    With 1.8 Minecraft slowly began to head down the path of becoming more like a RPG in my opinion. Potions are fun. New structures and mobs are fun. Cats? Cool. Bats? Meh, not a big fun but they sound interesting. Witches? Hello no. So your going to add something fora single small holiday that will be in the game forever? What? That doesn't make any sense too me.It seems like Minecraft is becoming one of those games where they add stuff just for the sake of adding stuff.

    I have been playing since beta 1.5, not early enough to experience Alpha and indev and all that but long enough to remember when it was pretty simple. The old terrain generation. The old textures and sounds. I rarely play vanilla Minecraft anymore, everything in vanilla I have done so I play stuff like Technic,Terrafirmacraft, and MineZ. I guess I have just been feeling really nostalgic lately. Will I update untill the mods I use update? No. Vanilla is a thing of the past for me. Now I guess its time to get ripped into by people who cant take someones opinion when its different from theirs. I thought forums were for sharing opinions.

    Some of the graphical tweaks don't work such as void fog, and depending on the order you install it in the key bind for zoom is effected.

    Well, what I really want to know is why my maps with battlegear content were deleted. I lost a ton of progress on Nightmare Realm. I came home today hoping to go raid a dungeon I found only to find the map deleted.

    And to get a ton of mods that would normally be incompatble, people like that usually have to do some coding or something along those lines. Ever heard of Technic Pack?

    Might just be the version you use and the order you install the mods in. I lost the zoom ability and a lot of detail/animation/stuff like that options.

    Optifine is iffy with Battlegear. I would go with MCpatcher.

    Incopmatibility/Map-deletion
    • All right so I was in the middle of a Super Hostile map when i installed version 2.7.7.1 with forge 3.2.3.108 like instructed. So i I got it all set up with sheilds and swords and ect I played for a while and even created a new map to look at the banners. Then when i left and fired up minecraft the next day- the maps that had Battlegear content were gone. There is no way to open them now even with just plain vanilla.
    • Optifine 1.2.5 HD MT B2
    • I am using forge version 3.2.3.108
    • No crash, worlds with battlegear were just deleted.

    Dig a level 10 with a 2x2 tunnel that goes on forever. I got aout 3 stacks of legit diamonds that way in about 2 days.

    Using SPC and mo'creatures, i spawned 10,000 cats. It crashed the computer (which was a friends btw).

    posted a message on Did the Terrain Become BORING? (UPDATE 6/5/13 - 1.7 is a biome update?)
    What seeds were like in 1.7:
    (seed 1): You spawn near this big cave and all around you is this cool desert that all mountainey!
    (seed 2): I spawned on this gravel beach and if you walk over to these snowy mountains, you can find a triple dungeon!
    (seed 3): I found this really cool flat forest, and then its surrounded on all sides with steep, woody mountains.

    What seeds were like as of 1.8:
    (seed 1): Well, you spawn in this flat forest biome, next to a big ocean.
    (seed 2): I spawned next to these mountains that were next to a desert, and over yonder was a swamp.
    (seed 3): There is this mountain range next to an ocean, and on the other side of it, it this never-ending taiga biome.

    So pretty much with the new seeds of 1.8 its not really about the cool formations, its about what biomes are next to each other.
