One thing you've forgotten to mention... They are also trying to retain a shred of backward compatibility so all the mods won't have to change overnight, as is the case with the Numeric/Named block ID change, Modders still have a while before having to change, since both are still working at this time, but the smart ones will adapt early.
Good point, thanks for adding that -

Well guys, you can isolate yourselves from reality but Mojang cant really run a company properly.I have been lying myself all along to think they will actually improve this game. The only good things they added recently was command blocks and resource packs(even though i cant change the music files of the records.Goodjob for that), most of the things they have added is things i could have found in mods years ago.Horses?Been in the mods for years?New terrains?(which are useless) been there too.Stained glasses other blocks?Yep.Seriously this game isnt changed from the beta(or maybe even alpha) that much.It is the same boring game to make you hope they will actually improve. The sad thing is modder community is better at coding in java than Mojang. So i dont think this game will get any decent improvements unless they sell the rights of this game or hire some decent programmers. There are just so many flaws in this game that makes the good aspects getting drowned by it.
It's always easier to identify problems than offer solutions. In a similar way, it's also easier to offer a quick fix or improvement to an existing system than it is to building something from the ground up. This is why it looks like the modding community gets all the praise and glory. Mojang works on a lot of the behind-the-scenes and nitty-gritty stuff that ends up laying the groundwork for the modding community to look good when they produce something applicable. It's not like they spent weeks and weeks on stained glass. Stained glass was just one of the fun visual things they did along with other bug fixes.
If all they did was stained glass and new biomes, MCP wouldn't still be playing catch up. There were lots of major changes (i.e. laying foundation for API stuffs) done that we don't see and cannot appreciate. -

They have been promising so many things they cant fulfill. They were talking about mod api for years, still no progress on it.I can surely accept, this game is nothing without mods
They have been working on the api, but the groundwork for it takes a lot longer than the things we see. It's no far off from when you see a construction crew building a new home or building. What takes the longest? The foundation. Seems like they stand around the empty lot for months doing nothing. Then suddenly when the foundation is set and done, a building seems to appear overnight. After that, the slowdown is all the minor details inside the structure.
It's no different with the API. Most of the recent updates have included something that is setting a foundation for a modding API. It takes a long time and it seems like they are doing nothing. Then some day you'll suddenly see them announcing all these new things we can actually work with on the API and we will be like, "took you long enough!" In truth, they were always working, it just took a long time to lay the groundwork.
For the record I'm not pulling this out of my butt, I do software development for a living. You'd be surprised how many months you can spend on the functionality of one button. Building a game with a modding API from the start is a lot easier than adding one to an existing game. -

I'm not even near to 5 year.
I'm not saying it's destroying the game, new content always welcome, but they are focusing in of FLOWERS instead of the MOBS.
Yeah, HOLIDAYS. Their always on a holiday and don't care about the game.
New mobs, new items.
Surprising my 7 year old computer, can run the biggest mods, what add over 60 mobs. Weird!
Your count of rude replies to users on this thread is getting pretty high. Maybe you should take a break and blow of some steam outside for a while. You stated your opinion and it's been heard loud and clear. There is nothing more to benefit from you continuing to trash Mojang and this community. -

May 3, 2013Marko413 posted a message on Snapshot 13w18a Ready For Testing; 1.5.2 Now LiveSince the coal block can smelt a bit more than a full stack this gives more reason to have hoppers and chests over your furnaces.Posted in: News
Just sayin' to the efficiency freaks like me.
8 coal blocks = 9 stacks of whatever you want to cook/smelt -

No, that's not what that means. It has to do with mods/hacks that want to make "falling sand" look like other blocks (lava flying out of a volcano, for example). This shouldn't impact vanilla minecraft at all.
Some more detail on what that means in this thread:
http://www.minecraft...just-bug-fixes/
including an awesome example of how that can be used:
Ahh okay, I get it. Thanks everyone for clarifying that -

- Some lighting optimizations, no bug fixes yet sorry
- FallingSand support for block IDs > 128
double sad face on the lighting.
...wait, on the sand... so when you were higher than 128 sand didn't fall?
If this is true, I need to build a massive sand patch over my friends homes before they update to the latest snapshot! - Some lighting optimizations, no bug fixes yet sorry

Jan 31, 2013Marko413 posted a message on Snapshot 13w05a Ready For Testing!Interesting. So, if I'm understanding this right, snow can come in slabs now and it takes 4 slabs to reach the height of a block?Posted in: News
Or am I getting that wrong because then you would have a negative return crafting slabs. -
Jun 28, 2012Marko413 posted a message on Snapshot 12w26a Available For TestingYay this snapshot cleared out the lag problem I was having where the game would hang for a second every 7-10 seconds. That got really annoying, but it doesn't seem to be doing it at all now! 1.3 here we come!Posted in: News

That's the spot! Thanks BigAlanM, I probably should have actually tried going back there first before replying. I just remember it being in the general vicinity.
I also found horses near village 4 at (1705, -1060), but I think I prefer the location of village 3. Just seems easy to link villages 1,2,3 with a road/rail. Since I am building my permanent home in the desert oasis in the mountains, I am using village 1 as my main resource village with rabbits and pigs. Then I put cows and chickens in village 2 and plan to build stables in village 3.

As I explored around further in this world, I documented 2 temples, 2 surface dungeons, and 4 villages. I'm adding a MCMap graphic with labels showing where everything is. I setup camp in Village 1 while I plan out how to build my home throughout the mountain oasis. Since Village 2 and 3 are so close in their Z axis, it was easy to build a rail line between the 3 villages. Between Village 1 and Village 2 is the pit to the abandoned mine so I put a minecart stop there as well.
In the surface dungeons and temples, there were diamonds, horse armor, and other typical goods. Anyhoo, its a cool map and worth checking out. If you are a purist on survival, your biggest challenge is going from the spawn island to Village 1, but you should be able to hit it before night. On the graphic, the villages are a little larger than how they start out, I added to them and built city walls. Enjoy!

That all being said, if we can steer this in a more constructive direction, many in the community would like furniture. However, as KingzofDawn mentioned, you can make your own that has the basic appearance. What I assume the OP is getting at is furniture that is interactive like beds. I would like a chair I can sit in (not just a stair step). I would like a table I place a cake or flower pot on (not just a fence post and floor plate).
In terms of priority, I put these kinds of ideas low on the totem pole compared to plug-in API and other bug fixes. However, once those things are squared away, I would love to have rooms filled with items I can do more than just look at.

There is no such option to have both just in case anyone was thinking of wandering outside of reality. This situation stinks and we wish it to get done as quickly as possible, but in order for one of the two to happen, the other has to be let go.

My response wasn't based on personal opinion, yours is. The OP comment was that NOTHING new was added, I was simply correcting them. I didn't say whether I like them or if the changes were good or bad, but it needed to be clarified that changes had in fact been made.
By your response we now know your true colors. When you complain, it's all based around what you want and what you think should be done and how the game is ruined for millions of people because you didn't get what you want. amrite?

Yes they have. They are adding 3 new kinds of stone with crafting recipes for them. They are also adding iron trapdoors and more interaction with villagers. Granted, the villagers need some more work, but as others have said, it's still in development. All of these features affect Survival mode.

My thought exactly, nice job OP!
