Checked just now with the latest version and a new world, no change in the desert. Still covered in snow and very cold.

The mountain desert liked to report the opposite though. Seemed to have much less snow and was warmer. It was bordering a cold biome that was respectively very cold and snow filled.

Investors always come with strings attached. Lots of strings. I'd like to make my game without investors if I can.

I've been working on a short ships mod update. I'll get back to Tall Worlds after that.

Yea. Usually trying to work making games for a living is extremely stressful if you don't have proper funds coming in. Hopefully it won't be so bad though ;D

I'm already liking the story you have going with the game as it is now, too, so hopefully the interest of the story can pull more people into wanting to play the game :) I notice /story/ is usually what a lot of games that go sandbox are missing nowadays. They still can be popular, but still... Terraria, Minecraft, Cubeworld, Starbound (Has a story but it isn't developed at all...), Starmade, (At least that I know of, for Starmade.) Space Engineers, Grav, StarForge (RIP you would-be magnificent game)... And That's all I can name off the top of my head xD. Checking my Steam list, I see Blockscape, Kenshi, and Kinetic Void (Unless I completely miss the point of the game). I miss storylines...

As for Minecraft, it wasn't really made with story in mind.

Nope, no argument from me. I snapped, plain and simple. His post may have, or may not have been written with an attitude, I personally believe it was, but either way it wasn't necessary for me to go off like that.

Bad day, early morning, and too many arrogant and/or idiotic posts = Snapped.

Chilled now but still, apologises people.

:( Well, I hope everything is alright otherwise. Hope things get better for you soon.

I see how you feel though, I constantly get the urge to write something aggressive towards someone if it tends to be stupid.

Yeah, it's a bit early to be talking about post-launch sustainability, but I think it's something I need to mention really early in the process. The last thing I want is for players to riot along the lines of "You never said this was going to be a subscription game"

It's a decision I'll probably have to revisit after the launch, but I just want to throw out there now that the possibility of a subscription is there if players want long-term updates. That way there can be no surprises. No one can say I wasn't being honest. =P

    Yes, it's possible. And it's planned. =)

Well, I hold buying into early-in-development games with the same way I see Early access games on Steam. Everything will change. Even if that means the way it's going to be marketed :)

Ah, they're mutants. I think that might be related to a bug I fixed a little while ago, don't remember if that one is pushed yet. Managed to get the project split up, as soon as the new widgets are in the OP, give it another try.

The item-tool there is listing off the biome parameters as seen by Forge, direct access to the class object that represents the biome. The bug I fixed relates to having incorrectly utilized that information (only for mod-added mutant biomes).

Ah, great. Love to see your activity with this. :D

[Enabling Soft Shadows 10.1 and 10.2 Ultra]

    • Open the "composite.fsh" file in the SEUS fold
    • Right at the top of the page you will see:
    • //#define ENABLE_SOFT_SHADOWS

    • Delete the // from the beginning of the line, save and exit.

    All done

I know what the issue is here, I know exactly what it is, what the cause is and how to fix it...... But you couldn't be bothered to read the mods description like you are supposed to Before installing a mod, and then you carry on with the "Can be bothered" attitude by just posting a screenshot and not even posting a simple "Help me!"

Seriously that's pretty rude. You put a screenshot on the thread in an "Oi fix it for me Now!" attitude and expect everyone on the forum to be a mind reader and come rushing to help you with "Your" issue which is caused by you not reading the descriptions and instructions.

Try putting more effort in and maybe you won't have issues in the future. And when you Ask Properly for help, I will post the answer and what the issue is.

You might be placing a bit too much foresight ahead of you there, considering there wasn't even as much as a word spoken there, but rather just implied attitude not even implied attitude. Don't be so rude, yourself... And as much of a blessing it would be to have everyone read simple bold text... It might not happen unless it's included where the download links are... (And until people figure out that their Intel HD graphics weren't exactly meant for these graphics)

    Really odd.

If you go into creative, there's an item...vitometer (looks like a food pyramid) if I recall the name correctly that will print statements into chat when you right click detailing the current biome. Use that on one of the troublesome ones and get back to me.

As you can see, there is snow everywhere, and oddly, enviromine reads this biome as cold, even though your tool specifies it as dry, and hot. (Is this being caused by enviromine?...)

Hey everyone, Frizzil here, I have some serious news:

I had a colonoscopy today, and by complete surprise, they discovered a two inch mass that appears malignant. Fortunately, though, it doesn't appear to have spread anywhere, and I'll be having surgery in the next few days (hopefully tomorrow) to remove it. After some testing we'll know for certain what kind of cancer I'm dealing with, what my outlook is, etc. However, it seems they caught it super early, which is great! Things are looking positive -- it's likely they'll just remove the affected section of the colon and I'll be better. And of course, I'm relieved to finally know what's been causing me pain! Not that I'm out of the woods... but thank God I asked my doctor for a colonoscopy, or I'd be in far worse trouble down the road!

If you've kept up or noticed the lack of streams over the last four weeks, you'll know that I haven't been well, and this would be a likely explanation to the problems I've been having (particularly the hip pain). I'll keep everyone posted as things progress -- I should have more info tomorrow. Thanks everyone for the support, and no need to worry just yet. Things currently look positive :)

It's hard not to worry... I really do hope things go well, and your life gets back in order, (and hopefully there won't be huge bills to pay!). It's awesome you're staying positive :D

Oooh, I know what's going on. The ID and the name need to be unique for the global registry.

Alright. I'll make the fix, moving over to registerModEntity (as I should already be doing). I won't be making a spawn egg item, as I don't think its necessary.

    Alright, thanks :D

Love your mod's compilation. Currently only using the harder ores and harder wildlife modules, though. :)

(Though, Enviromine kinda substitutes for what harder underground does :D )

Currently trying to find mods that up immersion and create more realism while keeping the fun and you have done just that ;)

Mods I'm using in combination with this:

    Backpack-2.0.1

    BetterFoliage-1.0.13

    BetterFps-1.0.1

    betterrain + core

    CaveBiomes-v1.0

    Chisel2-2.4.0.38

    Diversity-Alpha-1.5

    EnviroMine-1.3.118

    Exotic Birds

    fastcraft-1.21

    Fossils&Archeology Revival

    Fpsplus

    Oceancraft-1.4.1

    Optifine

RWG-alpha-1.3.2 (Having an odd problem with hot biomes being cold and sometimes having lots of snow (that melts because it suddenly turns hot)

ShadersModCore (Chocapic's Shaders medium, to be specific. :) )

    SoundFilters-0.8

    Streams-0.1.4

    WTFCore + Tweaks.

All work together very well! :)

(And also soon to be Animalsplus 1.2 thanks to you :D )

Yeah, those are the two options: 1) Continue to develop the existing game for the players who want to keep playing it. Or 2) abandon the game and develop something new instead and hope to create a new player base. Which would players prefer? I'm genuinely curious.

I'd definitely love a fresh breath of air to something new coming from you if I had played one of your games for so long :) . I have confidence you'd come up with something new that would be good. (even though we aren't exactly at the... getting to the decision making point on that yet...)

Edit: But honestly I'd rather go with what you prefer. If the game loses popularity and doesn't help with sales, then it might be good to just let go, but if it has lots of fan support and many playing it... Dropping it might feel like a stab in the back to that many who were playing. Just my thoughts, which I'm sure is common sense anyways :)

But that's the rub... the only way to make a living selling something is to create an exclusive club that's so compelling, people will pay to be a part of it. If you're categorically against exclusive clubs, then we need a completely different economic system than capitalism.

EDIT: If you think you're a part of the club but you're not paying for it, that means you're not the customer, that's not the real club, and the company has little economic incentive to care about what you want.

That's also why some people make a living by creating multiple games after one. Then again, subscription based games stay popular. Take World of Warcraft and EVE for example ;)

But right about anyone can keep a game alive if they stay on making and updating it. They usually only die if they lose support. Take Tribes Ascend and, well, everything HiRez makes for example.

That's the problem though, no matter what id I set it too, the entity Lizard is already registered. As in the name. ID number doesn't matter for some reason. (I've changed it a lot)

Edit: The error isn't saying an id number is taken, but rather the lizard is taken itself. I have no idea what I'm talking about though. I hardly mod. I've just been installing mods since way back in alpha ;)

Any way to disable the lizard? I'm having an ID naming conflict with Animals Plus 1.2, where both are the same name. I'm stuck at where to go, and I'd really like both to work together.

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: ID is already registered: Lizard

Edit: I found it very odd you added a lizard with what looks like just an extra sheep anyway :P

*And suddenly modders recreate the features in the newer updates for older versions*
