solution, everyone is happy.

I'm not saying it's destroying the game, new content always welcome, but they are focusing in of FLOWERS instead of the MOBS.

Yeah, HOLIDAYS. Their always on a holiday and don't care about the game.
    New mobs, new items.
Surprising my 7 year old computer, can run the biggest mods, what add over 60 mobs. Weird!

Your count of rude replies to users on this thread is getting pretty high. Maybe you should take a break and blow of some steam outside for a while. You stated your opinion and it's been heard loud and clear. There is nothing more to benefit from you continuing to trash Mojang and this community.

posted a message on Dinnerbone Acknowledges 1.6 Zombie AI
I look forward to the change. I welcome improvements that make the game more difficult if that corresponds to what difficulty setting you have set. For "Hard" above, make the zombie hordes absurd. However, for users on "Normal", it did seem excessive. I walled off all nearby towns and added two golems in each town and could barely keep up with the zombies. The game is not supposed to be focused on killing hordes of zombies, which is why it should be changed and balanced. If we want to add more difficulty, add something to another mob rather to making zombies flat out ridiculous.

There are two purposes in this game, building and surviving. Surviving out in the wild is a big broad term that can mean a lot more than zombies. This is why "hunger" (although many folks seemed to hate it) matched up with the game because it is something you deal with when surviving off the land. Safety indoors at night is another great foundation of this game and should remain that way. I'm just saying they can do it better ways than adding buffs to zombies. (i.e. Skeleton improvement was good)

posted a message on Make more uses for Lapis Lazuli!
Not so sure on making it a material for armor. Something that would make more sense is having it be a material used in potions. For instance, if you are dead set on it being something for armor, then make it a material for a potion of damage reduction.

And why is everyone still hating on gravel? Gravel is a perfectly realistic material found in the real world, whether useful or not. If anything, I'd like it if gravel replaced sand in icy or taiga biomes along the beaches. As for a use, gravel is still my primary material for making roads.

Ok, i am not against grinding, but REALLY? You are wanting to completely quit the game because of it? Keep in mind that if you DO quit, no one will miss you, so using that as a reason to change anything is completely absurd. And no one cares that you have been on here sense beta, it doesn't make you any more important that someone who just bought the game. I know you found out the fix for you grinder, but still.

I agree with this from Pxex. Anyone who threatens to quit the game is doing so in vain. No one will care and no one will miss you. I'm not trying to put anyone down because I don't know any of these folks personally; it's just the truth of it. I played Blizzard games for years and people used to do this on the forums there all the time. Not a single person quitting had an impact on the company OR the player base. There are too many people playing this game now. Even if 10,000 quit today, it wouldn't be enough to make anyone blink an eye.

I like gravel, I use it for road systems between my home and other villages. I also like cauldrons for making decorative kitchens and alchemy rooms.

The one block i do not use and in fact have never used is sponge.

posted a message on Change pork chops to bacon
Unless your Canadian, the meat that drops from pigs looks more like pork than slices of bacon. Porkchops should stay as porkchops. Worst case, add bacon to the game.

Also, can pigs drop leather too? Pig leather is still used today so it's not unrealistic.
