So I accidentally acquired the G.E.C.K. and started the american dream quest before even talking to doctor lee. Ah, well, whatever, right? Well, no.
I wanted to finish the previous one for the xp, but of course, all of the dialogue options were gone. So with some fancy console commands I got the science team to finally get to the memorial. THEN Everyone wouldn't go in until I had "cleared the area of mutants". Well, there was nothing inside, so i had to console-ize that too. Got the team inside, everyone except dad that is, and then froze at the omgeez my dad died part. I had to use console commands to get doctor li to follow me from there, but after that everything went well. I got to the citadel, and went throught all the normal talky crap, but then it was time to finish the american dream quest, and for that, I had to talk to Owyn Lyons. But, everytime I went down into the area he was (in front of liberty prime) I lost all control of my character and nothing happened, so I used console commands to finish that quest as well.
Now no commands are able to be used for the "Take it back!" quest, so i cannot start it at all now. I'm really reluctant to start a new character, but Sentenial Lyons, Elder Lyons, and the scribe are all stuck in place, staring at eachother, with the Lyon's pride in the background. They will not move, or speak, not even give generic dialogue. How do I fix this? And also, if I do have to restart, is it possible to get all of my perks, items, skills, and experience back without breaking that save as well? Sorry for the huge block of text guys, and thanks.

Hmm. If it says anything, I still hop into Far Cry 3 from time to time just to walk around and shoot people, but I rarely start up Mass Effect again. Far Cry is easier to hop into, whereas I feel that Mass Effect is kind of a commitment. Hopping out of Mass Effect then coming back a month later would require some re-acclimating.
That said, I still think Mass Effect would probably be a better value. It's a pretty long game, and the story/world will probably be more fulfilling in the long run.

Blood Dragon will probably be just like Far Cry 3, with it's combat being it's strong point. Mass Effect has some terrible combat, but it's world and characters are where it shines.
Hm. Yeah, that's what i was thinking about. Let me break it down this way, I liked battlefield 3 but hated arma, I enjoyed warhammer 40k but not total war. At the moment i'm leaning more toward blood dragon since i do not have any of the far cry games and love testosterone powered shooty fun. but i'm still thinking... I don't care about length really, just the replayability. Like Oblivion, or S.T,A.L.K.E.R. If i restarted either one, it would still be a blast, but restarting hl2 was samey and boring.
I have a little bit of money knocking around, so i saw two games that captured me fancy. Far cry 3 blood dragon and mass effect 1. In your opinion, which one should i buy and why? Please, give educated opinions, not just because you have only played mass effect or whatever. Thanks in advance!

some people, judging from the stuff they post here it seems like all they do in minecraft is try out new mods and textures... meanwhile I jsut play the damn game.
Same. My friend is like "OOOOH TRY BUILDCRAFT" And i say "OOOH TRY PLAYING THE ACTUAL GAME" XD He never plays vanilla survival, always with mods or hacks. I'm slowly weaning him off that, but still. >
