Not all growth enhancement systems do this--I'm able to get Ars Magica and Thaumcraft's growth enhancement systems to work quite well with Harvest Craft. Sorry about your problem, though.

I'll try the Thaumcraft method. The sprinkler seems to work fine for awhile, then something glitches and my client starts crashing right after login. I'll test the Thaumcraft system for awhile and see if that works better.
Someone else mentioned a crash when two growth enhancements were applied at the same time. I wonder if adding bonemeal to the sprinkler is what is causing this one, since the sprinkler itself enhances growth without bonemeal.

Since the problem seems to be happening with different growth enhancement systems, I think the bug lies in Harvestcraft. I think I'll have to pull Harvestcraft from my build, but I hate to do it. It'll change the whole food dynamic of the game.
Mithion, can you for now disable the ice cube structures, or give us a config option to disable them? They need improvement before they should be used, they currently are pretty... rough, to say the least. Here are a few pics of what would feel a lot better in game than the current ice cubes for aquatic based structures.
I just feel spotting something like this, even if it had many fewer chest than what the other one has, would feel much more rewarding, due to not ruining the enviroment it was in (I have seen the cubes form in marshes, and will cut a very deep hole in the stone that looks horrid. And Ice just don't look the right color in a marsh... at all...)
I definitely like your structure suggestions versus the ice mazes.
some thing to note. i don't know if its intentional but using dig in the nether doesn't raise pigmen anger, this allows mining of nether ores and stuff which i like haha. also cause the nether ore not to explode (this is the atomic strkers nether ores).
It's the same for PowerCrystals' version of Nether Ores. The Wand of Excavation in Thaumcraft 3 has the same effect as Dig and Dig II.
I have released a patch which fixes the mana level loss, the incompatibilities with Factorization and Harken Scythe, and the random crashes, the growth spell, towers spawning with bedrock, and the 1 essence bug with items from other mods. I want to thank everyone for being so patient and understanding while I worked at this, as well as all the help with providing proper log files and crash reports. You guys rock.

1. Magic Level UI doesn't work. I level'd up to 4 and it still shows no UI. Then i logged out , restarted the server logged back in and it showed it at lvl 4. I then died and respawned with 0 magic levels and 0/0 magic.
2. I then attempted to use the command to give my account 20 levels of magic and the command worked. But the ui didnt change. It doesnt show that I have any magic what so ever and also the numbers next to my character in the inventory screen still shows 0/0 mana.
Here is the strange thing tho!
When I play single player it all works fine! All the same mods! All the Same configs! All the same JAr mods and Core mods.. But on a server the UI doesnt work!
Other than that I love the mod and hope to use it more on my custom modded server.
Same problem here. UI shows no magic levels, when it did last night. I am still able to cast spells, but have no indication of mana levels. Giving myself levels didn't make a difference. I'll do a bit more experimentation...
This is intentional. Mith set structures to spawn slightly below grade so they have an "abandoned" and "ruined" feeling.
That ends up with some very odd results. I've seen several mage towers/inns that are merged into one another. The loot is still there, if I'm willing to dig for it. It's fairly common to have a tree growing into the middle of buildings.
With that in mind, I can understand the lack of NPCs. If all of these bulidings are supposed to be long-abandoned, they'd be empty.
I had some issues placing the Inscription Table, too. Only, for me, it would disappear and I'd have to make another. I went through that a few times before getting just the right placement. I'll let you know if I can find some more details on that issue.
Ok, maybe this is a stupid question, or someone has already answered this, and if so I'm sorry, but I can't get the MCore.jar to run...
I am currently running the following mods metallurgy, balkon's weapons mod, thaumcraft 3, mo creatures, optifine, forge, GUI Api, and custom mod spawner.. and magic launcher to keep it all straight and to load it. In the end when I have it up and running it says 18 mods loaded, 17 mods active, and when I look under the mods at the very bottom it has Mcore.jar disabled but the ars magica.zip folder is loaded and active. Why is it disabled and any idea how I can fix it? Since I am using magic launcher it is in the same "box" as optifine and forge under setup, and in a core mods folder in .minecraft.... any ideas? Thanks!
As a workaround for Factorization... set darkIron=0 in the factorization.cfg (this conflicts with Iron Shovel, so you can't make or use that, but it lets it load). It could be wonky if you have any dark iron in your inventory (or iron shovels). YMMV, working on my test setup.
Nice workaround It's working in my test setup. I'll make a backup of my live server and try it there.
