The sad thing is is that my dad would spend that much money when really we have a <$60000 yearly income. He wants to use the monitor for his Photoshop tools and such.
Well, my dad got the 5K iMac maxed out (almost $4500), and it using it with the 1600p monitor. I don't really care, I'll just get my own monitor. But there is a problem. The monitor can only go up to 1280x800. Everything is huge on the monitor. When my dad went to the Apple store to ask about it, they weren't what the problem was. They guessed it was the graphics card. So, what is the maximum the R9 M295X can put out? We have a feeling the graphics card is the problem, but we aren't sure.
16 ms response is pretty much the worst response possible for a 60Hz monitor. The frame time of 60Hz is 16.666...ms, so there's no way it can be slower.
I honestly don't think response time is that bad. I've used Cinema displays before, and movement was quite crisp on all of them. Maybe Apple somehow believes that frame time is response time?
My dad has had this monitor for like at least 6 years, maybe 8. It came out in 2004, so it's pretty old. I have only played MC on it, but I've never noticed any motion blur or anything. How do you think performance would be with a 970 on most games like BF4 and modded Skyrim with with at least high settings.
The monitor should be fine because you can downscale the games to 1080p so you'll still be able to play fine.
You may get a small black bar depending on the aspect ratio of the monitor.
The response time is pretty bad, but then again a normal TV's is worse.
I don't want to downscale because then some stuff would look blurry. It's 16:10, so most games should support it, and on videos the black bar wouldn't bother me much. I guess my main concern is the response time.
Last time I checked most Tvs are 16 ms

I can't/won't sell it because it was my dad's and if he wanted to sell it, he would. I think he is mainly giving it to me just so I don't have to wait longer to get my PC by having to save more money for the monitor. I will probably replace it later on once I can get a better monitor. I also I'm not liking all the benchmarks for some games at even 1440p.
My dad has a 30" 1600p Apple Cinema Display from a long time ago that he is planning on not using once he get's the new Retina iMac (I tried to persuade him to do something cheaper but he refused). He may give it to me when I build my PC. Right now I'm planning for a GTX 970, but I couldn't find any benchmarks on games at this resolution. I was going to get a 1080p monitor, but if he gives me his monitor, that would take a couple hundred dollars off of what I was thinking I would need to pay. I was planning on playing some pretty graphical games, such as BF4, Modded Skyrim, etc. I don't know the response time on it, either. I may just use the monitor for gaming temporarily while I wait until I can get a smaller 1080p monitor, but I may also get a second 970 down the line to be able to game at 1600p. So how well does a single 970 do at 1600p in pretty graphical games?

I am going be working on a project soon and need a simple video editor that has very little to no learning needed. I just need to be able to trim videos and put videos together. What is the most simple one you could recommend? I will be taking the videos on my phone and using onedrive to transfer it to my laptop.
I really like all the stuff that Apple is doing through continuity with iDevices and Macs, but for those who don't use Macs, this would be useless. Apple has better App Selection and a lot of apps come out first on iOS. Apple also has a much better Music selection and I would say iTunes is better to buy into than Play Music. Other than those few things, Android dominates, IMO. You have more choice on how much you want to spend, what size you want, how you want your software to look, etc, etc. Also Android phone of a similar price as the iPhone tend to have better specs. 1GB of RAM on the new iPhones is unacceptable.
I don't watch either and don't plan to watch either. They annoy the crap out of me. Some of my friends (like 2 years younger than me) are obsessed with Sky and I hate it when they say budder relentlessly.
I mainly listen to mainstream music because thats what I heard on the radio, movies, etc. I don't know much indie. I don't have anything against indies. Music is music. If its good, I'll listen to it.
I would definitely wait for the new Nexus Tablet. That is supposed to have the 64 bit version of the Tegra K1 (Shield Tablet has 32 bit version) and 4GB RAM. I don't know rumored price, though, and it could be higher than your budget.
In 1.7.10, I can easily get 100+ FPS, and in 14w28, I could only get <30. This snapshot helped... I now struggle to get 40 FPS. Fix the damn game, nothing you have done in the last two snapshots has done a thing except tear down FPS. Heck, every snapshot for 1.8 so far has had horrible FPS.

Why are everyone asking for the plugin API all the time? It's not just like Dinnerbone or Jeb sits down and says
"Well today I am going to make the plugin API from scratch... I'll be done in half an hour!"
Firstly, they need to MAKE the API from nothing but the ever-changing game code. They probably underestimated the task quite a bit, since it's so long since they said they would make it.
They need to remove all the hardcoded stuff from the game, so it actually can work, and as good as possible... And what has nearly all snapshots included? Cleaning up in code, removing hardcoded stuff, changing to use BlockState instead of Block+Data, and stuff like that. That's also why the snapshots are so unstable.
I do not think that they have forgotten the API at all. Keep up the hope!
The reason we are constantly asking for it is because it was promised for 1.5... then 1.6... then 1.7...
I'm still mad that they didn't hire the Forge team because Forge is always going to be better than this plugin API. I really hope they can update Forge past 1.7.2. Mojang is screwing with the Forge team it seems.
On 1.7.10, I can easily get 100+ fps, but every single 1.8 snapshot has been extremely laggy, and this one is the worst by far. I can barely get 25 fps.
That 3rd statement is my favorite. I refuse to go on servers where you can buy kits and such. It just ruins the fun when you don't want to spend any money or can't spend any money on a server and someone else buys something and become overpowered if your doing PVP and such. One thing that is cool about MC is how online is free. Why should someone have to pay to be on the same level as someone else? I also like the 2nd statement. I played on a server for quite some time (I've not been on for over a month or two and its closed now), and if you "donated" you would get access to creative and such. I never wanted to spend any money, and pretty much everyone else was in creative and is was so unbearable.
You will never see me paying $150 for a damn ticket to the convention, plus $300+ or so just to fly there. There is absolutely no way. Even if it was where I live, I would still be hesitant to pay $150 per ticket. Is that how much tickets have always been for Minecon?
They never said it will be horses, they just simply put a picture of a horse. They could fool us again, you know. And why do people dislike horses? It won't hurt anything. If you don't want horses, simply don't use them.
Now that I think about it, some of the stuff isn't bad,
But other stuff, I hope will never be added. Also, by when they say a whole new game, does that mean we will have to rebuy MC? That would be stupid as it is only an update.
