ehh actually it doesn't look like there's a point. A lot of people rip off the same functions & concepts to this and some other mods of mine. Not really an avid player of minecraft since I don't really like a lot of the changes they made to old content.

Only real way to get this backup and remove infringements from other mods would be to put advertisements on the site & download links just to pay the webhosting. Already expressed my distaste of this idea but would support the whole mod process so I don't loose too much money in the process. Having your own site really makes the distribution of mods & support for others, free webhosting lacks control.

I'll think it through and try to figure out what's best, imposing on users, or canceling all production completely.

could redo this & add a lot of the planned features but I honestly dont have the money. I didnt really look that indepth into free hosting but most of it would need a new format with the login crap taking the most time to redo. I originally had this in php then converted to Joombla or whatever cause the web hosting was cheap but when your fridge is half empty u cant spend money on webhosting.

If anyone knows free joomla webhosting just send me a msg. I never do ads because I just don't believe in it. I make this crap and other people like it so I make it available not make money off it, you going to the site is good enough. So yeah I don't do ads in downloads or my sites, the closest thing was hosting on mediafire cause didn't have a website at the time and unfortunately THEY advertise but other than that I don't feel right "imposing" on users.

So yeah, if you know anything about free webhosting or idk someway to pay for it kinda thing let me know. I was considering putting up a donation button back when I was still making mods but never got around to it. I wouldn't be apposed cause if you wanna donate it's like charity or such and you pretty much want to support it.

I was gonna do a Donation List with ppl who donate and how much and somehow work that into the website like in the banner or something so it didn't impose but still gave credit to users who supported the site.

I as well considered some sort of "VIP" for lack of a better word feature to the mod but that type of logic is pretty much the same thing with the advertising logic so if I locked certain features, I would again be imposing on users. If anyone has any ideas for that kinda thing let me know, only real thing I could think of was a "VIP Crown" & cape of sorts that donators could toggle (not ingame ofc, that would impose on users who arent "VIP") and obviously non-"VIP"s attempting to copy it but whatever, this is the internet. Only thing I could offer is dening access to use the masterserver to host copied "VIP" crap which is pretty easy. Not sure what's gonna happen, was just thinking but yeah.

I have the time for the mods and also since all the other modders have "stepped up their game" so to speak with the ingenuity of their mods I shall do the same. A lot of the other mods where very simple changes so I'll try to somehow make them more complex or something to that effect. I also have half of a universal API type of deal I was working on back in the day. The main base for that mod is to make everything (along with other mods and downloaded content, graphics, audio, window behavior) configurable and very easy to at that. Then make straight forward call methods and easy-to-understand functions so other people could use in their mods and such. Long story short, more control over EVERYTHING.

Anyway, I'll see what I can do, I'm about to move into what I'm hoping is longterm-housing so I'll have the time.

    src\minecraft\net\minecraft\src\mod_Obsidian.java:45: cannot find symbol
    symbol : constructor ItemArmor(int,int,int,int)
    location: class net.minecraft.src.ItemArmor
    obsidianHelmet = (new ItemArmor(30001, 3, ModLoader.AddArmor("ob

Recompiling an old mod and got a simple error that basically says I'm calling this incorrectly and just wondering if anyone knows the new syntax?

    Error
    src\minecraft\net\minecraft\src\mod_Obsidian.java:45: cannot find symbol
    symbol : constructor ItemArmor(int,int,int,int)
    location: class net.minecraft.src.ItemArmor
    obsidianHelmet = (new ItemArmor(30001, 3, ModLoader.AddArmor("ob
    sidian"), 0)).setItemName("obsidianHelmet");
    ^

That was the correct syntax for like MC Beta 1.8 or something so just need the new way to declare the same values as above, thanks.

Hey guys, wow sorry about all that absent time! Like I mention awhile back (or maybe I did on the other thread) I was running into housing problems and lets just say that's where I've been all this time.

I don't like to get very personal on the interweb cause that's pretty much the difference between reality and electronic socialization, but boy do I got a lot of crap on my plate to deal with. This is the first time I've been able to get on excluding last weekend where a brief fight with the Curse login crap ate up all my time.

The fact that the last post before this was made today, I'm glad this thread is still alive and hopefully with some texture submissions but you'll have to excuse me for now for I don't have time to read them all at the moment. After the last time I got one here empty handed I told myself I wouldn't do it twice, but since the situation is getting more complex, I had to come on and at least throw down some info about what I'm trying to do Minecraft wise.

My first priority is the website costs. I personally don't feel right placing ads and such in anything I've ever coded and released because I don't believe in imposing on a user of my work. For this reason, I don't use ads, that adfyli (has all those letters) thing, and have direct download links available to almost all of my mods which I just want to Hit/Download Counter purposes to make gathering all the numbers easier.

Unfortunately, I don't really have the budget for the website any longer but I'm sure I'll be able to come up with something. I'm still not going to place ads or ad-links on anything but was getting reports and checking the weblogs about a certain type of people who use this mod. As we all know, people with pirated versions of minecraft can't officially login with their username's and therefor can't change online textures. My mod directs you to my server first which doesn't check/(or care) for this.

While I honestly don't have any intentions of starting the pointless feud of attempting to restrict these users from using the mod entirely, I eventually thought of placing ads on the site only for Pirated Users (otherwise Fake Usernames). I wouldn't need to alter the mod at all and I guess most would agree it's "fair enough" to help fund the web-hosting costs. I'm also going to put up a donation thing I guess since all of this is just for webhost fees.

I'll be on later tonight with some actual stuff like updated mods and the like, and of course more information about the webhosting.

Off the top of my head and if memory serves me right, the domain name is $20/yr with all it's stuff and the hosting is like $160/yr at worst, so between all the mods, ads, and everything else, should be easy to pay for itself.

I haven't tried the 1.7 version of the mod yet (server is waiting for a stable Bukkit build to update), but this one happens to us every time we disconnect.
The server host took a look at it, and though I can't remember the exact specifics, it appears to be some sort of duplication error. In that the server still thinks you (or your capes, as the case may be) are still connected to the server, even after you've crashed.
I'll try and get more details if I can.

The second problem I haven't come across yet, as I haven't tested cape transparency.

Good call, here in a bit I'm going to compile versions and exclude a class at a time to narrow it down. Basically you got EntityPlayer which is obviously you that has the change for the cape, EntityOtherPlayerMP which gets their SMP skins, and EntityPlayerSP which has your SP skin.

One of the other classes just handles the deadmau5 ear but I noticed this bug before the installation so it's not helpful. The last formats the textures to render properly based on their dimensions and quality.

I'm assuming one of the Entitys are causing it to hang like you said so maybe this can be an easy way to point out the problem directly. I'll check it.

Just wanted to post here and say thank you for creating this mod!I spent months installing and uninstalling various mods, trying to breath new life into Minecraft; But as soon as I saw this one, I uninstalled all the others and am happy to say that the addition of HD skins has been more fun for me than Millenaire, Mo' Creatures, or any of the bigger mods out there! It's also become the single staple mod of the ProjectClanilla server! (It was like a renaissance, the day we started using this. Everyone has HD-skin-fever now!)Also, my condolences on the breakup. I know how much real life problems can effect one's video-game-modding time. I hope everything works out for you!

Hey thanks for all the help answering questions for me. I could take or leave the "break-up" it's me not having a place to go that's the problem. I guess I should have said that instead, but that's why I'm getting a bumpy ride and had a lot of absence. Hopefully if they don't update till late fall I'll be able to get things setup to keep everything going inbetween if I'd have a time and place to get on the internet.

Thank you! Thank you for taking time out of your life to code this mod. I've been looking forward to using this mod again. Yay.

No no, thank you for being patient while I couldn't update this mod for a few weeks. I'm going to get the zombe's modpack compatibility sorted out so hopefully it will help.

I want a way we can get other peoples skins to be honest I'm to lazy to make skins :Sheep:

Yeah, I like the mod but I really wished I could draw to the full potential of the highest resolution. Some people have posted capes and I'm going to try to set something up where you can agree/disagree to allowing your uploaded textures to be in a gallery for other users to use or reference for other HD skins so hopefully it would get a database to use.

You don't know how much I appreciate that you used some of your time to update this mod for us. I have updated to 1.7.3 and will now download. Thank you very much.

Well thanks and again I'm the one who feels bad about the long wait so thanks for being patient.

Hmm, does anyone else have a problem while playing on multiplayer? Occasionally with this cape mod, my game will freeze and I'll have to use the task manager to shut down Minecraft. The only other mod I use is an FPS booster called Optifog+Optimine. I am not sure if Minecraft freezing also happens on single player. I haven't tested it out.It may be my computer, I'm also not sure about that (my computer is mediocre. It's not crap but it's not the greatest gaming rig either). I've noticed that this mod causes Minecraft to use nearly twice the amount of memory. Usually with Optigfog+Optimine MC uses about 380k-580k memory but with the cape mod, it jumps to about 980k.I'm not a computer person, so any help would be nice. I really enjoy this mod and I'd like to keep using it. But I don't want my game to keep freezing either. Thanks!

Well I know the 2 bugs I never could identify the cause was

    1) Occasionally loading a multiplayer world and disconnecting would mess up on reconnecting to any SMP server until you restarted your client

    and

    2) When you have a cloak uploaded on 512x256 and has over a undetermined percentage of transparency, it will cause a black box to appear at the upper left corner.

I think it has to do with the 1 bug and all I can do is take a look around. Something's happening that's changing an expected result which is causing it to "de-sync" if you will. (could be with the hangcheck but I've planned to work that system out)

Alright I got it updated to 1.7.3, sorry about that.

I'm not going to get too personal but over the last couple of weeks I've been in the process of leaving my girl friends and I'm not very sure right now how long I have to do anything these days.

1.9.4 just updates it for 1.7.3 but I couldn't get the zombe's mod compatibility working so I'll contact tanzite about it.

Oh and great skins guys, those screenshots look pretty freaking great and I didn't think you could get a player to look like that Lol.

Just gonna save some time on writing and quote my post on my other mod thread about the situation.

    Quote from jordans243

Hey, I know you said the thread is 'temporarily' down, but I was wondering how long 'temporarily' was going to be? Out of curiosity. Because there are many of your mods that I want very badly, and currently cannot get. This makes me very sad, as I'm sure you can imagine. XD

    Yeah sorry about that.

Long story short, a few weeks ago me and some friends went on vacation and my friend's car was stolen which had my wallet and cell phone in there. Ended up staying down there an extra 10 days till the cops found the car so I can get my wallet and phone back (more so the wallet) and then had to catch-up on work right when I got back.

I tried getting on the forums the other day but it was down everytime I checked, but now it seems to be up so I can get back to my minecraft stuff.

Going to update the thread format today like the OP says then post the 1.6.6 mods I already have done and start updating the other ones as soon as possible. It sucks because I really wanted to add features and make other mods but now I'm stuck playing catch-up as well as getting reestablished with any changes to the MC community that I should know about. I'm gonna have to just update the 1.6.5s to 1.6.6 instead of that and adding features I wanted to do and worry about those later on next week or so.

Sorry about that though, should be back to normal by Friday the latest.

Sorry about the wait, I've had a hectic schedule lately and less time to code then I originally anticipated. I should be able to finish updating these mods to 1.6.6 before tomorrow's end and then move on to the new features I wanted to add.

BoatFixes just crashed my client when placing boat.
Is this because it's for 1.6.4?

Yeah it could be. I have a lot of mods I had to add to the list to fix a lot of complete ******** that they've removed in minecraft. I'm hoping my first is going to be fixing the minecart boosters to work again, but I also have to relook at the boat to check for more crap to fix. I saw a lot of problems with it myself (the new boat) so might have stuff to add to that.

Could you update at least the 1.5_01 mods to 1.6.4? (I would prefer if you updated all the mods to 1.6.6, though) No rush.

Yeah sorry, been real busy but starting tomorrow I'll have two weeks by myself and I intend to spend a lot of time on my mods. Should see some 1.6.6s tomorrow but testing them is harder because the last time I had 10minutes to spare I had some problems with TooManyItems.

I started updating mods to 1.6.6 (2 done now) and first had problems with modloader not recompiling correctly. Fixed that, kept going but when I went ingame to test and make sure the changes I had to make for the newer obfuscation still worked, TooManyItems kept closing any Inventory screen the second I opened it. Time was up, and I was pretty frustrated so I never got around to seeing if it was a real problem with TMI or just how to fix it so I can easily test mod functions.

    Quote from Zekrom9

The mob repeller mod are not compatible with buildcraft mods.

Try again when it's updated to 1.6.6 and if not, paste the mod page here and I'll check for conflicts and making compatibilities.
