One of the major bugs with this snapshot makes every entity freeze, making the game unplable...I'm disappointed.... There has to be a b version
Same thing is happening for me. My comp isn't the greatest, but it has always played the game fine before. I think the RAM update is helping with chunk rendering, but it does seem that there is a consistent lag of a second or two every 8-10 seconds. For now, I just learned to swing my sword like crazy when the zombies would suddenly stop moving for a bit. I hope they get this worked out for 1.3 or at least offer updated video settings for those who are experiencing this (i.e. java XMS RAM, fast graphics, OpenGL, etc) because the current methods aren't cutting it.
On a side note, I think I have fallen in love with extreme hills on Large Biomes. There was a large thread earlier about how biomes were lacking. Now, I feel Large Biomes has in a way fixed it. Now that a biome fills half a map, there is so much room to put content in each type of biome. Extreme Hills have some scattered trees, Tiaga has large mountains, not to mention you can find ruins in both desert and jungle now. Though, if they are going to make sandstone villages in desert, I wish they would do something like cobblestone villages in snow. Seems like villages are only limited to plains and desert. At least put them in swamp! ... or are they already?

Other than that, of course, I would want this. Pretty sure the majority of the community wants more underwater content and that the dev team knows this. Many would joygasm if they added something as simple as seaweed or seashells.

Even if your computer is awesome, sometimes a graphics card can just totally hate certain games. There are so many combinations of systems and video cards that it is impossible for manufacturers, Sun Microsystems, and Mojang to account for all of them. Unfortunately, there are going to be some folks who just can't seem to get the game to run well, no matter what they do. My comp is 4 years old and runs the game perfectly so disregard the folks complaining about the quality of your computer. It's possible that it is just dumb luck with your computer configuration.

I stayed in a corner frozen in fear until it turned day.

LOL This totally reminded me of the Simpsons episode where Lisa was eating kosher or vegan and Homer asked her if she was giving up bacon, ham, and pork chops. To which Lisa responded that they all come from the same animal. Then Homer, in disbelief, says, "oh lisa, as if there were some sort of mystical magical animal like that!"
Just on the day of Passover. And it's not all bread, just leaven bread (i.e. crackers are okay because there is no yeast). Since there are no crackers in Minecraft, he would have to avoid bread. I think though, he would still be okay to handle wheat for animal breeding.
If only you could eat eggs, since they are part of the passover feast.

This was my thought. If you killed them all in the area you explored, you need to go to new areas. When those areas render, animals will appear. You can then lure them back to your home with wheat and fence them in and breed them.
IMO chickens are the easiest to breed and get food from.

I'm on 32-bit and since updating to 1.0, it auto-set me to normal distance and says that far distance requires 64-bit.

I'd feel the same way if I had created a mod and Notch used it!
Though, I think the right thing was done in leaving the Aether as a mod. From your earlier replies I assume you know this too. I do like the general rule Minecraft has done to leave most of these things as optional mods. That way, if you want it, you can have it, but you also aren't forced into it.
