We want to build an active community that enjoys playing with each other as much as they enjoy playing the game.
Who are you looking for?
People who are familiar with the game and have something to bring to the table, such as skill with redstone or building. We'd like people that can play regularly, not people that just hop on once a week for an hour. It's also required that you're 16 or older, since mature language is often used.
Do I need a mic?
A mic is not required but it is HIGHLY recommended. Talking instead of typing greatly improves the experience and will make playing with others more enjoyable. That being said, Discord is required, as it allows us to talk to everyone more effective outside of Minecraft.
What is your server?
The server is whitelisted vanilla running the latest version of the game (not snapshots). The map is customized, giving a somewhat amplified feel to it, without melting your PC (images below). Also, the seed we're using has all biomes within a close proximity to spawn. Command blocks for one person sleep is the only non-vanilla thing we use (does not affect local difficulty).
Why are you reopening apps?
The server has been around for about a month, and as most whitelisted servers experience, some of our players have dropped, leaving only the more active ones. So continuing a cycle of recruiting new players helps us weed out the inactives and keep the actives!
Pictures
How do I apply?
It's a two step process:
#1. Reply below with your age, username, and tell us what you enjoy doing in Minecraft (i.e. redstone contraptions, building, massive farms).
#2. If accepted, you will be PMed by either me or one of our mods/admins with the Discord link. Once you join the Discord, say "hi" in the #recruiting thread and you'll be let on the server!
First off, I've used a lot of mods, and this is by far my favorite.
Just some suggestions:
- The NPCs look wired with their arms sticking out while holding a sword, maybe make them hold it like a player?
- Guards don't defend villagers from the player if a player repeatedly punches a villager, maybe make them defend?
- Maybe add an option in that allows you to spawn a villager of the opposite gender who is automatically your spouse when you make a world.
- You may already be doing this for 1.3, but making this mod supported in "Open to LAN" would be absolutely... EPIC!
Thanks for making this mod, it's given me hours of enjoyment.
I was randomly generating new maps, hoping to get a good enough seed to start an SSP world when I got this one! I was so disappointed with Minecraft's 1.2.5 world generator, as it usually generates the mild terrain without anything that really stands out as awesome. Here are some screenshots that give you a glimpse of how awesome the seed is. Also, right beside the Mountain biome is a large Jungle Biome. Also near spawn is a Snow Biome, Plains Biome, and Forest Biome. There is even a spider dungeon in one of the caves within the mountain!
Screenshots!
Spider Dungeon!
View From Spawn! (It Gets More Epic!)
Exposed Section Of The Mountain!
Mountain Arch!
Large Overhang With A Lake!
Huge Cavern Within The Mountains!
Hope you enjoy this seed! This is by far the best map generation I've gotten on Minecraft 1.2.5. If you find anything else worth noting in this post about the map, please leave a comment below. They are very much appreciated!
Things To Note
If you dig a mineshaft directly beside the spider spawner, you will hit a large cave. Inside the cave is a Skeleton Spawner.
The report Minecraft gave you talked about Java, and how it was part of the problem. Make sure Java is updated all the way, and reinstall it if you want to be fully sure it will work. Play some more, and if it happens again, reinstall everything associated with Minecraft to fix it.
Hey, hear him out just a bit, ok? My friend told me they were adding snow men (golems) and I was like, "You lie." then I found out they were going to be added.
Did you know that the greatest tales of all time also feature the greatest tails of all time? It's true! Think about it. Charlotte's Web - Wilbur's tail is the best part of that tale. Lord of the Rings - Remember that part when Legolas swung around on the Oliphaunt's tail like Tarzan? OH! And let's not forget Alice in Wonderland. Remember how Alice had a tail? No? Hmmm. Must have dreamed that.
Get the latest version of JOLICRAFT for Java and Bedrock edition at
My name is Jolicoeur, so I called it Jolicraft. It's pronounced "Jolly Craft" by the way. My name means "Happy Heart", so I guess Jolicraft means "Happy Craft". So maybe I should have called it HappyCraft, because I'm generally quite happy. But I'm not always happy. Sometimes I run out of wine. Sometimes there's no hot water for my bath. Sometimes when I'm changing my son's diaper, he pees on me.Minecraft is a game about crafting the world around you. What better way to craft the world than to craft the very stuff the world is made of? I had a great time creating Jolicraft, it's so addictive to create textures and see them live in your own world. I didn't really intend to push the pack as far as I did, but damn this [profanity=""] is addictive. It's as addictive as Minecraft itself, which is saying alot. This is Minecraft people. As with life, don't take it too seriously. A good plentiful helping of Jolicraft will wash the dust away from your dreary world.
Why did you make this 16x16? Wouldn't it be awesomer if it was 32x32 or 128x128 or 1080x1080?I love 16p texture packs. It seems the perfect resolution to match the style of Minecraft. The purposefully crude low-res pixel crafting nature of the game was simply made for 16x16 textures, anything more just feels weird - like drinking red wine while eating hotdogs. Which Notch does every morning at the breakfast table. Although I'm sure one day I'll be bored and play around with a 32x32 version, just for the fun of it.Can you please add more sidegrass?Let me explain why this is almost no sidegrass on Jolicraft dirt. I like sidegrass in many texture packs. Sometimes it works and looks great for the type of grass & dirt they've created. But Jolicraft dirt is different. It's firm and scoopable. The grass is a thin layer on top of the dirt, so more sidegrass makes no sense as it either makes the grass layer feel thicker than I want or it makes the thin grass all droopy. Think of my dirt like cake with icing on top, so when you scoop through it the grass doesn't instantly hang down the side, it stays firm. And the grass overhangs just a tiny bit to cast a slight shadow down the side of the dirt. It's that crisp edge that makes Jolicraft dirt different from other dirt. It's not that I'm against sidegrass in general, just sidegrass in Jolicraft.I asked you to change a texture and you didn't. What gives?I'm sorry. You had good intentions in suggesting a change, but I didn't care for it. Don't be angry! I don't care for lots of stuff that other people like. And I care for lots of things that other folk don't like. And I'm neutral to things that many people aren't neutral to. What a world! Does that answer your question?I'm making my own pack or map, and I want to use a texture from your pack. Can I?I get lots of requests from folks asking if they can use specific textures in their packs and maps. I don't mind if you use any of my textures, help yourself and enjoy! But I just ask that if you do use something I've made that you state somewhere in your thread what you used of mine, and include a link to this thread via the Jolicraft logo (http://img607.images.../5724/sig5f.png). And I STRONGLY encourage you to not rely on anything I've made. Making a few textures doesn't take long. It's much more satisfying to create something original than to rely on someone else's creations. Wouldn't you agree? What's wrong with you?Once when I was young I pushed a toothpick into my ear and it went all the way in and didn't come out. I've not been quite right since then.
-Updated to 6.0.0-beta for Minecraft 1.12.2 on June 1st 2019-
Latest News (6/1/2019)
Although the forums will soon be in read-only mode, we wanted to let those still following this thread know that....
We're back! MCA has been updated to 6.0.0-beta. This version has been written from the ground up to be more robust and compatible with multiplayer and other mods. Check it out and continue the discussion post-forums here: https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/minecraft-comes-alive-mca
Say goodbye to those ugly and boring squidward-nosed villagers! Minecraft Comes Alive (MCA) aims to give Minecraft's villagers an expanded use within the game by transforming them into humans.
Comprehensive Install/Gameplay Review by IDEDonline
No more terrible villager sounds! "Hrrh?", you might ask? Villagers are now human, have names, speak to you, and can be male or female.
You can interact with villagers in many ways, such as chatting with them, asking them to follow you, hiring them to do work, giving them gifts, and more!
Interacting with villagers builds relationships. Get your relationship high enough, and you'll be able to marry a villager.
Once you're married, you can have children. Children will grow up over time and do many different chores for you.
Children eventually grow up into adults, who can get married and have children of their own.
You can marry other players and have children in SMP and LAN.
There's no loss of original Minecraft functionality. MCA villagers can be traded with, and any modded villagers are not overwritten with MCA villagers.
Note: MCA connects to a remote server to check for updates and also send us crash reports.

Note: Removing the block that you spawned on, and not placing a block back (So if there is no block on your spawn point) then dieing may spawn you elsewhere as it is too small to pick a spawn close by. So it will spawn you on the mainland, and it will be impossible to get back. Be careful! (This problem is fixed for the versions that are above this spoiler.)

Change the biome for SkyBlock 2.0/2.1:
If for some reason you are tired of your water turning into ice and don't know how to place a torch next to your water source, you can switch the snow biome to a non snow biome.
Download the level.dat that corresponds with the version of SkyBlock you are playing, and replace it.
Note: You will have to skip challenge #32.
Make sure you replace the level.dat before you start the map, or place everything that is in your inventory in a chest. If you do not do so, your items in your inventory will be gone.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Read the title of each spoiler. View the contents of a spoiler to answer your questions. Not everything will be here, as this map is meant to be a challenge, so not everything can be answered.
Here is a video from KerflumexedPenguin about the basics of SkyBlock. Thanks
"How do I keep my water from re-freezing?"
This is a very simple fix. To stop your water from re-freezing, as this is in a Tundra (snow) biome, simply place a block above your water source, or a torch next to the source. There are alternative downloads for the level.dat file, but this will eliminate a challenge and therefore you can't complete them all.
"How do I light a Nether portal without Flint & Steel?"
This is very simple to do, but it may take a few tries. The basic idea is to get your lava to light a piece of wood or something else flammable, and have the fire spread through the portal frame so it ignites, therefore activating it.
Step-by-step guide by iiTzWho
How to light the portal without Flint & Steel
It is actually really easy, if the wood burns out before it lights, try again
The rest will be in spoilers, each step in a separate spoiler
First Step
First, set up the portal (I wasn't in SkyBlock for this, therefor had 14 obsidian not 10)
Second
Set up the wood, and a little barrier so the lava doesn't go everywhere
Third
Place the lava down, let it catch fire to one of the planks, then grab it back up
Fourth
Both planks should be burning..
Fifth
The portal should be lit, if not - try again
Hope this helped somehow, good-luck with SkyBlock
TL;DR - Set up portal, put wood at base and back of portal, light wood at base, let it spread to back, BAM portal lit.

"How do I get gold ingots?"
Go to the Nether (with guide above) and make a platform there for zombie pigmen to spawn on. Kill them for gold nuggets. Once you have 9 gold nuggets, place them in a crafting table in a 3x3 fashion, which creates one gold ingot.
*15+ hours of game-play may change due too play style.
Woh.. I'm actually getting pretty good at photoshop

This is another guy! He's pretty cool and makes interesting videos! Support him if you want!
This map isn't your ordinary survival in the skies map.. It has crazy loot, inspired by borderlands 2/Diablo III And it has crazy monsters. It is like Skyblock, Super Hostile, and a RPG game, all mixed into one. I have done frequent testing of this map, and so have my friends, so any bugs will be fixed fast. This map also gets frequent updates, and It isn't even out of "Beta" yet, so It has a lot too do. But after playing this map, and my friends playing this map, they think it's amazing, and I love playing it too. I'm adding end game content at the moment, and so far it's going great. Thanks for reading.
Also, THERE'S A GOD DAMN LOT OF ARTIFACTS.
And heaps of loot. Loot loot loot.
Now with butter! Not just butter called "Gold" Real butter. Butter called butter.
Old Pictures
Please check out my youtube channel! It would help a lot (Extremely massive amount) if you do!
Please leave a post with your name with picture proof or video that you completed the monument to join the Legend List! Woo!

By: YouAlwaysWin (Very popular youtubers on their last episode of this map)
"This was a really really good map, I really liked this one. Except for the nether, but who cares? We had 20 something episodes of just pure, fun on this thing. Anyone who's a map builder should look at this map, as far as for like, Adventure, Survival. Don't you think?" "Oh for sure, I mean, not replicating this. But this kind of idea, with these multiple unique, biomes almost, and having it so you should collect things and make a monument like this, I think that by far, this is one of the best maps we've played. Ever." "Ever!"
Thank you guys for this amazing review, it really put my hopes up, I hope you guys don't burn in a fire/lava/TNT trap on the 2.5 update coming

If you have previously used MCPatcher for HD Textures, HD Fonts or Better Grass (important)
Follow these steps to prevent a possible "Black Screen" problem when installing OptiFine:
1. Temporarily revert back to the Default Texture Pack.
2. Uninstall the HD Textures, HD Fonts, and Better Grass mods from the MCPatcher. These functions are included in OptiFine.
3. Set Graphics to Fancy
4. Install OptiFine and test with the Default Texture Pack to make sure everything is working.
5. Select your previous texture pack and graphics settings
6. Run Minecraft and enjoy
Compatibility with other mods
When installing OptiFine together with other mods always make sure to install OptiFine last. The only exception are mods which are designed to be installed after OptiFine and say so in their install instructions.
If you need ModLoader: Install OptiFine AFTER ModLoader.
If you need Forge: Install OptiFine AFTER Forge.
MCPatcher is NOT needed for HD textures, HD fonts and BetterGrass, they are included in OptiFine. Install OptiFine without MCPatcher's HD features for best performance.
If you need DynamicLights (ModLoader edition): Install OptiFine AFTER DynamicLights.

Have you ever thought to yourself "Gee, Minecraft looks a bit flat and bland, I wish it would have some subtle depth to it!"? Well think no more! With the Defined texture pack every block is given a little bit more depth to make them look just that bit better! At first glance they may look just like the default textures, but on closer inspection they're quite a bit different... Don't believe me? Have some screenshots:
Refreshing Landscapes!
A new look for your crops!
Add charm to your villages!
Beautiful Strongholds!
Deeper ores!
Mobs!
Armour!
GUIs!
Animated Water and Lava! (And portals and fire!)
PremiumWood Mod!
Netherrocks!

1. Download the version of the texture pack you want above
2. Place the .zip into your Minecraft's texture pack folder
3. IF YOU ARE RUNNING MINECRAFT VERSION 1.4.7 OR LOWERYou MUST Download MCPatcher and patch your Minecraft for HD Textures. As an alternative, you can also use Optifine which, on top of being an amazing mod, supports HD textures! If you are running version 1.5 or higher you will not need this.
4. Load up Minecraft, and in the Texture Pack menu select "Defined.zip" or "Defined32.zip"
5. Enjoy! If you like the pack, be sure to click the green + at the bottom of this post!
It has come to my attention that a few people believe this to be a copy of 'Traditional Beauty', another variation of the default textures to make them look nicer. I must inform you that this is /not/ a copy of that, and although they are similar they each have differences. Here are a couple of comparison pictures:
And here's a quote from BlowJoe (The creater of Traditional Beauty) if you're still not convinced
Hey,
i just got here beacuse one of my TP users said that my (Traditional Beauty) and your Pack are looking pretty much the same. I have to say, no they aren't looking the same. Yes it is the same effect but the way to achieve this effect is in both TP an other. I realy like this pack and don't want that any of my users are comeing here and flameing it.
A *thumbs up* for this TP!
Choose whichever pack you will, but please try not to comment on this factor (:
Check out some videos of this pack in the spoiler!
'Allstar602' has created a very useful review of this texture pack! See it here:
'TheModSpotlight' has made a nice review of the pack! Check it out! 'MinecraftUniverse' has also done a video showing all the blocks, mobs and lots of items!
Hello there! Steph from Apollo here FYI: Bossreed21 was banned from our SMP server for lying about age and immaturity. We also had Aiphix run through our server as well, 'twas banned for xray.

What's your goal?
