If I could find the thread that complained wildgrass should be toggleable it would explain a lot, but I can't.
So instead I'll have to tell you how it all ended, oh wait, you already know. Wildgrass actually isn't toggleable because it is a physical part of the game, and nothing physical in Minecraft is toggleable, and nothing physical in Minecraft will ever be toggleable.
So in the end, you either get a better computer, Or just shut the **** up.

The frame rate should be fine. I'm sure Mojang's native code is more optimized then most mods out there.
It shows repeaters not needing power directly pointing into them, but he has not approached us, the redstone users, about this update..

You sound ridiculous. It's in beta, it's their game to change where they see fit. It's not like Jeb spun a bottle and it stopped on Redstone repeaters, in which therefore he decided it should change. Notch said a while back for users not to become too attached to their current work/worlds.

Tried to add the effect of flies over his head. You can't see the top of his winter flap hat here but there's a hole in it exposing his hair to give it that dirty worn out look.
From behind you can see the accident he had, don't worry it's all dried up by now... eewwww.
