That thing's 700 blocks? Also, with sails that small you'd be moving at a block an hour.

Well, how about something like this? :White: :White: :White: Or would it require a major overhaul?
    -------------------------------------------- :White:
    ---------------------------------- :White: :White: :White:
Maybe when you're done with all the important stuff you could add a config file to enable/disable physics?
Yes, it is 700 blocks. It moves forward at (what it says) 1.9 Meters a second. And it turns pretty fast, actually. Takes about 15~ or so seconds to turn from North to east, or west.

Sorry, parallel sails are not going to happen. There's just no way to make the physics work. Real ships that look like they have parallel sails actually don't have parallel sails. Look closely, the sails are always at an angle to catch the wind.I may increase the size again though. I'm honestly surprised not many people are reporting bugs with larger ships. Either people are not playing with larger ships, so somehow they have so far been bug-free.
I built a boat with the largest ship (700~ blocks). No bugs to report besides bugs that happen with normal/small ships. Like how if you turn the boat to not face a direct direction (North, South, East, and West) your character will start sliding towards the center of the ship. (The effect is stronger the farther away you are from the center of the ship) The effect is also stronger depending on how far away from a direct direction you are. For example, if you were pointing directly north west you would slide to the center of the ship much faster than if you were closer to just facing North

Edit: Here's my ship! It's beautiful.

Sorry for not having any real documentation on this. Eventually, I want to put a wiki on my website that explains how the mod works, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Here's the short version.

Make a ship out of blocks. Put sails on it. Make the sails out of cloth/wool blocks. Put a "Ship block" and a "Helm block" on the ships. Use the ship block to launch the ship. Once launched, use the helm block to pilot the ship.
May I ask what version of forge you are using? I keep falling out of every ship, even the smallest. No collisions whatsoever.

Edit: This isn't a problem with forge, this is a problem with MagicLauncher unfortunately. When I started the mod without using MagicLauncher it worked perfectly fine.

I've never tried Optifine. Does collision work correctly when Ships Mod is the only mod installed? Are there any crashes in your client log?Problems with collision are usually due to compatibility issues. Those are super hard to solve right now, but I'm working on a long-term solution. It could be caused by a bug too.
Even with your mod as a standalone without any other mods (I even tried all types of forge versions and the recommended) all you do is fall through the ship. I was guessing it was a config file error but the mod doesn't generate a config file anymore...?

Sadly, it is too difficult for some uses to upgrade to Java 7. The Minecraft installer on Windows makes this hard to do, and also older versions of OSX make this hard to do. I think we're just stuck with Java 6 for a while longer.

    In other news...

Ships Mod v0.6 beta has just been released!! This is mostly an update for the new supporters on Patreon. Here are the changes:
    • Added items for Patreon supporters:
    • List of Supporters
    • Supporter Plaque
    • Large Supporter Plaque
    • Raised ship block cap to 1000 blocks
    • Ships Mod is once again compatible with Java 6
As always, you can download the new version over at PlanetMinecraft.

Hmm, strange. v0.6 makes it so I don't collide with boats at all. Any boat.

SEUS v10.1 has bump map enabled. I'm guessing you want to know how to bump map a texture pack.

    What are your specs?
    Turn on/off shadow frustum?
I don't get this error with SEUS, but I sometimes get it with other shaderpacks.
The error in specific is that blocks from the surface aren't loaded so shadows do not generate from them. You probably need to turn the render distance up so it can generate the surface. Or you have other things turned on, like Advanced OpenGL or you have shadow frustum turned off.

Could you give a specific version?

This shader doesn't support all video cards. Intel HD integrated graphics can't support it.

Regarding the screenshots: that is fantastic looking! I absolutely love the cobblestone on the last screenshot, and the stone brick and log tops on the second screenshot!

However, I am still a bit confused. So, that is what we will wait for, but those features aren't currently publicly released? Or has the process changed?

You can let me know now, or after Sonic has more info on it if you want.
For Parallax in the newest preview of SEUS, open gbuffers_Terrain.fsh and look for line 405 in Notepad++. If line 405 isn't the same for you, this is what the line you are looking for should look like.

Then delete the // to enable it. Parallax should work. The parallax is a bit messy but it works perfectly.

In this thread, a friend of Sonic says it is possible in 1.6.4 and they posted many great pictures of it but everyone is so silent on how the hell we can make it work... I don't understand.
I've already gotten Parallax to work on the v10.1 preview. Let me show you how.
    Open gbuffers_Terrain.fsh
Use Notepad++ and find line 405 then delete the // to turn it from a comment to readable code.

yes but minecraft creates a crash report and specifies what made your game crash...
Minecraft DOESN'T crash. It hangs. It won't close out until you kill it in task manager.

    Crash report?
Minecraft doesn't crash. The display drivers stop responding and Minecraft turns into a white screen. Still no light on the issues because nobody wants to bother.

I'm having some weird problems. It looks horrible, I have no idea what is the cause of this but yeah..

    Here is it:

Now, I followed all the instructions, I got Minecraft Forge - Optifine - I followed the three settings FOR CLOUD AND whatnot.

    Anyone have suggestions?
If you read up a bit, Optifine is incompatible when you use 1.7.2 and shaders.

I will also have to learn gradle build system used in forge before I can share the mod.
Ooh, that's amazing progress. I'm guessing you have tested shaders like SEUS and Sildur's?

If your running an AMD card update your drivers to 13.12, the shaders work fine for my 7970.
I'm already updated, I have a Mobility Radeon HD 5870, our cards are way different.(In a sense that they were built differently)
