Hello everyone, we host a small community server that we’ve recently started, and we’re looking for players who are willing to begin a new adventure and carve the future of our server!
What is the kind of experience you can expect? We put a strong emphasis in building and roleplay first of all. The goal is for you to be able to tell your story through your builds and the way you interact with the other players. If you don’t like heavy roleplay, don’t be intimidated. We’re really only looking to simulate Hermitcraft (or Empires SMP) levels of roleplay at the very least, but feel free to go all out if you want to! If you want your character to be an aspiring leader set on building a town and leading a new way of life, be our guest. If you want to be a character who is trying to prepare for an ominous threat of northern invaders, we won’t stop you. As a community though, we’d like to foster an environment where the players can create a relatively unified lore together. In time, we might devise a way to document server events, builds, and characters - a wiki for example.
We’re hosting a very close to vanilla experience, with a few fun touches here and there. It’s also utilizing Fabric which will allow all of you redstone nerds to build to your heart's content without worrying if your device won’t end up working in the end. As far as community activities, it is our goal to encourage times where we can hang out as a community and play both MC and non-MC related events. Think anything from community PvP to Movie Nights and Jackbox. The sky’s the limit (and no, we’re not talking about 256).
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old
Must be good at building or actively work at improving building skill
Non-toxic
Try to be at least semi-active (we get that life is hectic sometimes)
If you’re interested in carving the future of our server in a pivotal way, please consider joining our Discord server and apply. https://discord.gg/UMTrUEGxNg Expect a several question application and a possible interview. The more we can get to know you, the more likely you will be to get accepted. And trust us, we’d love to have you. We hope to see you in the Nexus friend!
Do you have a Youtube channel that you make content on - Not as of now
What do you look forward to on the server - I love to build super cool stuff (usually larger scale) and innovating fun systems and mini games is something I quite enjoy. Really, anything I can help with in the community is something I tend to enjoy.
Do you plan ambitious projects - Yes. I've wanted to build a fantasy town when 1.17 comes out and I really want to make a large-scale castle base too. Really, anything that suits my fancy based on the inspiration I have at the time is something I'm generally down to work on.
What is your favorite aspect of Minecraft - Building, first and foremost. But I highly value when sound economic elements are introduced, mixed with light-to-medium roleplay. That's when I really have fun - I feel those things make the experience more interesting.
Timezone (optional dont put if you dont want to) - PDT
Age (optional but the general age is around 15-20) - 21
Why you would like to join - My current server is slowly dying, community and all, and I want a new server and community to invest my time into.
This is from the same user on the forum, but a different person applying, as we are both in the same room. You may use Discord to validate this.
Preferred name: Wings
Age (aren't too strict about this, but we are building a mature community): 19
Discord tag: Treppenwitze#5672
Minecraft username: OutrightWings
Country or timezone: USA/PST
Tell us a bit about yourself. What is your favorite building style? Why do you like SMP servers? I largely enjoy building on a structural level. I'm getting better at and vastly enjoy terraforming, though I am rather noobish in comparison to seasoned terraformers. I co-build houses with Morthrin, often being responsible for large structural parts while he does the details and interiors. I, being also a fellow computer science student, love redstone and create and explore contraptions whenever I feel that I can. I enjoy playing efficiently while still making my base and area look good (no exposed redstone contraptions everywhere). While not a huge economic driver, I am always on the look out for ways to help other people in any capacity possible. I always enjoy playing with other people because it keeps the experience live, fresh, and enjoyable.

Tell us a bit about yourself. What is your favorite building style? Why do you like SMP servers? First and foremost, I am a builder. I don't admit to have the most advanced builds in the world, but I certainly do not have the worst. I've been playing since 2013, and, since then, I have experimented with several building styles, including medieval, semi-futuristic, dark/dungeon, and rustic. In general, I do not lean towards any specific style, as I enjoy the utilization of many styles depending on what I'm building. My redstone ability is competent, though I'm not terribly experienced. (I study computer science however, so I do generally understand most of what I see.) I've played on small- and large-scale servers in the past, most with an economic emphasis of some sort, so I enjoy interacting with said economy and helping other players feel like their businesses matter. Trust me, if I've got something to build and you've got blocks for me, I've got money for you. My most memorable experiences have been had on SMP servers, so I generally attempt to search for those kinds of experiences. HermitCraft is also a big inspiration, so that's probably the other big factor. Other MC player-related details can be discussed through PM (preferably on Discord) if you have the desire. Thanks for your consideration, and I hope to be able to join you soon.
NOTE: This is a joint application. We play together often, so it seemed only fit to save both us and you time by doing this at the same time.
