Ok, minecraft 101, chucks are 16x16x256 pieces of the world. When you go far away, chucks at your old location unload. When using teleport pipes addon, the chucks need to be loaded for them to work. Placing down a chunk loader block/teleport tether forces a 3x3 area of chunks to stay loaded when u leave. So 48x48x256 blocks are forced to load with each block. As you may imagine, on low end computers this may cause a bit of lag when placing lots of these blocks.

Dcom pretty much proved out that above 128 doesn't get loaded until you go above it. So chunks are still 16x16x128

Didn't see this as I scrolled back a bit but covers no longer fit correctly over logic blocks. It's as if the logic block got bigger and now take up the full block. Hopefully this change gets reverted.

Optifine MT is horribly broken don't use it in 1.2.3. original version is working fine.

All mods are OP. They are mods after all.

The crutial thing with this mod is the block loader. (Well also the advanced insertion pipe but I could work arround that.)

Good luck moving anything outside of 128 blocks with no block loader. Even if you could deal with the FPS hit.

A chunkloader block will load the chunk that it is in, as well as the 4 chunks that are laterally adjacent to it. It does not load the diagonally adjacent chunks. So the shape is like a "+" sign. Each chunk is 16x16, from the bottom of bedrock to the top of the sky.

When you have placed a chunkloader, you can press F9 to see the loaded chunks. Chunk boundaries will be shown in blue, each chunk that stays loaded will have a red square in the center.

Also what people seem to be missing is that chunk loaders do not override the anti movement code that went in with 1.0. This directly affects liquids(both lava and water). Basically when you get far enough away from a chunk everything in it stops moving. It will still be technically loaded but nothing can physically move. Machines will still work like your quarry and macerators but liquids and mobs will not move or update.

Note: this dos not always happen but I have had it happen enough that I keep lots of extra water in tanks as infinite water sources can dry up even though they are surrounded by chunkloaders. After a period of time things in what should be a loaded chunk will just stop moving. To move oil and lava from far chunks I have to sit by the pump until I have what I need or after about 5 minutes they will just stop sending to my base.

This may work differently in SMP as DaStormBringer has said his server stuff is working fine. But this is definitely how it works in SSP.

Assuming gets me into trouble so i decided to look at it this way.

    1. the copy code belongs to me.
    2. i don't plan on releasing any of her code so she cant get me that way
    3. decompilation and reverse engineering is strictly forbidden in the blog but the code its-self is in offense to the same reserved rights of mojang unless im mistaken and if i am please correct me so she is legally hung if she tries to kill me with this even if it is all original code.
    4. im a beginner so i need all the help i can get and if authors wont help themselves i have to look at their work
    5. sue me for a bloody reflection call? you'll spend more than you'll make. very apple like.

#3 is your answer and mojang has nothing to do with it. If you fail to comprehend what she has written why would you expect her to respond to what you have written.

It's my understanding that it doesn't force the chunks to load, as much as it prevents them from unloading.
Of course, when you log out, all chunks unload... so you need to visit your quarry after you log in to load them again.

Incorrect. At least in SSP chunk loaders do load chunks after you restart the game. They don't take priority over other loading but they do load eventually.

I'm trying to teleport power to a pump but when I turn the engines on for power MC crashes.
And when try to load my world it crashes again and only when I use mcedit to delete the teleport pipe I can load my world again just to crash again when I place the teleport pipe, so it is a consistent error.

So can someone parse this into English for me?
The furthest I came was that the mod either put liquid in to power pipe or vice versa.

Edit: Figured it out by accident, if you place a power teleport pipe besides a waterproof woodenpipe it will give this error.

A lot of people are having this same issue. No word on if it's getting looked at or not. Haven't seen Dastormbringer on for a while.

    FFS stop this.

If you want to troubleshoot a lag issue start by removing all your mods and get back to vanilla. Add them back in one at a time until you find what is causing the lag.

This script (pulled from the EE thread) will dump all sorts of info to a command console. Edit it to match your environment.

An update about the RP2 wiki and why I'm losing enthusiasm for contributing to it

The wiki is hosted on wikispaces.com, which doesn't use Mediawiki, the software used on Wikipedia.

Curse has set up the vanilla Minecraft wiki to use Mediawiki, and takes advantage of it to implement custom formats to allow complex things with just a few simple lines of text, including

    • sidebars containing block stats
    • recipes using images showing the crafting or smelting layouts
On the Minecraft wiki each of these things can be put in using about a dozen lines of text, without any HTML. Simple, and the text has a very high signal-to-noise ratio.

There is a contributor who insists on emulating the Minecraft wiki.

Using wikispaces it's possible to emulate the fancy formats configured into Mediawiki for the Minecraft wiki using something called a "widget", which is nothing more that a container holding raw HTML/CSS. In contrast to the simple way to invoke the MediaWiki formats, emulating them takes 30-50 lines of HTML/CSS with a very low S/N ratio since 95% of the text is boilerplate formatting.

Widgets show up as blue placeholder boxes in wikispaces' Visual Editor, and as lines like
    [[media type="custom" key="12175376"]]
in the WikiText Editor. When editing a page you can't even see a widget's content until you start the Widget Editor, which pops open a dialog box that displays the 30-50 lines of HTML/CSS in a six line edit window, so lots of scrolling is involved to find the text needed to edit.

Since the widgets aren't a templating system, the boilerplate formatting is copied everywhere a particular style is used. This is cut-and-paste coding, which is a poor programming practice. Some of the articles contain dozens of widgets.

I'm not against making the wiki look as good as the Minecraft wiki, but it would be better if the proper tools were used to accomplish it. If we want to emulate the Minecraft wiki's formatting, the wiki should be moved to a Mediawiki host.

Otherwise, if the wiki stays on wikispaces.com, we should remain true to the ethos of a wiki being simple to edit and do without the fancy formats because of the repeated blocks of 30-50 lines of HTML/CSS needed to implement them. The use of so much HTML/CSS will limit contributions from people who don't know web coding.

I've had quite a back-and-forth with this contributor without convincing him to either keep the wikispaces.com formatting simple or advocate for a switch to MediaWiki hosting.

I have a hard time maintaining enthusiam for editing the wiki pages filled with the widgets, because I know that a much better solution is available. Dealing with editing 30-50 lines of boilerplate HTML/CSS through a tiny six line window in sections that are repeated frequently in the articles becomes so tedious that I start thinking that I have better ways to make use of my time.

Wait, There is a RedPower Wiki?

More info om my lag/liquid issue. This may be an issue between logistics pipes and teleport pipes. Today's reposition of the quarry had me run back to the base from a different angle and as usual I got hit by a ton of lag and engines trying to blow up. What I noticed this time however was that it looks like everything that was in my LP tubes had been ejected on the ground.

This would explain the lag and why it's gotten worse as I have expanded my base. The lag also subsides after about 5 minutes which would match up nicely with items despawning.

Does TP do a re-eval of all the connections when you attach a new TP pipe into the network and could this be causing LP to puke? I only have one TP on my LP network that I use for remote ordering and it isn't attached when when I am having the issue.

Still no idea why being out the 124 block area affects this when it's not an issue at base. My base is also pretty much covered with block loaders, but from my understanding that should not be an issue anyway.

I will look into it but won't commit to anything concerning the recipe at this point. There is other large bugs present in additional pipes that need to be corrected as I have the spare time, and to be honest I don't want to push a client / server update to just "fix" a recipe for 1 mod.

Anyone have suggestions for a recipe? what about 8 Iron in a square with a lapis in the middle?

Purple dye might be more appropriate.
