sp614x posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)

    Hello everybody,

This mod adds support for HD textures and a lot of options for better looks and performance.

    Doubling the FPS is common.

You can follow the OptiFine development here: reddit.com/r/OptiFine, [email protected] or http://optifog.blogspot.com.

    Resources: translations, documentation, issue tracker.

Get the Magic Launcher for easy mod installation, compatibility checking and more.

Donate to OptiFine and receive the OptiFine cape as a sign of your awesomeness.

The cape is visible to everyone using OptiFine. Thank you for being awsome.

    Download OptiFine

    Editions

    Even Older Versions

Even older versions of OptiFine are available in the OptiFine history.

If you have previously used MCPatcher for HD Textures, HD Fonts or Better Grass (important)

Follow these steps to prevent a possible "Black Screen" problem when installing OptiFine:

    1. Temporarily revert back to the Default Texture Pack.

    2. Uninstall the HD Textures, HD Fonts, and Better Grass mods from the MCPatcher. These functions are included in OptiFine.

    3. Set Graphics to Fancy

    4. Install OptiFine and test with the Default Texture Pack to make sure everything is working.

    5. Select your previous texture pack and graphics settings

    6. Run Minecraft and enjoy

    Compatibility with other mods

When installing OptiFine together with other mods always make sure to install OptiFine last. The only exception are mods which are designed to be installed after OptiFine and say so in their install instructions.

If you need ModLoader: Install OptiFine AFTER ModLoader.

If you need Forge: Install OptiFine AFTER Forge.

MCPatcher is NOT needed for HD textures, HD fonts and BetterGrass, they are included in OptiFine. Install OptiFine without MCPatcher's HD features for best performance.

If you need DynamicLights (ModLoader edition): Install OptiFine AFTER DynamicLights.

Compatible with: ModLoader, Forge, SinglePlayerCommands, TooManyItems, PlasticCraft, CJB's Modpack, Zan's Minimap, Rei's Minimap, DynamicLights, GLSL Shaders 2, LittleBlocks and many other.

Not compatible with: CCTV, The Aether.

Millénaire 7.0 open beta! Millénaire 7.0 introduces two great new features: a reworked Norman culture and the construction of a massive, end-game marvel: Notre Dame of the New World! Head to the beta page for all the details and the download link.

Millénaire 6.2 for Minecraft 1.12 available!

Millénaire is now officially updated to 1.12.2. Download the new version on www.millenaire.org!

Millénaire is a single- and multi-player mod for Minecraft. It aims to fill the "emptyness" of single-player worlds by adding NPC villages to it, with loose 11th-century Norman, North Indian and Mayans themes and additional cultures planned.

Villages are populated with men, women and children of various kinds, who perform tasks such as trading with the player, expending current buildings or improving existing ones, cultivating crops such as wheat in Norman villages and rice in Indian ones, crafting tools and powerful amulets, etc. As the village expends, the number of villagers increases as couples have children who grow up into new adults.

Help villages grow by trading with them and be rewarded with unique items such as Normand and Indian food or statues and tapestries to decorate your house with. And if they start liking you enough, they might even build you a house of your own.

Millénaire is available in the following languages: French, English, German, Russian, Polish, Spanish, Czech, Swedish, Dutch, Portuguese, Slovenian, Hungarian, Chinese, Arab, Estonian, Norwegian, Ukrainian (more coming!)

    - It is now possible to donate goods to villages for a big reputation boost
    - Added two new advancements, Amateur Architect and Medieval Metropolis
    - The keys for the Millénaire menu, the village list and the escort toggle are now set using the standard Millénaire UI
    - Players' data is now linked to UUID not player name, enabling players to change their player name without losing their Millénaire progress
    - Added two new commands, one to teleport players to a village and one to change a player's reputation with a village
    - Fixed a bug where Millénaire stairs and slabs would have display issues when smooth lighting was off
    - Fixed a bug where paths could be built over mud bricks
    - Fixed a bug where the number of nights spent by a merchant in a village would reset when reloading the world
    - Fixed a bug where sub-buildings would appear on the village map, hiding the main building
    - Fixed a bug where middle-clicking a full path block in creative would give you a path slab
    - Fixed a bug in the handling of Byzantine textures
    - Content Creation improvements:
-- New format for buildings' text data, much easier to read than the old one

    Making new cultures

Since Millénaire 1.4, the bulk of a new culture can be made without code (not just buildings and village types like before, but new NPCs as well). As such I'm interested in player-made cultures to integrate in the main game, provided they fit the general theme of Millénaire of "real" cultures from around the 11th century. Players interested in producing one for Millénaire should PM-me about it. If we agree on the idea, I'll provide support in the form of help on how to mod Millénaire and in the form of whatever new code might be needed (for new items, blocks or good productions), though likely not with the buildings and NPCs themselves. I reserve the right to change anything I might not like in a culture I'm shipping with the mod itself, but in practice I intend to leave as much of a free hand as possible to culture designers.Contribution welcome, it helps make Millénaire a rich game!

See what they are doing and what they need in the villages' centres.

    Help Wanted

    - There is a lot of content to fill up in the Millénaire Wiki, feel free to help: http://millenaire.org/wiki/
    - Female and children sounds
    - It would be very useful if people who have been playing for a while could post detailed accounts of how they play Millénaire, what they like/don't like, what their goals are when playing, etc. I need more comprehensive feedback, not just small reactions to individual features.
    - New lone buildings: the more different kind of lone buildings (or variations of the same kind), the better. People wanting to do lone buildings in the same style as the existing ones are welcomed. You can post your creation in the thread, preferably with a screenshot. I'll add those I think fit in Millénaire.

Trade with them, to help their villages grow and gain unique blocks, foods and items.

...or massive fortresses surrounded by desert.

But be wary in your travels, for hostile bandits and soldiers can be waiting deep in the woods!

Encourage villages to trade with one another, or push them to war and see their men battling while the women and children
    take shelter!

And when the pull of adventure becomes too strong, seek out the mysterious Sadhu in the forest to start a great quest on the origins of the world.

Who knows, you might even come across the mysterious Panthéon, the massive structure where the contributors and donors to Millénaire are immortalised.

Note to modpack makers: Millénaire can be freely added to modpacks provided you credit me and provide a pro-eminent link to millenaire.org.

Note All texture packs for versions 1.5 or higher will not be backwards-compatible unless specified.

Also note: The phrases Texture Pack and Resource Pack are used interchangeably. Prior to 1.5, packs could only modify the game's appearance. Now, they include sound features.

The texture packs list will be updated whenever new

If your texture pack has been Texture packs over 3 versions behind the current Minecraft update will be move to the archive and eventually deleted.

    To-Do
Move 1.4 packs to the archive and delete older ones.

When submitting a texture pack to this list, please follow these simple rules.
    • You must be the original creator of the texture pack, or have explicit permission from the creator, in order to submit it.
    • A texture pack may not be submitted if it contains stolen textures, such as remakes of the Painterly pack (use
    • X-Ray, "wire-frame," etc. texture packs are immediately disqualified.
    • Simple packs are generally not going to be added to the list either, unless they are exceptional or for low-resolution.
    • Images must be hosted on Imgur or similar sites.
    • W.I.P. packs must be at least 60% finished before being submitted, or should at least have a completed terrain.png.
    • If your pack has multiple editions, such as a 16× and 32× version, then your pack will be listed under the lowest resolution available. If you wish, you may specify which resolution you want the pack displayed under instead.
    • To submit a pack, use the following template.
    Submission Template
    • Resource pack name:
    • Author:
    • Resolution(s):
    • Recommended resolution (if applicable) * :
    • Thread link:
    • Minecraft Version:
    • % Complete:
    • Mod Support (None, Basic, Advanced) * :
    • Xbox or Pocket Edition download * :
    • Display picture (320×320 px logo or preview):
    • In-game screenshot:

If your reply does not have all the required attributes, your submission will be ignored. You may omit optional (*) attributes if they do not apply to your pack.
    Install a Resource Pack:
    1. Download a resource pack in a ZIP file format, do not unzip. If you created your own textures, you need to ZIP them. For in-depth instructions on obtaining the files to make your own custom texture pack go to Tutorials/Custom Texture Packs (This is outdated. A simple Google search should suffice instead).
    2. Run Minecraft. Open the Options menu, or if you are in-game, press Escape. In this menu, open up Resource Packs.
    3. Click Open Texture Pack Folder button; this will open the folder where Minecraft stores all texture packs. If nothing happens, you need to find the folder manually. Depending on your operating system it is:
      • Windows: "%AppData%\.minecraft\resourcepacks"
      • Linux: "~/.minecraft/resourcepacks" (This folder may be hidden in the Home Folder)
      • Mac OS X: "~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/resourcepacks" (This folder may be hidden)
    4. Do not close Minecraft. Place the resource pack (ZIP file) in the opened folder, do not unzip.
    5. In a few seconds the texture pack will appear in Minecraft. Select it (may take a few seconds for high-resolution packs), move it to the top of the queue of resource packs if you have others enabled, and click Done. The texture pack is now applied, you may now load your world and see the difference.

(Legacy) How to patch for an HD texture pack:
This is only necessary if you have Minecraft 1.4.2 or older.

In order to use HD texture packs properly (32× and higher) you will need to either patch your Minecraft using MC Patcher or using OptiFine. Optifine is preferred as it includes all of the features of MC Patcher, and greatly increases game speeds and graphics settings. MC Patcher tends to be updated on the same day as Minecraft updates, so use it instead if you are in a hurry.
    1. Download either MC Patcher or OptiFine. If you downloaded OptiFine, skip to step 3.
    2. For MCPatcher: Run the mcpatcher-X.X.X.jar file and proceed to click “patch.”
    3. For Optifine: Install OptiFine like any other mod - By opening minecraft.jar, and placing the .class files from Optifine's zip file within.

How to create a Resource Pack
Full guide in this thread.Texturing tips still apply, however, most textures are now stored differently than they used to be.
To create a custom texture pack, the files you wish to modify must be extracted from minecraft.jar with an archiving or decompression program such as 7-Zip or WinRAR. They can then be edited with any image editing program that can read/write the PNG file format and handle transparency (Adobe Photoshop, Paint.NET, and GIMP 2 are all suitable for this).
Edit each PNG file as desired, and save the PNGs as 32 bit with compression level 9 (if available), to preserve transparency and for optimal size. Then, create a zip file of the files you modified, preserving all folder hierarchy. If you find that nothing changes when you select your texture pack, make sure that the files are in the root of the zip and not one extra folder down.

    Textures are located in /assets/minecraft/textures/.
Sounds and many other aspects can be found in /assets/minecraft/ as well.
The pack.png should be in the root of the zip file.

How to upload a picture to the forums:

How to re-size your image to 320×320 px

    • Make sure your image is uploaded to Imgur.
    • Once uploaded, go to "edit image" on the top right.
    • On the right-hand side the will be a field labeled "image dimensions" - enter 320 for horizontal, and 320 for vertical. If a value automatically changes itself, let it stay that way.
    • Save the change.
    • Once finished, it can be uploaded like any normal image (see above tutorial).

Some texture packs may have the following next to the preview image.

Work in Progress / Incomplete: This pack is under development, or has changed files not including terrain.png.
Basic support: Supports features included in MCPatcher and Optifine only.
Advanced Support: Supports mods that have new content, such as IC2, Buildcraft, or EE3.
Popular Pack: The texture pack has many downloads and/or reputation points.

ZeroLevels posted a message on List of Mods for 1.8.9

    Notice:
The list now has a new home, courtesy of citricsquid. Check it out!

Click here to go to the latest list.
Click here to view the changelog.

Letting us know of new mods for the list:

Know of a mod or many not already on the list? let us know! There are currently 3 ways to get a mod on to the list. Each one will be explained in detail in the following spoilers. Please choose only one method unless the others have failed. I personally prefer the submission for as it's easier on both myself and the end user, but any method is fine!

Before submitting a mod for the list, please note that mods created with "Mod Creator" programs are not allowed on the list. This is because of the sheer number of how many are created, and because those types of programs really should have their own website/list.

Method 1 - Using the submission form
Click here to see the submission form.

This method is very similar to method 2, except somewhat easier since you don't have to set up the questions yourself, and because you can do this anonymously if you prefer.

Simply fill out (hopefully all) the answers on the page, and hit the submit button. I'll receive a notification and will add the mod asap.

Method 2 - Leaving a post in this thread
This method is pretty straight forward. Simply leave a post in this thread detailing a mod that's not on the list.

To make making it easier for us easier for you (what?), we provide (free of charge) a set of questions. Some will have multiple choices from a set of choices. You simply open up the spoiler below, select the entire set, copy it, and paste it into your post. From there, you just fill in the answers to the question in regards to the mod.

All questions starting with an asterisk ( * ) are required. If you do not answer a required question, you may be ignored!

There is a long version and a short version of the Q & A, just be sure to know how to answer them (use long version for referance).

*Q: What Minecraft version are you submitting this for? (Choose all that apply)
    Choices: (a. 1.7.2) (b. 1.7.10) (c. 1.6.4)
    *A:

*Q: What is the name of the mod?

*Q: What is the link (URL) to the mod?
    *A:

    Q: What's name of the mod's author?

Q: Is the mod available on more than just singleplayer? (Choose any that apply)
Choices: (a. Singleplayer (SSP)) (b. Multiplayer (SMP)) (c. Local Multiplayer (LAN)) (d. Same file for both client and server (Universal))
    A:

Q: Does the mod require Forge? If not, is it at least compatible with Forge? (Choose only one)
Choices: (a. Required) (b. Compatible) (c. Not Compatible)
    A:

Q: Could you please provide a concise description of the mod? (Few sentences to a paragraph)
    A:

*What Minecraft version are you submitting this for?:

    Description:

Method 3 - Finding and telling us on IRC
You can find us on IRC on the channel #mcf_modlist at irc.esper.net. However, there are a few things you should be aware of before contacting us there. If you've never used IRC before, then you can simply go to the channel via webchat here.

First and foremost, you must get our attention by PINGing us. Pinging means simply to say the full name of. So, if you do use the IRC, you may ping ZeroLevels or ImperialFeline. On the other hand, please DO NOT ping citricsquid. He's got other things to do, and doesn't actually work on the mod list.

Sometimes though, we'll be asleep or otherwise offline. That's right! We do occasionally sleep! If this is the case, then pinging us is pointless. Don't fear though, for you can use the bot Cadbury to leave ZeroLevels a message. To do this, you need to use the tell command. To use it, you use a dollar sign followed by the word "tell", then the person you want to leave the message for, and then your message.

Here's a quick example on the usage:
$tell ZeroLevels Hey, would you please add my mod to the list? It's called ModName and the link is this.is.a/link. Thanks in advance!

Make sure to send it to regular ZeroLevels because sending it to his sleeping (ZeroLevels|Zzz), busy (ZeroLevels|Busy), away (ZeroLevels|Away) versions of the name won't work. ZeroLevels only checks tells sent to the standard version of the name.

    Banners:
Banners made to support the mod list. If you enjoy the mod list enough, please go ahead and take a copy of the code and paste it into your signature on the Minecraft Forums or wherever else supports BBCode.

Also, any support for the list by mod authors is welcome, even if it's only a text link.

Looking for mods? Check out the

NOTE: In order for the code to paste correctly, you must paste it as plain text (Right-click, choose "paste as plain text" - or - If on the MCF, choose the middle clipboard icon on the text editor).

You can still find the older list in the posts below if you prefer. Though, it won't be up to date.

    Minecraft ControlPack v6.0
    IMPORTANT
I, InfinitiesLoop, have stopped maintaining this mod due to lack of time. HOWEVER, Julialy is taking it over and has ported it for MC 1.7.10. Julialy will be your mod owner from now on. Julialy has done a great job in taking it over, and I have confidence this mod will have a bright future!
Currently, Minecraft Forums cannot transfer thread ownership. In the meantime, please direct yourself to this link instead of reading this OP:

Thread for ControlPack for 1.7.10 or Later

The following is the post as I originally wrote it while I maintained it. I'm leaving it here for now -- there more details here than in the new post currently, although not all of the features are necessarily the same in the new version. This will all get sorted out eventually :)

This is a Minecraft client mod that requires nothing from the server. That means you can use it for SMP and Single Player!

    For Suggestions & Feedback
Feel free to post in this thread about your thoughts and ideas, but please at least read the last few replies to make sure you aren't spamming everyone. Also, do visit the uservoice site for the mod to enter your ideas and upvote other ideas! If you do that, please also reply to this thread. The uservoice site is not meant to replace the great discussion that goes on here, just organize it.
    http://mccontrolpack.uservoice.com

I do this in my limited spare time! Any support is greatly appreciated and will certainly translate into increased development.

    Introducing ControlPack

    Great Mod Spotlight by RedstoneNightmare

    Compatibility With Other Mods
MUST READ IF YOU HAVE OTHER MODS
    AudioMod
...Or other mods that modify the sound manager base class. ControlPack *IS* compatible with these mods, BUT you must omit this base class from the installation, and you will lose the SFX volume control feature in ControlPack:
    blk.class

    Optifine
The Look Behind feature in ControlPack 5.9+ will crash if you have Optifine. I'm working on a solution. In the meantime, if you have Optifine please just disable the lookbehind feature.

    FORGE
ControlPack is compatible, but it is NOT a Forge mod. To install ControlPack into Forge YOU MUST FOLLOW THE FORGE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS IN THE INSTALLATION SECTION.

    IMPROVED CHAT
atp.class conflicts with Improved Chat. You MUST install the Control Pack version of this file. It contains special code to make sure Improved Chat works even though you will be overwriting its version of the file. The simpliest way to ensure you do it right is to install or reinstall Control Pack AFTER installing Improved Chat.

    Other mods:

If another mod also requires changes to minecraft.jar, there is a conflict if it needs to modify any of the same class files that ControlPack modifies. ControlPack has been written so that you can leave off any conflicting class files and the mod will still work, but you'll lose the corresponding feature. Here is a list of the files ControlPack modifies and what they are used for.

    avt.class
    OPTIONAL!
    Known Conflict: GUIAPI
This just adds the ControlPack button to the options GUI. You can use ALT+C to open it instead.

    axp.class
    OPTIONAL!
    Enables Smart Furnace functionality.

    blk.class
    OPTIONAL!
Provides the sound effect volume feature.

    atp.class
    REQUIRED!!
    General plumbing for ControlPack.
IF YOU OVERWRITE THIS FILE WITH ANOTHER MOD THAT CONTAINS IT, MINECRAFT WILL CRASH

    Installation Instructions
    FORGE
    • Run the new launcher at least once with MC 1.6.2 version. Just to set up a clean 1.6.2 version in your .minecraft
    • Download and run the latest 'installer' version of forge 9.10.xxxxx
    • Select 'new profile' from launcher and find the 'release-1.6.2Forge9.10xxx' in the versions and select it, give it a name, and save.
    • Run this newly named forged version once and make sure forge is there and working. Then just quit game.
    • Locate your .minecraft folder and open it. Then open the 'versions' folder and select folder '1.6.2Forge9.10.xxxxx' and open this.
    • Open the executable jar file using 7zip or winrar and delete the 'meta-inf'
    • Open and extract all files from control pack's zip file and drag/copy them directly into the jar. And close.
    • *****IMPORTANT***** Before launching the game you must select 'edit profile' then check the 'JVM Argument box' and type in this line:
    • -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true

    • Save profile and RUN THE GAME.

    Magic Launcher
Magic Launcher and ControlPack do not work together. I haven't been able to figure out why, just that Magic Launcher is not installing ControlPack correctly for some reason. I will update the thread if this changes. In the meantime, you will have to install ControlPack directly into the JAR file.

Vanilla Minecraft / No ModLoader or other special frameworks
Basicaly, install ModLoader, and then install ControlPacks class files the same way you installed ModLoader.

    Minecraft Controls added:
    • Auto Tool Selection
    • Auto Sword Selection
    • Auto Block Selection

    Control Pack Options Screens
You can turn all the features on and off.
You can customize all the new key bindings (or even map them to a mouse button). Right click to disable one.
You can control the volume level of individual sound effects (plus more in 5.4)

    FEATURE BY FEATURE

    Auto Tool Selection
You'll wonder how you ever played Minecraft before this. With Auto Tool, just left click a block. ControlPack will automatically select the best tool for the job from your toolbar! If the item you are mining does not require a tool (like a torch), it will switch to your hand (or to a regular item if you don't have any open slots).

You can customize how the tool selection works by putting it into one of these modes, right from the included UI:

Weakest Tool (this is default value)
Select the weakest tool you have that will do the job. For example: You have a wood pick and a stone pick, it will normally select the wood pick while mining stone. If you find Iron Ore, which requires at least a Stone pick, it will use the stone pick.

    Strongest Tool
Always pick the fastest tool for the job, even if you have lesser tools that would work.

    Leftmost
No magic, just pick the first tool on the toolbar that is appropriate for the block.

    Rightmost
No magic, just pick the last tool on the toolbar that is appropriate for the block.

    Quick Toggle
Of course, there may be times you want to use a particular tool. You can very easily turn auto tool on and off by hitting ALT+T.

    Quick Toggle Mode
You can also quickly cycle through the possible modes using ALT+R.

    While auto mining
This works even while using the toggle-mining feature. That means you can turn on toggle mining, and sit back as you automatically switch between picks and shovels as you run into dirt or gravel patches.

    Breaking Tools
And, after a tool breaks, since you won't be holding a tool anymore, auto tool will automatically switch to a new tool.

    Auto Sword Selection
Left click a mob, and it'll select your sword automatically! Don't have one? It will also make sure you don't have a tool selected so you don't waste a use.

You can quickly enable and disable Auto Sword with ALT+S.

If you have a mod that provides weapons other than a sword you want to auto select, you can customize which items ControlPack thinks are swords in the options screen. Just provide a comma-delimited list of the item IDs.

    Auto Block Selection
What happens if you right click while holding a tool, like a pick axe? Nothing! Until now. Auto Block is like the opposite of Auto Tool. When you right click while holding a tool, ControlPack automatically switches to a placeable block or item in your toolbar, and places it!

You can customize how it decides which block to place by putting it into one of these mods, right from the included UI:

    Leftmost (the default)
Uses the first placeable block or item that is on your toolbar.

    Rightmost
Uses the last placable block or item that is on your toolbar.

    Slot #
You can set it to a specific slot number (1 through 9). Then it will place whatever block is in that slot, if any.

    Quick Toggle
You can quickly enable and disable Auto Block with ALT+B.

    Example
Remember it applies to any placeable item or block, even torches. So picture this: In the first 3 slots of your inventory you have a pick, a shovel, and torches. You mine away, and Auto Tool is switching between the pick and shovel for you. Now and then, you want to place a torch. All you do is right click, and BAM, a torch is placed, then you just continue left-click mining! Can it get ANY easier? Well, there's also the 'Place Torch' key :)

With Control Pack, you'll almost never have to worry about switching between inventory items!

    Hold to Attack
When this option is enabled (it is off by default), holding down the attack button will repeatedly attack mobs instead of forcing you to click over and over again. This also applies to the Toggle Mining command. When toggle mining is ON, and this option is ON, you will also auto attack any mobs you look at.

    Stack Preservation
If you place the last item in a stack, and you have another stack on your toolbar, it will automatically switch to that item, so you can continue placing the block or item without having to switch to the new slot! This feature is enabled/disabled along with Auto Block.

    Place Torch
Now you have a keyboard or mouse key that will always place a torch as long as you have one on your toolbar. And it switches back to what you had before right away.

If you don't have any torches, it will also place a Redstone Torch.

    Eat Food
Hungry? Just press and hold the 'Eat Food' button. You'll automatically start eating whatever the first food item is on your toolbar. Release the button and you'll stop eating and automatically swap back to the previous item you were holding.

    Tap to Sprint
Notch added sprinting, which is nice and all, but it's rather clumsy having to double tap the forward button to do it. ControlPack adds a key you can tap (default is F) while holding forward to begin sprinting. Ahhh, much easier.

    Automatic Window Restoration
ControlPack remembers the size and position of your Minecraft window and automatically restores it when the game launches (after you log into minecraft.net in the launcher). It will not only remember the size and position, but also the fullscreen status of the window.

    Better 3rd Person View
Minecraft has three camera modes. The normal view, and two 3rd person views. The two 3rd person views let you view your character from the front or the back. But, the problem with these views is that you are ALWAYS either directly in front of or behind your head, and movement of the camera is locked to the movement of your head.

ControlPack adds another 3rd person view that separates camera control from head movement. This allows you, for example, to view your character from the side, from above, or from below. You can see yourself turn 360 degrees around as the camera stays in the same position.

You can rotate the camera up/down and left/right by holding down the middle mouse button and moving the camera freely. You can also do it with the keyboard by holding down CONTROL and then using your usual directional keys. For example, CTRL+LEFT will rotate the camera to the left.

Just keep tapping F5 to toggle through all the views as usual.

    Look at the pretty clouds...

    Swap Left and Swap Right
These are 'press and hold' commands meant to let you use a tool temporarily.

Perhaps you are working on a building that needs mostly stone but with some glass every now and then. Well, swap to the glass temporarily when you need it. Easy!

Another great use -- if you're mob hunting, keep some pork or whatever to the left and right of your sword. Healing up in mid-battle is much easier!

    Toggle Sneak
Building something at high altitudes? Holding down shift when you're doing dangerous work can be tiring and error-prone. Now you can toggle sneak and rest assured you won't fall down.

Also -- did you know that sneaking while on a ladder will let you stick to the ladder? Holding down sneak to do that is great, but you can't do anything else without falling down. You can't chat, get up to go to the bathroom, or eat Cheez-Its®! Toggle sneak and you're good to go.

    Auto Jump
For swimming, of course! Now you can actually chat without drowning! Also great if you use it in combination with Auto-Run so you can skip over small hills automatically, or swim across an ocean while taking a micro break. Stretch those muscles now and then.

    Auto Run
For long distances, it makes things easier. Yes, you will have to jump a lot along the way, but hey, there's auto JUMP too! And if you combine this with Auto Jump while in the water, well, now you can swim across the ocean and chat while you're doing it.

NEW IN 5.5: If you want to auto run BACKWARDS, just use auto run while walking backward. It will continue to run backwards.

    Toggle Mining
Holding down the mouse button for long mining sessions can get tiring. Auto-mine to the rescue! Just tap it, and you'll be swinging like there's no tomorrow (What if there is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today!). Auto tool will even take care of making sure you use the correct tool along the way.

If you're especially lazy, also turn on auto-run, look just a tad bit down from the center, and you'll not only auto-mine, you'll blaze a path while doing it! Afraid you might fall into a cavern? No problem, turn on toggle sneak too!

This can marathon mining sessions so much more enjoyable.

TIP: You can set your middle mouse button (the 'wheel click') to toggle mining.

    Toggle Use Item
This is your right-click toggle. If you are building a lot, this might come in handy. Note that autoblock's "exhasted" feature will still kick in here. So if you're auto placing a block and your current stack runs out, it will automatically switch to a fresh stack if you have one and continue placing them.

This is great for eating a lot of melon slices when your hunger bar is nearly empty. Just tap it, and then grab a quick bite to eat yourself :)

    Run Distance
Stop staring at the ground counting blocks or using F3! Just enter how many blocks you want to go, and you're off. It automatically stops after you've traveled that many blocks in any direction. Don't worry about things in your way, walk around them, jump over them, or whatever you have to do, it will still stop on the right spot, even if you have to back track or take turns.

It will stop when you are that many blocks away from where you started, in a straight line. So if you put "10" for example, imagine there is a box around your starting point that goes 10 blocks in each N, E, W, S direction. Your character will stop walking when they hit the wall of that box, at whatever point it is.

    Smart Furnace Drops
You'll wonder how you ever lived without this time-saver. When in the furnace UI, you can shift-click items in your inventory to add them automatically to the furnace. Shift-click the items in the furnace and they'll return to your inventory. But there's more to it than that.

ControlPack will figure out the best thing to do with the item:
x If it is a smeltable item, it puts it in the furnace queue or adds it to the existing queue.
x If it is a furnace fuel (coal, etc), it puts it in the fuel slot, or adds it to the existing fuel.
x When placing fuel, it knows how much is necessary to smelt all the items and only adds that many.
x When placing fuel, if there is already some fuel, it adds only enough to it to be able to smelt all the items.
x You can do all of this while already holding a completely different item.

What does this mean exactly? Say you have an empty furnace, 64 sand, and 64 coal. Normally, to smelt them you would have to perform a ton of mouse operations, dragging things around, right clicking a bunch of times, etc etc. It's kind of a pain.

Here's how you do it with ControlPack!
    1. Shift-click the sand.
    2. Shift-click the coal.
    3. When it's done smelting, shift-click the glass. DONE!

    Look Behind
You're down to 1 heart, and a Creeper starts charging you! What do you do? RUN!!! How do you know if the creeper is still following you? Stop and turn around? But then you risk him catching up with you!

Look behind makes your middle-mouse button to do something incredibly useful. It causes your character to turn their head 180 degrees to look behind you, while you are still running! Just hold it down to look behind you, then release to look forward again.

Don't have a middle mouse button? You can reconfigure it to any mouse or keyboard key. You can also hold down the BACK button (that is, whatever key you have mapped to be your 'move backwards' button) while holding down the forward button -- thereby pressing forward and back at the same time.

Looking behind you -- notice there's no hand or tool, and the scene is tilted a little

    Toggle Full Brightness
When you use this command, your Minecraft brightness setting is set to MAX. Use the command again to automatically restore the brightness to your previous value. This is a great way of keeping the nice Moody brightness setting that Minecraft looks great in, but then easily turning it up when you're in a dark cave, so you can see without even having any torches. You get the best of both worlds!

    Moody Brightness Level

    Full Brightness Level

    Sound Effect Volume
Rain is awfully loud in Minecraft. So are pistons. And everytime you splash into some water, that splashing sound can be kind of jarring. Now you can control the volume of these sound effects, and more, independently of your main volume! You might enjoy hearing the subtle sound of rain. You can even make sounds LOUDER* than normal if you want to. Make explosions LOUDER!

    * Some sounds won't get louder than they would be when your Minecraft sound setting is set to 100%. To get them louder than other sounds, lower your Minecraft volume setting but increase your system volume to compensate.
    * NEW IN 5.4: Now you can control the volume of animals, slimes, and the step and dig sounds.

    Coordinates Overlay
You can display your X, Y and Z coordinates constantly so you always have an idea of where you are. Consider it a very lightweight and simple minimap. You can decided which corner of the screen to show them in: top left, top right, bottom left, or bottom right. Or you can turn them off, of course.

Note that the coordinates display in X, Z, and Y order. Y is your vertical position.

    Waypoints
You can save up to 10 waypoints -- 5 in the Nether and 5 in the normal world. Each waypoint can optionally be displayed on your HUD, and it will show the coordinates along with an arrow that will always point in its direction. You can also provide each waypoint a name if you want. It's a dead simple way of keeping track of your favorite spots.

NEW IN 5.1: You can customize the display of the coordinates, so you can decide what order X, Y and Z are in, etc.

    Say your location
Ever want to tell someone what your coordinates are, but it's almost impossible to chat and look at the F3 screen at the same time? Forget that. Just type the Say Your Locatin key (INSERT by default) while chatting, and your position will be inserted automatically for you.

NEW IN 5.1: You can customize the display of the coordinates, so you can decide what order X, Y and Z are in, etc.

    Auto Corpse Waypoint
OH NOES! You were deep inside a cave... and YOU DIED, dropping all your diamonds!!

Now with ControlPack you'll find your stuff easily. A waypoint is automatically set to the location of your untimely death.

    Tool Uses Counter
While holding a tool, the number of uses remaining will display where you configure it. Now you always know exactly what to expect.

    Arrows Remaining Counter
While holding a bow, you'll see the total number of arrows you have in your inventory! Goes down fast, doesn't it?

    Beta Info / Download:

The MyCraft+ beta does not include all the features that will be available in the full release. More info about the planned features is available on the download page. You can also check out our blog for status updates on development.
If you'd like to try out the MyCraft+ beta then you can download it here:

    Download and Info: http://www.frustra.org/mycraft-plus

If you have any problems at all with it, please contact us on the IRC or on our forums, this way we can fix as many bugs as possible before the full release.

The current beta has drag-and-drop mod installation, so you should be able to just download any mod, and drop the zip in the mods folder. The next time you run the beta, it should load automatically.

    Original MyCraft:

    Description:
MyCraft is a mod manager with some very useful features. Up until now, Minecraft modding has been a bit of a repetitive process. The modder must constantly update their mods, and the users must re-download the mods each time. This mod manager solves these problems.

If you would like to develop for MyCraft, you can download the example mod here: http://www.frustra.o...les/TestMod.zip
This mod includes the Blood Pickaxe (breaks blocks instantly), blue torches (retextured) and some simple recipes.

    Features:
    • No install or jar modification!
    • Organized and easy mod installation
    • Auto-updating client, no updating needed!
    • Automatic hooking, no need to find which class is which!
    • Refactored API, no more classes like aq, ie, and eu!
    • No mod conflicts! (For MyCraft specific mods only)
    • Custom mod menu for turning mods on and off!
    • Built-in mods for turning off particle effects for slow computers.
    • Built-in flying mod!
    • Built-in proxy option for playing at school or work! (Note, basically what this does is redirect all requests that were supposed to go to minecraft.net to our server, it does NOT proxy the connection to any game servers that you want to play on, so there's no extra lag)
    Fly Mod Info:
    Turn On/Off: V
Move around: Same as walking controls
    Up: Jump
    Down: Sneak
2D Mode: Can only fly up or down with Jump or Sneak
3D Mode: Can fly up or down by looking up or down

    Installation Tutorial!

    Javadocs: http://www.frustra.o...vadocs/mycraft/

    Download and Instructions:
MyCraft is very easy to get working.
You can download everything you need here as well as read our development blog and see screenshots:
    http://www.frustra.org/mycraft
Once you've downloaded it, run MyCraft.exe by double clicking on it (or run MyCraft.jar for linux/mac).
MyCraft auto updates, so you will always have the latest version!

    Statistics:

(Updated every half hour, 4 days shown)

    Proxy Info:
In order to get to the mods menu to turn on the proxy, you need to be able to log in.
The problem with this, is you may not be able to do this without the proxy =)
To turn on the proxy outside of the game, go to .minecraft/bin/mycraft/ and open settings.txt
In there you will find the proxify setting. You can turn the ON of OFF yourself.

    Proxy Privacy Policy:
What the proxy does is send your information, that would normally go to minecraft.net, to our server. Our server then sends it to minecraft.net, and responds with the authentication. We do not monitor the information that goes through our proxy. If you do not trust us or our service, you have the option of not using the proxy (it is off by default), By doing so you will be connected directly to minecraft.net when you play.
We have purchased Minecraft ourselves, so we have no need for extra accounts, and will never look at/distribute the information going through our proxy.

    Troubleshooting:

Problem: When I try and run MyCraft.jar, nothing happens!
Solution: For windows, try running MyCraft.exe first, otherwise try right clicking on the jar and doing Open With -> Java, if this doesn't work you can try running with console.
To run with console, the easiest way is to download this (Windows only):
    http://www.frustra.org/myc/runget.php
Place it in the same folder as MyCraft.jar
Run it by double clicking on it.
If it works, then you can download this one:
    http://www.frustra.o...runget.php?perm
It will run MyCraft without the black window.

If it doesn't work, paste what it says in the black window here.
(Right click and do Mark to select, and hit enter to copy)

Problem: I want to change my launching options / ram usage!
Solution: If you are using MyCraft Launcher 5.0+ then all you have to do is edit the Launch Options.txt file and MyCraft will automatically load with these options.

Problem: My HD texture packs make the game freeze!
Solution: Not all HD texture fixes work with MyCraft, you may want to try this one:
    http://www.minecraft...f=1021&t=252531

Problem: I get bad video drivers when I try to run MyCraft!
Solution: First, make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.
If you still get this error after updating, make sure you have MyCraft Launcher 3.1 or above.
Just rename MyCraft.jar to MyCraft-c.jar and it will run in compatibility mode!
Make sure you are running the jar, not the exe for this.

Problem: My game freezes when I start singleplayer or login!
Solution: Make sure all your mods are up to date. If you still get the freeze with NO mods installed, you can
post your log file here, or talk to us on the IRC. You may also try re-downloading your minecraft.jar by removing your version file in .minecraft

Problem: I want to disable one of my mods, but I am too lazy to move it out of the folder!
Solution: You're in luck! All you need to do is rename the folder for that mod so there is a # in front of it and it will be ignored by MyCraft when loading mods.

Problem: I have two mods that conflict with each other and they say to install one after the other, what do I do?
Solution: If a mod says to install one after the other, install them to the same folder in MyCraft in the order
    specified and it will work.

Risugami posted a message on Risugami's Mods - Updated.
Everything updated for 1.6.2. The mods directory will now be located in the same directory as minecraft jar, unless the default game directory is changed, where it will act like it had on older versions.

Read this entire post. All of it. Downloading the mods means you agree to the disclaimer. You can skip the FAQ, but if you have an issue, consult it first, before consulting us. If you have an issue answered in the FAQ or this post itself, we won't help you. At all. We reserve the right to ignore dumbasses who do not pay attention to the big bold text. Completely and utterly, ignore them. To all of you who are good boys and girls, I suggest you ignore them too, should they post.

Modding now has its own IRC channel on esper.net, #risucraft.

Disclaimer: These mods require altering minecraft.jar, and SMP may not work with these mods installed. Some of these mods add new content, do not load worlds with this new content if the respective mod is not installed. I am not responsible for any damage done to your computer, worlds, or your copy of Minecraft. That said, backup your worlds and bin folder!

    Frequently Asked Questions
    Q: What is ModLoader?
    -A: http://tiny.cc/PAIN

    Q: Where is ModLoader?
    -A: http://tiny.cc/PAIN

Q: How do I install ModLoader?
    -A: http://tiny.cc/PAIN

Q: Why did you link me that image?
-A: Because you can't read. What part of "read this whole post" did you not understand?

Q: Why does my game freeze on the loading screen?
-A: The most likely answer is you forgot to delete META-INF, or your archive tool didn't want to delete it.

Q: Why does my game black screen?
-A: There are a number of reasons this could happen, the most likely is that you're trying to play alpha through the browser. Mods don't work with the browser version. I do not care about black screens. Get me the error log. Follow the instructions under the "Linux / Other" download on www.minecraft.net. This applies to all OS.

Q: Do these mods work with [older version]?
-A: No, they are designed for Minecraft 1.6.2.

Q: The AudioMod description hurt my head, is there some kind of readme that explains it in better detail?
-A: Not yet, so, in the meantime, feel free to contact me about it in IRC, and I will help.

Q: How come 7z throws out "Not implemented" OR WinRAR gives me an error when I try to add stuff to the jar?
-A: Update 7-Zip or close Minecraft.

Q: How do I uninstall the mods?
-A: You restore from a backup of minecraft.jar, and in case you didn't back it up, delete the version file in the bin folder, and Minecraft will redownload everything.

Q: What does input == null mean?
-A: You failed to read instructions, try again...

    Q: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ...?
-A: You failed to read instructions, try again...

    Q: java.lang.SecurityException: SHA1 digest error ...?
-A: You failed to read instructions, try again...

    Q: java.util.zip.ZipException: invalid entry size?
-A: Stop using that bad program and get a real one! Like 7-Zip or WinRAR!

Q: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file?
-A: Update java. On mac? Too bad.

    Q: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: ______ : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0
-A: Either get JRE 7 or tell mod creator to not use JDK 7.

Q: How can I best contact you?
-A: In the channel #risucraft, on the esper.net IRC.

Q: What if this FAQ doesn't solve my problem or answer my question?
-A: Then you can post, or contact us, preferably on IRC.

    ModLoader 1.6.2
A mod, kind of like a mod manager, that stops conflicts with mods that alter rendering, recipes, add entities, gui, smeltables or fuel. If you're a modder, feel free to decompile this and learn how to make mods work with it. Inherit BaseMod and override any methods as necessary. The mod's main class file should be prefixed with 'mod_'. Read the Javadoc for information on methods available.

    Elemental Arrows 1.6.2
The Elemental Arrows mod adds four new types of arrows; explosive arrows, fire arrows, ice arrows, and a joke weapon, egg arrows.. They are crafted the same way as normal arrows, but the head is replaced based on the element; gunpowder for explosive, coal for fire, snowball for ice, and egg for, well, egg. Crafting an explosive arrow only gives you one arrow, and it explodes upon impact. Crafting a fire arrow gives you one arrow, that will ignite stuff upon impact. Crafting an ice arrow gives you one arrow, that will freeze water into ice, lava springs into obsidian, put out fire, and break torches. Egg arrows spawn chickens upon impact with the ground, but there's a secret too. Lightning arrows strike lightning where ever they hit, use diamond in recipe. Homing bow recipe is same layout as regular bow, but diamond instead of sticks. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

    More Stackables 1.6.2
This mod makes saddles, doors, and signs up to 8 in a stack, minecarts and boats up to 4 in a stack. This is great for storage and for using workbenches, chests, or furnaces, as you no longer consume your food! Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

    Sign Tags 1.6.2
Type [time] into a sign, and it will show the current time. You can also type [x], [y], or [z] and find the current position of the sign in regards to that axis. [a|b] is a redstone input function for signs, where text replacing 'a' will be shown when the sign is powered, otherwise 'b' is shown. Type [light], and it will show you the current light level of the sign's position. [biome], [temp], [humid] each tell you the biome you're in, the temperature of that area, and the humidity of that area, respectively. [temp], [humid] will no longer function in Nether.

    Death Chest 1.6.2
When you die, if you have a chest in your inventory, it will be placed where you die, or in the closest available spot. The chest will be filled with as many items as possible. Items stored in the crafting slot are still lost, as usual, and any excess that won't fit in the chest will be dropped.

    AudioMod 1.6.2(Not updated for now)
AudioMod is an upgrade of sorts, and a modder's utility. Included in this mod is CodecIBXM, created by Paul at www.paulscode.com, who is the creator of the sound system used in Minecraft. It allows Minecraft to play (in addition to ogg, wav, and mus files), xm, s3m, and mod files. The only readily available feature of this mod is the ability to add new music, however, it adds support for modders to add new records and sound effects. There is a slight increase in load time when using this mod. Using this, you can also use custom sounds, alongside the originals. Custom music and sound goes into the resources folder, music in mod/music. Custom sounds go into mod/sound. For example, if I were to add a new footstep sound effect to stone, I'd put the new stone1.ogg in mod/sound/step. In game, the new sound would occasionally be played, alongside the originals. Custom sounds for things like the menu click and water do not always work, at the moment.

    Floodgate 1.6.2
Floodgate block can be used as either a floodgate, allowing toggleable water and lava falls, or as a trapdoor. When you place the floodgate control block, it will place a gate in front of the control block in the direction you are facing. Applying redstone power to this will remove the gate. Use the control block to open the GUI where you can place supporting blocks that will replace how the gate looks. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.
    The recipe:
    :stone: :stone: :stone:
    :stone: :Red: :stone:
    :stone: :stone: :stone:
    Where :Red: is redstone.

    Spawner GUI 1.6.2
Adds a GUI to all mob spawners, that will allow you to pick what mob to spawn. I also reallowed mining spawners. You can disable spawners with redstone aswell. Should be compatible with all mobs, but don't expect the mobs with special spawn conditions to work everywhere. Animals require grass, Monsters require darkness, Slimes require being in their special chunks, and 0-16 depth. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

    Block Distortion 1.6.2
This mod is just an experiment. Everything that is 3D (Mostly noticeable on blocks) has a random distortion. Known issues include: Clouds randomize as they move across the sky, held items look rather odd, and GUI elements may be screwed up. I don't recommend using this mod long.

    Griefer Creepers 1.6.2
WARNING BACK UP YOUR WORLD BEFORE INSTALLING
This mod changes how creepers attack. Instead of blowing itself up, It will disappear and launcher 100 arrows straight into the air, which will rain down on the landscape. These arrows will be 25% fire arrows, 75% explosive arrows..

    Biosphere 1.6.2
This is a new generator. You may select this generator in More World Options when creating world. In this generator, the world is made up of massive spheres with glass domes. Inside these spheres are random biomes. There is a random chance of a lake being placed in the center of each sphere. Usually water, but rarely lava. Bordering this lake you will find sand for water, or gravel for lava. Connecting each sphere is a wooden bridge with fence rail. Beside each sphere is a smaller sphere, which is where you will find diamond and lapis lazuli. These ores only occur here, the others are equally spread throughout the spheres. The cave generator used here is a modified Nether cave generator, where like on the surface, will generate lava below a certain level. if this lava reaches the outside, an obsidian wall will be made to hold it in. Many options can be changed in ".minecraft/config/Biosphere.cfg". Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.

    Armor Stand 1.6.2
This block will give you a place to show off your armor. Just place the block and right click on the platform. You can choose from a selection of skins to hold your armor, as well as have it stare at you, constantly. You may also change the texture of platform by putting block in the last slot. Known issues include: placing a block inside of dummy, standing on its head, possible inability for mobs to path around it. Recipe is 3 solid stone blocks along bottom, with 2 sticks in the middle. Requires ModLoader 1.6.2.
